I’ve had a wonderful experience working at Seneca Health Services. The organization is deeply committed to serving the community, and it shows in the work we do every day. The leadership team is supportive and approachable, and they genuinely care about both their clients and staff.

The onboarding process was thorough, and I felt well-prepared when I started seeing clients. There are plenty of opportunities for training and continuing education, which has helped me grow professionally.

The work can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Teamwork is strong, and colleagues are always willing to lend a hand or offer guidance. I also appreciate the flexibility in scheduling and the emphasis on work-life balance.

Overall, Seneca Health Services is a fantastic organization for anyone passionate about mental health and community service. I feel valued here, and I know I’m making a difference.

I absolutely loved this job. It was exactly what I wanted to be doing with my career but working in a small office with others who questioned your every move and gossiped behind your back made you want to spend as little time as possible in the office. There aren’t raises for anyone on a regular basis (didn’t get a raise in over six years) and limited praise for hard work. If others simply don’t like you or if the company wants to phase your job out and focus on other jobs that they can pay people less for then you could end up terminated without cause or any verbal or written warning. 

I started as a Therapist during the beginning of the  pandemic. They supported me, let me work from home,  and gave me a bonus.  As a new Therapist, they allowed me to explore my passion and choose a Specialty. I am now well on my way to becoming a certified specialist for SUD.  They offer programs to pay off student loan debt. They are paying for my Supervision to become a LICSW and allow me time during the workday to get my Supervision time completed. The CEO is down to earth and very approachable. She recently worked relentlessly to get everyone a very nice raise because staff deserved it and to stay competitive. I get to work from home a few days per week and when my child is sick. This company understands that we are individuals who have families. I have never been treated better by an employer. I love it here! 

Working in the home of 2 mentally disabled clients is an experience all on its own. Especially if you worked at a group home first. You went from having a couple co-workers that could help if needed, to just you and your clients, which can be aggravating and trying at times. The easiest way for me to deal with new clients is to remind myself they are just like children with a new babysitter. In the way that they will push your buttons and try to figure out what  they are able to get away with and where u stand as an "authority figure." Also, just like with children the job can be very gratifying and rewarding.

Job changes without warning. No new contract when changes were made. No additional pay when job changes were made. Performance pressures that were excessive. Micromanagement a real issue. 
People made to feel threatened with their jobs. Favoritism.  Claims of added workloads being temporary when in actuality were made permanent.
Disrespectful behaviors of supervisors (especially harassing). Excessive expectations of employees. Unfair accusations. Generally uncaring attitudes by supervisors toward employees.
Not a place I would recommend as it steadily got worse over time and was not the place I hired into on most if not all levels in my opinion.
I would check into the financial well-being of the company (based on office scuttlebutt).

Seneca Health Services is the best agency/organization I have ever worked for.  The CEO and VP saw potential in me that I didn't know I had.  I've been given so many opportunities to not only contribute ideas, but to make those ideas come to life because of the support and encouragement I receive.  I love Seneca because management wants you to grow as a person and a professional.  They provide opportunities for advancement and growth.  Seneca provides the BEST benefits.  Seneca provides so many needed services to our rural areas.  The staff are caring and compassionate and truly want what is in the best interest of our clients.  You won't find a better place to work and better people to work with than Seneca Health Services.

There is a huge need for mental health in their service area but the company has little regard for employee mental health.  This is due to productivity expectations that can lead to employee burnout and subpar services for consumers.  Micro-managing and productivity expectations make this a very stressful job.  Management will often promise change with little result.  Employees are kind and facility is new.  Felt physically safe in the environment but stress levels were unsatisfactory.

Well I work in crisis so I handle crisis pretty good...so just getting multiple calls at the same time can be stressful

Seneca is rapidly expanding to help serve the mental health needs of the surrounding rural communities by being responsible, accessible, and progressive! Seneca has been a wonderful place to work and grow. Growing pains happen with any work environment, but with supportive management the frustrations are easier to navigate. Our CEO is very knowledgeable and truly wants the best for our clients and staff. Seneca has been very rewarding in my career by seeing clients succeeding and feeling better! 

I was able to leave my full-time job to become a part-time contract worker due to Seneca offering great pay.  This allowed me to stay at home with my two young children part of the week.  When I was interviewed, I felt valued and sought after and I also felt that my family's needs were considered.  I'm happy to be on board and tell everyone I know that Seneca is a great organization to work for.  My supervisors have been extremely helpful and make sure to check in with me on my needs.
