The longest work day I had with Shared Med was 18 hours, and I was just expected to do it with no incentive other than the potential for overtime. But, because I only worked 3 days a week that week, I barely got OT for it. 
There's no lunch breaks, there's no time for you to take care of yourself because your schedule at each site is so busy, there were times that I barely had a chance to run inside to use the bathroom because we were just that busy. It's just you, and the driver/medical assistant. You are expected to meet at your home site each morning, and ride in the semi to each site you scan at for the rest of the day. When the day is done, if your home site has any inpatients for you, you have to go back to the home site to scan those patients - regardless of if you've already worked a 14 hour day scanning at 2 other sites, you will scan however many patients they have waiting for you. 
Your standard work schedule is like this at least 3 or 4 days a week if you're working full time like I was, and anything less than full time they will ask more from you. On average, you will work a usual 13-14 hour day. A short day is an 8 hour day. 
Working for this company requires years of experience as an MRI tech to be able to handle any problem that comes your way. You are put in countless situations that require critical thinking because you will work with several different radiologist groups, you will have to find a way to communicate with these Rads to get protocols, to communicate with the site techs, site nurses, and troubleshoot scanner problems which happen frequently on the road. Then you always have to consider the schedule timing with the weather, not to mention riding in the semi in the winter is an adventure and a half... 
My schedule was never consistent. I was up at 3am one morning for work, then off the next day sleeping in,, then up again the next at 5am. You're so exhausted on your days off to make them count, but if you can find a balance and make it work the week days off are nice.. If this sounds like the job for you, then I wish you well. 

Never fully staffed because they do not do anything to try and keep good employees.  Offer 40hr guarantee but no time off for low need, regular schedule is at least 40hrs with OT at least every other week (or constantly due to understaffing).  No compensation for techs who also are responsible for driving truck.  Not open to questions or suggestions from staff (say things will change but no action).  Poor insurance benefits, no encouragement or appreciation but always ready to criticize.  Bosses have too much on their plate to adequately do their jobs and makes them hard to deal with as well...feel like no where to go with issues.  Also company as a whole does not appreciate field staff and time, work and extra effort they put in.  Vindictively took my longetivity bonus i was supposed to receive for my years of service (met in July) in January.  Was told i was getting it and being processed and i put my notice in a week later (mid Jan - a 2.5 week notice since i knew they were very short handed) and they took it away.  Just very petty and was the culmination of how the company has made me feel in last four years.

The long days and only getting less than 34 hours a week, the lack of support from upper management 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is okay. corporate culture is do as I say and get written up for doing what I say because you go over hours because you didn’t have enough time to do the job and it’s always your fault because they are under staffed for drivers 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start time is anywhere from 4 to 7 in the morning drive 1-5 hours to the first sight set up the coach and scan patients for 1-5 hours pack up and go to the next sight 1 or 2 more times then take the truck to the next sight at the end of the day anywhere from 3-9 at night and being on duty for 10 to 17 hours a day and schedule tire changes, hvac service and truck service and they expect us to take phone calls on our days off

I work 6 days a week, not by choice but because there are no other drivers to help! The balance of a personal life does not exist! Doctors appointments or home time is minimal trying to keep up with crazy route changes that only benefit the company. You are truly a number and no one really cares if you fall over from exhaustion. Just get the trailer where it needs to be and help the MRI tech is all they care about. Money is decent if your pulling overtime, but the 34 hour guarantee is a joke, never used it. Expected to be available at the drop of a hat. Lots of lies go on within this place, but I ignore them and move on with my 
 duties. Overall, I am satisfied here, as this kind of nonsense happens in every company I have worked for. I will retire here... hopefully before they kill me!  

Working at Shared Medical Services was a difficult experience due to significant issues with leadership and employment practices. The leadership team frequently demonstrates inconsistency in decision-making and a lack of collaboration with HR, leading to confusion and frustration among employees. Ethical concerns are also prevalent, as critical issues are often overlooked or poorly handled.  The refusal to gather employee feedback on important matters coupled with a lack of overall transparency reflects a disregard for employees in general. Additionally, the failure to address or even document serious concerns compromises the integrity of the entire organization.  Overall, the environment is marked by poor leadership and questionable practices that make it challenging for employees to feel supported or valued.

At first this company was excellent to work for, but soon reality set in and it was apparent that they where reluctant to make the necessary changes that are critical for this company to grow to the next level.

Simple things like purchase one Windows Operating License for deployment purposes was like pulling teeth to move forward with an automated approach as opposed to flipping disks for each PC or laptop.

Staff seemed to be afraid of management and it was strictly an punch the clock to the exact eight hour time period, that is of course if you were the only one in the IT department and then you worked even on  your vacation days.

This job will give you a great sense of accomplishment and purpose. I love that we get to provide very medically necessary and important tests for patients that otherwise would not have access to them. I never get bored, a typical day will stay nicely paced with no time to twiddle your thumbs. Micromanaging is not an issue with this job, you work independently usually with one other person. My manager is supportive and always a call or text away. I’ve been with the company for three years and gotten as many raises. I have the opportunity to make more money with this company than at my previous hospital job because SMS pays for your drive time, mileage reimbursement, per diem, and overtime. I’ve never been told to go home early or not come in because of hours. Coworkers are all helpful and easy going. Culture is very team oriented. Oh, and the best part—no call :)

At the time I worked for SMS, which was quite a while ago, it was a fabulous workplace.  My husband transferred which is the only reason I left their employ.  Now that I have had many jobs, I can say that this company was the best company insofar as balancing business with personal, great relationships and team players, actually having fun and working hard, open door policy and management open to suggestions and comments.  It was a great place to work, and I miss it.

Started everyday early (4AM) drove to rural sites moved mid day most days and arrived at home site late (6PM or later) 4 day work weeks is a plus but work a lot of Saturdays. You are stuck where the truck is and if there is an emergency you have no way of getting back, this is just part of the job on a mobile unit and should be expected. Pay is terrible for MA/Drivers I'm not sure about Techs. Coworkers are generally great and you can have a lot of fun at work. Management is lacking at best and doesn't care as long as the truck is where it's supposed to be but also doesn't care about employee's that much and is more concerned about profit. And there is zero advancement opportunities.
