The calls are constant, non-stop with only 20 seconds in between. It is very hard to breathe with this company as it sucks the life out of you.  The company does not have the staffing for the amount of calls it receives.  The compensation does not match the amount of stress this company brings.  Management is constantly requesting over-time work from the employees because people are constantly leaving this job or being fired behind the scenes.  They hire frequently because people leave frequently - including management. I would not recommend this company as I was burnt out.  There are benefits such as sick time and vacation time.  It is very difficult to request time off due to the company having "black out dates".  Phone agents are not allowed to request time off around holidays with the new management.  The days/weeks around ALL holidays are inaccessible at the beginning of the year, preventing the phone agents from requesting time off to be with their families during this time.  Instead of being staffed properly to allow employees more flexibility to use time off, time off has to be requested extremely advanced (two-week notice) with minimum availability.   Otherwise, there is a call-out process if you still need to be off.  Company operates under a point system (6 points to termination).  Surveys are occasionally sent out to employees, however they never address any of these issues.  Management is not consistent and employees are expected to be robots that work work work.

Nothing is consistent within this company.  The turn over rate is very high.  As soon as people come into this company, they leave just as soon because management presents a facade of caring for the employees but you notice quickly that this is not the case.  If you are a family member of the manager, you will get a good position and keep the position.  The good positions are most times not listed for current employees to apply for, they typically bring in new people to fill those positions instead of promoting in-house. You will be promised advancement but yet there will be none.  There is a point accumulation policy for absence offenses.   If you have children, you cannot take your children to the doctor or anything dealing with your children without accumulating these points.  This job is not built for minorities or men and women who have children and are trying to provide for their children.  If your children become ill, you will accumulate points even if an excuse is presented and  will be terminated once you reach their limit.  It takes a very long time for points to roll off (half a year).

I have nearly 20 years of call center experience, and unfortunately, this was the most challenging environment I've worked in.

The call volume is relentless, with back-to-back calls from the moment you go available until the end of your shift. There's little to no after-call work (ACW) time, making it difficult to document properly between calls.

The attendance policy is extremely rigid—more so than what I’ve seen at large retail chains—and not realistic for single parents or anyone with caregiving responsibilities.

Performance feedback was heavily focused on technical note-taking rather than the quality of customer service. I often received positive feedback from customers and felt confident in my ability to assist them, only to be reprimanded later for not documenting something verbatim, even though all calls are recorded.

Additionally, there is an expectation that you have all systems open and ready before your shift officially begins, which essentially amounts to unpaid prep time.

If you're in a position where you urgently need employment, this may serve as a short-term option—but I strongly recommend continuing your job search.

I love working at SMARTPAY! The management really cares about their team and they have an open door policy so you feel comfortable about going to any of them with any questions or concerns. Managers and supervisors are always there for you to give you all the support you need. Management is very flexible when working with you on time off. As long as you are proactive with requesting the time off, there is a very high chance you will be able to get the time off you need. The benefits at SMARTPAY are great as well, not to mention we do contests and when it is slow we get to play games which results in winners getting extra money and AWESOME prizes! Everyone who works for SMARTPAY are very kind to one another as well which makes it a very enjoyable and healthy workplace! Although it can be very busy with calls at times, the team here is amazing and you will always have somebody to lean on for support. I would recommend working at SMARTPAY to anybody!

You will be promised the moon, and given very little in return. The sales quotas are completely unrealistic and on top of that they lowered the amount of hours they expect you per week to hit your quota. 

If you don’t make 45 sales a week you will be fired. They act like you are gonna make $3000 per week every week but you get nothing but customers who have no clue who you are. It’s a shady practice of making the customer think we are the lender when in fact it’s just a third party service. 

The management is terrible!! Training was an absolute train wreck and nothing went according to plan. If by some sort of miracle you are able to always hit a minimum of 45 sales per week then you can stand to make lots of money, but that’s a big if! 
Aside from the fact from the whole morality aspect of even trying to dupe the customers into joining in the first place.

An incredibly high stress role, with an insanely huge turn over rate. Every week these idiots are “training” new sales reps

People are quitting everyday and the management doesn't know how to handle the call volumes. The compensation does not match the amount of stress this company brings. Management is constantly requesting over-time work from the employees because people are constantly leaving this job or being fired behind the scenes.   I would not recommend this company as it will take everything out of you.  .  Management lacks real call center experience. 

I have been here for two years now, and has only gotten better. Everyone really does work together, management is understanding, works with you, and can tell they 100% care about their employees. Everyone is really cool to work with. If you do good, you really do move up in the company. It is not a dead end street. If your willing to do your job, they are willing to help you rise. I personally have no want or reason to go elsewhere.

Management and supervisors are always attentive to your needs. 
The training staff is always there to encourage and improve your process and areas you may need help.

Management and team work really good together. Management is very empathetic when life throws storms your way. The team as a whole support each other and are very approachable. The manager of the Center is very friendly, understanding, approachable, and does her best to make each day fun. She also stays engaged with all the employees daily giving tips and support. I would highly recommend this company to my friends and family.

Absolutely love the work that we do here with helping people pay bills and helping to keep people on track. We have an amazing staff and people that love to work together, joke around and are very personable. When it comes time to work, we put our noses to the ground and get things accomplished. I love that we are a company that acts like adults and don't have to be micromanaged.
