I delivered a range of goods from simple office supplies to lab reagents weighing more than 100+lbs and heavy capital freight (medical equipment). I made two and sometimes three trips in one day at an average of 60mi a day. I used a scanning tool to scan delivery documents and get confirmation of delivery by end-clients. I helped the other drivers by delivering the parcels given to them that were far out of the way of their route. The truck was not kept in the best condition before I received it. The truck actually failed to brake multiple times or shut down going down the highway. I became very proficient at this route. Ultimately my job performance didn't matter.

Most enjoyable part of the job was being out of the warehouse and seeing the end-clients happy that they got their order and correcting any issues such as returns or exchanges.
The most unpleasant part of the job was dealing with the inconsiderate and abusive management that showed a disdain for fellow co-workers and even end-clients.

They work you ragged for three months, get you to sign up for all the insurance benefits that come out of your paycheck and jump through all their hoops (like getting blood draws), just to pull the rug out from under you.  I signed up to contribute money into an FSA but never received it. Money taken out of my check that just disappears. Unqualified and unprofessional management. They boast, belittle, demean, attack your character and condescend you from their safe and protected perch. HR didn't help.

Be prepared to spend every waking moment at this job for low pay. 8 to 5 Mon-Fri, 80 hour checks and I was pulling in little more than I made as a cook at a drive in! Had no time to do anything else, could hardly even rest well before the workday started again. They want you to work unpaid during your lunch hour which is now automatically deducted from your check, even for part time or second shift workers who dont get a lunch hour. They are reluctant to give you overtime. They want you to request and use PTO to get paid holidays. They won't give you days off when you're sick, they expect you to work anyway even at the risk of others. One of our co-workers even passed away in the warehouse.

For these reasons, as much as I liked doing the job itself, the drama, clique-oriented and hostile management ruins the work atmosphere and makes it impossible to recommend this job to others.
I was happy to be discharged simply to not have to put up with the subjugation and abuse anymore. I declared "Freedom!" as I walked out the door.

Many more issues I could mention but I think you get the point.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

The job itself is constantly changing and fun, the environment can definitely be stressful but overall the things you do in the ER are usually very rewarding. It is a very physically and emotionally demanding but most jobs in the medical field are. 
The type of people you work with, other employees, really varies. There are a lot of lazy employees that will push things off on people they see are hard workers. There are a lot of entitled attitudes from people who have worked there longer, especially other techs and nurses. The doctors choose favorites within the tech and nursing staff & some of the doctors are outright nasty to other staff. A lot of the nurses form cliques and it feels very high-school-ish with the drama, gossiping, and back stabbing that happens.  
Management definitely has favorites and length of time working there seems to matter more than quality of work put in. Getting time off for personal things is difficult & if a personal emergency comes up last minute, then good luck with that because they’re not going to accommodate you.
They don’t really truly care about employee safety, they just do what they have to to get good ratings from patients on surveys and make everyone that visits the ER as happy as possible even if it’s at the disadvantage of the employees.
A lot of people love working there, but there are also a lot of people that don’t. Personally, I wouldn’t ever choose to work there again. 

I loved working for this organization until restructure changes were made within the company. Employees no longer feel valued or supported the way they once did. Leadership began hiring outside of the Shannon established system, including bringing in Nursing staff from Lubbock, to serve as managers and the quality of care and workplace culture noticeably declined.

— are no longer reflected in daily operations. The commitment to exceptional care that once defined the organization has diminished, and the workplace no longer resembles the supportive environment it used to be. 

My morning begins at 8:00, I open fours rooms and clear counters every morning, sort files from the day before and ready files for the current day. I turn on the office computers and pull up schedules for the current day. I open all the programs my Doctor uses through out the day and set a few of the files in two of the respective rooms that may be need during the day. I ready the computer for testing patients hearing throughout the day. My doctor and I will typically each have a patient around 8:45 or 9:00. 

The hearing test consists of tones, speech and sometimes testing by using a bone oscillator (behind the ear). I sort through other Doctor's schedules for the month daily to make my Doctor's schedule.

On one or two days certain day of the week, I test different patients balance by performing a balance evaluation. It is an hour or an hour and a half test where I make the patient dizzy by using a machine that blows warm or cold air in each ear separately.

I check patient information regularly and store patient files. I make receipts and gather supplies for hearing aids at patient requests.I price hearing aid supplies.
 
I clean hearing aids as needed ( twice a week) and have learned a bit about repairing hearing aids.

I turn off my computer and see that the doors are closed for the evening.

We all work so hard and all they give you is a .25 cent raise once a year!! and that's not promised. I worked the hardest staying late when needed always asked for more work so everyone doesn't feel overwhelmed. We ask for help over and over and they never give us an answer! they wanted you to wake up stressed and go to sleep stressed. The ones that don't feel this way are the ones that done care about patient care and make the workplace better. They tell you, you can take breaks. YOU CANT. you managers go to the break room to just pull you back to work. you can only relax when you go to the bathroom. THIS YEAR THERE IS NO BONUS. we all worked super hard because for some people 500$ each year helps out a lot with bills and my children. BUT THE PEOPLE THAT WORK WITH (CEO!!) don't have to worry about it because while we are all breaking our backs for them we are the ones that are underpaid and are denied a bonus because the CEO can't seem to understand when he makes his employees happy you can have HAPPY PATIENTS. This year we were over with employee turn over and they still this don't get it. all they are about is patient care and that understandable but WHAT ABOUT EMPLOYE CARE!! Please go work for someone else and don't waste your time unless you want to be cheated.

Working with the public has its advantages and disadvantages and they change every hour. You see old friends which was very nice. I was able to make new friends with my co-workers but you do have to understand that it's a job. Everyone had to fend for themselves. The hardest part of any job is understanding the ground rules. Either you play or you don't. I did not. I do not believe anyone is any better than the other, whether doctor, nurse, receptionist or patient. Mostly, you should help please the patient. You smile and enjoy your day with whatever it brings. The hardest part of this job was that you are constantly changing the scheduling format  at a moment's notice;  "No Show" rating is so sporatic just because of people. People do not take their appointments seriously until they deem it is important. It takes up a time slot where you could have scheduled someone else. So you double-book to help out with the number being seen for the day and that can vary on different levels as to whether or not that is still the 'overall plan for the day'.(i.e temperament mostly).

When I was first hired, I was hired to do a specific job. In the course of a year, that job was no longer necessary and so the dept came up with other work to keep us employed. We were promised more staff to cover the additional work, however I ended up working solo for the majority of my shift, with additional duties, same pay, and no incentives to fuel my desire to stay. When my manager was increasingly absent for personal health reasons - I offered to step up and take on more responsibility in order to help everyone else continue in a positive direction. (My offer was declined, and met with some pretty unprofessional and petty counteroffers.) When I put in my 2 weeks notice because I'd found another higher paying job, the director asked if I'd stay. When I was laid off from the new job a year later, I wrote asking if they'd consider taking me back because I'd noticed a continuous job opening available. Apparently someone or someone(s) took my departure personally and therefore they're not willing to see me return. 

They provide benefits, but they're expensive. And if the manager doesn't like you, they have the ability to flag you in HR so you can't be hired in any other departments either.

I started working at Shannon Medical Center 1 1/2 months ago. Being a Float Pool CNA has helped me to understand the different needs and duties of the personnel based on the area you are working on, I have learned a lot since I started and I keep learning new things everyday, everyone is very polite, respectful and everyone steps up to help you if you need an extra hand. I do have something to say for everyone out there talking bad about their salary, as long as you like your job, you will enjoy doing it no matter how much you get payed, and if you are looking to get rich doing this type of job, then the medical field is not for you, we are here to help people in need and not to fill our pockets. Do not expect to get a Doctor's salary if you do not have the same amount of education. If you want to get a big check, it will take you a long time and a good brain, everyone wants a large check, but not everyone wants to go through the process.

It was a Great Learning Experience, fast and relaxed pace everyone is friendly, Free fountain Drinks, 30min break, sometimes Slow, a Team effort Job. Management could of been better at most times, some were Lazy employees, lots of Trash/Garbage to throw away and Dishes too that needed to be washed all Times. Everyone counts on you for almost Everything there. Food service worker as well putting food on trays for the patients is quick paced but get easy as you learn. the only frustration of the job is your co workers!! some will leave or walk around or not help you when needed at all times. its more difficult to work by yourself because of all the Dishes and Pots and pans Stacked up. And trash cans filled up to the Top!! 
and must be replaced every 45 min. if everyone weren't Lazy and worked together then a Great Job but sadly its just an okay Job and I do recommend it Personally!! :)
