This is only for the IT side of Sharp. I cannot speak to what the work environment is like for Nurses and Doctors.

Before coming to Sharp, I’ve done the usual research and read up on all the reviews.  IT seemed like a GREAT company, and it seemed to have the Life-Work balance that I was looking for.  Unfortunately that was NOT the case.   

Timesheet:  The biggest change for me was adapting to a clock-in clock-out system, yes like back in the days where you had to punch your time card.  In my past 5 companies, this was unheard of, there are some time tracking tools, but no actual punch in and punch out rules.   In my department, at least (not sure about companywide), everyone has to work 8 hours a day minimum… even when you have worked overtime in other days.  So for example, you have worked your 40 hours a week around 3PM on Friday and you want to leave early… YOU CAN’T!!! You have to stay and work your 8 Hr day on Friday and leave when you have completed 8 hours.  So you will NOT be leaving early… EVER!  The only time you are allowed to leave early is when you have, with enough notice, requested to take PTO (Paid Time Off) from your boss. This is weird right!! You have to take your vacation time to complete the 8 hrs rule, so that you they can turn around and pay you back.  This may be of some benefits if you want to get paid the OT but sometimes you just want to go home and see your family after a long week.

Culture:  “The best place to work” is the part of the core values that is preached all year long in everything you read.  I really think that for the most part, the company does a good job at this.  I go to some Hospitals and people seem happy, they have nice cafeterias, they exercise.... but not for the IT Department.  You see, the IT Dept. office space is located at a warehouse building on Ruffin Rd. and it is very different than the rest of the company.  There are no gyms nearby, there are no restaurants nearby, and there is no cafeteria on-site like most hospital and headquarters.  The snack machines and soda machines are super expensive too!! So eating healthy is going to mean you bring in food, or you take more than 30 min lunch, which also means having to stay longer to make up the time to complete your 8 hr shift.  The company promotes lots of health and fitness activities but they are pretty much on your own time.  So if you attend an event from Sharp you either have to use your vacation time, or they are usually on the weekends.  Team outings are pretty much non-existent.  No team appreciation lunch or Christmas dinners or nothing of the kind.  If you get along with your co-workers you can schedule some time for lunches or dinners, of course none of this on company time. Something else I feel I have to mention:  The Yearly Expo Event.  This is a multimillion event that Sharp hosts at the convention center.  They literally bus everyone employee from all different hospital to the convention center.  There are snacks and nice (useless) little pins that you get as a gift.  The presentation is pretty much an opportunity for top management (CEO and CIO etc) to have some fun doing their company movies that they show during this event.   I must say though, the guest speakers are great, they are real patients that have undergone some major life changing events where Sharp was there to help them.  I loved that part.  I don’t know that they need to spend multi millions of dollars on this event though… just saying… my company coffee mug was nice, but maybe a team lunch would be nice too.

Benefits:  This is probably the highlights of working here.  The benefits are supposed to be GREAT!! But they are slightly better than average.  For example:  You earn more than the average vacation hrs per pay period… but that’s because when it’s a holiday, YOU have to use your PTO hrs to pay yourself for that holiday. Hmmm not sure a great deal after all.   I had opted for Sharps own health plan, because it is the best for my needs.  But even with their own plan, for their own employees, I still pay more for co-pay and other deductible than I have paid in the past with other companies.  I must say though, if you are lucky, you might negotiate yourself a job that pays above the average, which is hard to beat.  Also there is some overtime when there is lots of work.  I have not earned a lot of overtime due to the nature of my work but I hear some people really make use of it when they can and it’s a nice little bonus.  Which brings to the annual bonus comments; based on your hours worked in the year, there is a bonus around end of the year, anywhere from $150 to $500, which is not bad considering most companies don’t give anything. 

Management:  Again, I'm not sure about other departments.  But given the culture above, it is clear that management does not allow much time for any appreciation, time off, or even flexibility.  Management only cares about get work out of you.

The Sharp HealthCare Company has very high standards and has won several prestigious Awards for it's dedication work ethics and standards to patient care. Sharp HealthCare has a slogan known  as the Sharp Experience which empitimizes the overall Atittude of it's employees which is known for doing the best job possible the first time with care and safety, and to have customer satisfaction. The company is very friendly orientated Diversified and is an equal opporunity company. Sharp HealthCare promotes Health Wellness to it's Employees and encourages employees to further their education in their specific field of Study. Overall it's one of the best places to work. Sharp Healthcare is Family orientated , there are Generations of family who have been employed by Sharp HealthCare.The hardest part of my Job is trying to contact employees to expedite the Tandem Parking situation so employees can leave as soon as possible, of course this is due to Company Growth and expansion. The most enjoyable part of my job is working at the Concierge Desk where i have the privalege to meet exciting people, Venders, Buisnees Associates and to make them feel welcome with a smile and the Sharp Experience Atmosphere. A typical day starts at 2pm at the Concierge Desk where i am monitoring the main lobby and Tandem parking and patroling inside and exterior premises. Reports and investgation are done when required as well as safety procedures. Employees are Exscorted to Vehicles when needed. Phones are very heavy at times and require 
fast response with proper phone technique. One of the most important part of my job is to ensure that the buildings are secure at all times and that alarms are Activated. Management are very helpful and friendly and give support and suggestions to improve any situation that may require their assistance. I have learn don't take it personal when people are indifferent at times because sometimes they are just having a moment. My purpose everyday is to make someone smile that just may need it from me.

Working at Sharp is unfortunately not what I expected... I've been working for Sharp as a CNA for 2+ years and, honestly, working conditions haven't really improved. I'm constantly working short staffed and yet expected to provide equal care for 16+ patients, it's impossible. Staff is often hit or miss, I work mainly with RNs and other aides(CNA, HCP, etc...). I don't get paid enough for all the work I do and my back is constantly killing me. I rarely feel appreciated and am always asked to do more. You are suppose to take breaks, but they aren't enforced and you are at fault if you don't take them. It's not that I forget to take my breaks... I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO TAKE A BREAK! My phone is constantly ringing and I'm often too busy taking care of patients or following nurses orders to have time for a break, it sucks. I've complained to management in the past, but nothing changes. Maybe because I'm just an aide and am the lowest on the totem poll? Who knows? Sure does feel that way though. The saddest thing for me is that I actually do enjoy taking care of people. I'm always wishing I had more time to achieve the best care for my patients or to actually have the time to get to know them. I've learned so much along the way but am planing on leaving the company soon, and possibly healthcare all together honestly. The healthcare system is a total mess in its current state. Even though the blame doesn't solely fall on Sharp, it's unfortunate they don't seem to have a solution to these issues either.

The culture at Sharp was excellent.  My co-workers were great and I did love my job.  Unfortunately, I could not move beyond my position.  Advancement was nonexistent, at least for me.  Otherwise I would still work for the company.  Let me add the caveat that my employee record with them is very good.  There are no disciplinary issues in my file and I was not in danger of being "laid off" or "fired".  So this review is not based on bitterness just on my experience while with the firm.

Hard work gets you no where (at least that was my experience).  Overall, the work/life balance was great, the benefits were exceptional and aside from one co-worker who made my life horrible (not company's fault and they took care of the issue eventually) I would recommend working there with the caution that moving forward in the company is difficult and if you are looking to advance in your career, Sharp may not be for you.  I was a Clerical Asst. III for 7 1/2 years.  I became an Accountant in 2014 while in their employ.  For those last 3 years of my employment, I tried to move into finance.  Out of the countless times I applied for positions in the Accounting/Finance Depts., I got one interview and it was treated as a complete joke!  Granted the interviewer was let go about a month later but it was still very disheartening.  Despite my reservations, I still give them 4 stars because they do treat their employees well, despite the setbacks I experienced.

Sharp was one of the best places I have ever worked - their culture supports high ethical standards which, in my opinion - is hard to come by these days. They encourage speaking up when you feel there may be a safety issue; and they actually pay attention when you do. That being said, there are a few bad apples in middle management that do not share that ethical responsibility and are quite combative when any concerns are brought to their attention. I hope Sharp weeds these people out because they don’t belong there. They very carefully vet their people; but there is always a few that slip thru the cracks. But the vast majority of people at Sharp were some of the most professional and productive people I’ve ever worked with. Very diverse workforce and male and female executives. 

I actually saw the CEO quite often. He’d always be walking around, greeting people with a huge smile. Great guy. Not the least bit threatening and exactly the type of leader you’d expect in an organization that prides itself on inclusiveness.

I believe Sharp compensated me quite well; base pay was competitive and regular raises could be expected. They offered extensive benefits; plenty of PTO / sick / family leave, a really good health plan, and they matched your retirement investments so you can really build up a nice nest egg there. I would have stayed there - even thru the pandemic - had it not been for a family matter that resulted in me moving out of state. 

The experience you would have as an employee at Graybill Medical Group is contingent upon the office you are assigned to.

Escondido is the CBO. I have no experience working there, however I heard great things.

There are 2 locations in Fallbrook, Internal Medicine and a Family Practice. Both offices are absolutely wonderful!  Staff is more like a close knit "family". While of course, there are conflicts in every jobs no matter what industry or position, the office managers and supervisors and VERY professional and ethical.  Pay is great and recognition program is amazing! 

The best position I have ever held throughout my career was as a receptionist in Fallbrook family practice office

I also have experience working in the Temecula location.

My thoughts on the Temecula office is the exact EXTREME OPPOSITE of everything I just said about Fallbrook.  
 
The Regional Manager has no medical experience and is completely unprofessional, loud, incompetent, and condescending.  

If you are looking for advancement in your career, flexible job schedule, or ability to go above and beyond your job to learn other aspects of the field. She will make it a point to ensure that does not happen.  She will hold you back and in my opinion, she has no place in a doctors office.

Employees, patients, and the doctors complain about her and she is the reason I resigned from the company.

Joined a high-performing and high volume IT support staff on the Technical Assistance Center, supporting more than 400 applications throughout Sharp Healthcare. I am currently assisting and supporting a variety of applications including Cerner Millennium and Centricity Web Framework, creating accounts and adding AD level permissions. Continued support of  Project Server and Onbase applications as well . I have created some Adobe Captivate Training Modules for my department. Support Center Analyst with almost 80 percent First Call Resolution in my first year on the Technical Assistance Center

Key Projects & Achievements: Understanding the major applications and accounts information that are used throughout Sharp Healthcare. Learning more about OnBase and Project Server and how it is utilized and supported by Sharp. Learning the ins and outs of major applications like Cerner, Centricity and Touchworks  and tie-ins with other applications like IDX, Cerner etc. Resolving help desk tickets. Managing small project requests to implement better solutions for our department. Assisted with Cerner Millennium Implementation Go-live at Sharp Grossmont Hospital as a support center analyst. HDI Support Center Analyst Certified.

I served as Director of Business Development & Director of Operations for SCHS reporting to the Senior VP and enjoyed every minute.  He allowed me to take on an independent  consulting assignment at Sutter Health in Sacramento to construct a financial decision modeling tool that demonstrated the efficacy of installing a Family Practice Residency Center.  An area that I was very familiar with from my administrative work at UCLA and at Glendale Adventist Medical Centers Family Practice Residency Centers. 
•	Sharp allowed creative latitude to bring in promising business growth opportunities.  I was a period of great expansion at Sharp that saw Grossmont, Coronado, and Temecula additions.  My staff was talented as were cross departmental staff.  We were able to  develop physician practice management network, provider contracting, medical group financial models and business plans.  Responsible for operations of $20 + million portfolio of wholly owned for profit subs: PMC Physicians Management Company, Rancho Family Medical Group- Temecula, Grossmont Medical Group, CSM -Center For Sports Medicine, and Sharp PSRC -Post Surgical Recovery Center.

Prior to starting this position more than 5 people from different sites warned me about working here and warned me about these particular persons, unfortunately I didn't listen to the obvious warning signs they gave me.

I had an extreme micromanager supervisor who belittled me and was always condescending towards ONLY ME. So much happened in such a short period of time that it eventually led me to have health complications. I was always stressing out due to the toxic work environment. It got so bad that I had to start taking depression medications because I hated working there. My coworkers were always pointing fingers and snitching on each other and for some reason I would always be blamed for everything. I would always have to step on eggshells and there was no trust or teamwork. I was scared to make mistakes, and I was afraid of being snitched on for the most meaningless minuet things, this also led me to having many panic attacks. I did tell HR and she did nothing, I also applied for other positions and nothing. 
Working here felt like being in an abusive relationship and I still have trauma from it. 
Please listen to the people that have worked here before!!!

A typical day working in Access service is having adequate supplies and equipment to perform the requirements of the job which are bedside registrations outpatient/inpatients admissions, gathering insurances and billing information, assisting in meeting financial goals at the same time of ensure patients are well informed, assistance with referrals, with in the paradigm of a structured working relationship within an Trauma emergency room setting.

My work environment is a very diverse environment from every aspect of the work force of the infrastructure and every facility.
The hardest part is lacking the means to do more.

The best part of the jobs are being a part of goal(s) where every role is as important as the next persons, al beit the house keepers to the surgeons, the Medics/Firemen/law enforcement  are as important as the gardener and landscapers. The Executive management roles are as important as the engineers that maintains the IT systems. Every person has an intricate part in maintaining the success of a company and their clients, patients, coworkers,subscribers, vendors,etc.
