What is the best part of working at the company?
The culture and the core values embedded into this organization is like none other I have ever seen.  They truly put quality care and service delivery for everyone at the forefront of all they do.  It is large enough to offer support to everyone but small enough that you never feel overlooked.  Wages are fair and based on quality.  Great company with excellent condition.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part is managing the limited referral base from the area hospitals as SNF/Rehab is not even given as an initial option to a patient anymore.  Hospitals have practically eliminated our ability to market and have closed their doors to community partners.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment can be busy and fast paced.  There is never a dull moment and you have to be able to multitask.  The culture is great and full of support.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Not one day is the same.  All of the things you set out to accomplish daily doesn’t always get done because there is always something that pulls you.in a different direction.  You must be disciplined and motivated to stay on task.

This is not a giant healthcare corporation- which allows you continued access to upper management and the ability to be seen and heard. This company has fostered my growth through multiple positions and given me ample opportunities for continued professional growth. There is a underlying theme to always do what is right for patients and putting patient care first over profits. This company continuously puts money back into its buildings to continue to improve its product. The company continuously evaluates its compensation and adjusts to match the market. I have seen this company take the ethical route in many challenging situations and appreciate working for a company that I can stand behind. 

I have been very impressed with the Rehab Department and Staff. The Rehab Staff is Talented, and provides compassionate Care to the patient's.  I am a mature Therapist who needs more time with Computer training.  My computer orientation has gone smoothly with strong support and  from the orientation staff..  I was not originally planning to return to a SNF setting but the interview process was not a numbers only experience. The Rehab Manager is very approachable, skilled and flexible  and is always available for feedback. In my over 20 years of rehab Experience a Good Rehab manager makes all the difference.

My Job at Southern Health Care was a very busy and productive. I was part of very proactive healthcare corporation that had the vision of be ahead of the issues and or any problem. Education is being the key of the success of Southern Health Care. 
I was very involved in the development, education and implementation of any new  policy, procedure, program and/or system,as well of the rolled out and follow up.

As well that every day was a different day at any facility, but keeping focus on the residents care and well being, enhancing the staff skills, keeping up the good work environment and assisting the management team with the budget goals.

Don't even consider working here. Management distances themselves from the employees out in the trenches, and frequently are condescending to everyone below them. The working conditions are horrendous, and the buildings are generally in disrepair. Be prepared to work over and do frequent double shifts as they are ALWAYS understaffed. The work here is unsafe if you value your license. The atmosphere can be cutthroat, so watch your back and be prepared to be thrown under the bus. This is a young company who don't have the first clue in how to run a SNF or LTC facility.

Traveling to different locations and being away from home

Very professional and helpful to staff members who need help with their work assignments

Assisting staff at various locations to help them understand why they need to perform tasks a certain way to avoid costly problems and improve performance

This co had always been there when I needed them  I felt I had good support with them I would still be there if I was not 75 years old I still talk with a couple at corporate office

The jail itself poor response to medical. Nurses leaving for no reason maybe got a better paying job

Open door policy to which they adhere ton

No one day is the same depending what is going on with the jail and the inmates

A typical day at work was very steady, working diligently to assure that all employees were paid timely and accurately. I learned that it payroll is a Very High paced, busy industry and being accurate was number one priority. 
Culture- Very diverse bunch, learned a lot, not too much down time which I loved because my day went by very fast.  The hardest part of my job was when employees didn't get paid on time.  The most enjoyable part was the team building exercises which gave us opportunities to really get to know our co-workers and just day to day laughs with my team.

My workday typically runs 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, with a combination of in-office, travel, and work from home, for a wonderful work/life balance.   I have the wonderful blessing of a great manager who   trusts me and truly values my input.  Management is extremely friendly and welcoming and they really care about the mission.  I feel I am well compensated for the role I perform and truly appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the team!


Mandated huge group treatment days to meet unrealistic productivity standards in an unethical way. The residents considered group days 'a day off' from therapy. Since they only got 30 mins of each discipline the rest of the week, that is a huge percentage of their total therapy that was wasted. And that is a lot of time that insurance is paying for not much. I refused to work on group days.
