Snarfs Sandwiches

As with any franchise that has multiple locations, how good or bad the workplace environment is depends heavily on each store. I’m thankful to work at a great one. First and foremost, it’s busy, so our paychecks always look good ($23-$26 an hour, god bless). The people who work here are amazing. We all joke around and have fun, and we all pitch in to get every task we need to done. Nobody is lazy, entitled, or mean. The people that drag down the work environment tend to leave or get fired quickly. The management is great! Our GM and AGM is are kind and work with us by accommodating our schedules and needs in the workplace to a T. The place can be stressful and hectic at times when it gets super busy, but the work itself is simple and engaging. The hours truly fly by here. We also get a free shift meal, which is a plus at any place! The work life balance is great, since we close at 9, you never have to leave too late if you close. Also, unlike in many food service places, you can work office hours (Mon-Fri, mornings/afternoons only) since that is when we are the busiest. Huge plus! 

Only cons would be the benefits and advancement opportunities. Snarf’s does offer health insurance, but beyond that it is limited. A 401K would be incredibly nice. As far as advancement opportunities go, they are certainly there with the company opening new stores left and right and therefore needing leadership positions . However the issue is immediate advancement. The jump from sandwich maker to supervisor, the next level up, doesn’t seem super worth it. A $0.50 pay increase for a lot more tedious of a workload doesn’t seem fair. I would say at least $2/hr would be necessary. Also, jumping from Supervisor to Assistant General Manager can take a long time, but anything is possible!

Overall, Snarf’s is a great job if you’re looking for entry level work. It pays well, gives you lots of freedom (schedule wise, uniform wise, and in the workplace. Little to no micromanaging)

I loved working here for the food, atmosphere and the ability to wear whatever I wanted. I left ultimately due to the hours being inconsistent, revolving door of management, poor enforcement of food safety protocols, no accountability for employees and disciplinary actions. Managers were hired on, rarely promoted from within. Toxic people with daily drama, laziness, bringing their kids to work, bringing everyone down but get coddled instead of reprimanded. Every kitchen I've ever worked at says behind, corner, sharp etc. The manager would bump into people constantly and when asked to say "behind" they just ignored the request. Unprofessional and lack of any attempt to correct problems. The owner is a nice guy with a great brand. It's a shame they're opening stores so quickly and I feel corporate slowly backed away after opening leaving us to have endless turnover and poor training. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Free meals, flexible scheduling for coworkers (not me), no uniform, no cleaning floors. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The sheer volume of customers and catering at the same time can be very overwhelming on top of janitorial, administrative, and prep based tasks that also need to be completed. Lack of support from higher management (corporate/area managers) can make it difficult to perform day to day. Extremely dilapidated facilities also make it difficult to work. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very casual and unprofessional. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come in, clean the entire store, make orders, take orders, clean up after the orders, do any dishes that come up, take temps, manage staff, deal with lack of prep, callouts, moody customers, spam calls, do some more dishes and then clean the entire store and you’re done!

I don't exactly feel the most welcome in this job; though I can recognize most is my own fault. I'm definitely quiet and anxious in the work place, especially when it comes to day shifts. However my store has some great and funny people that put me at ease when I'm able to work with them. There are some people (management and otherwise) that make me feel as though I am incompetent or inferior despite how long I've been there but it isn't anything I can't handle. Even with the cons of working here it is one of the best places I've ever worked and the absolute best I've ever been payed, so all in all there isn't much I can complain about. 

Snarfs seems like a good job at face value. The corporate side of things is atrocious. They belittle every chance they get, and constantly second guess your decisions. I wish I had never worked there. Biggest waste of my time. They will give you praises to your face and then talk smack about you behind your back. They give no coaching, and minimal training. 

Supervisors are disrespectful and some don't help with prep . Employees are young and don't want to work always calling in and showing up late. Employees always playing on their phone. Us good employees get treated worse than the lazy ones who don't show up. There are no raises or health benefits 

Working at snarfs is like most food jobs except with way less benefits the company offers no benefits, and doesn't value employees and gives no raises, without promotion and the first promotion raise that is to shift lead. is 60 CENTS everyone is underpaid and over worked stay away at all costs!!!!

Fun environment, simple menu, and straightforward procedures. Good opportunity to learn customer service. You’re standing on your feet most of your shift, standing by a hot oven. It’s fast paced, but you get used to it fast.
