I had to prepare five Homemade Soups daily,  lunch and dinner for the Doctors, Staff and Patients , I was also in charge of Catering and Homemade Desserts daily. I was approached by the CEO and management team in a staff meeting, I was told that everyone really enjoyed the quality, taste and vision of my food, we've gotten many compliments.
 Two months  later I was offered the position as Executive Chef, because of my hard work and dedication 2 years later I was offered a Dietary Supervisor position, so basically I was The Chef / Dietary Supervisor. At first it was  challenging because I had to learn the technical part of a kitchen (i.e, ordering, costing, counting down banks, employee evaluations and employee issues, customer and employee satisfaction and more). I enjoyed my position because I was able to bring my kitchen staff together.I created  job games, I taught cooking classes, group kitchen projects anything to make show the staff that they're appreciated. 
Cooking is my love, it's my passion but the look on an employees face when their awarded for something good that they did, it's an awesome part of my job

Southern Hills has an excellent staff to care for patients and their families.  It is an excellent place to seek medical and emergency medical care.  However, just recently there has been a change in the culture and administrative staff.  The family atmosphere is completely gone and the young administrative staff are profit driven with little or no knowledge of healthcare.  A business degree does not give you instant comprehension of the medical field.  Certain people are promoted and favoritism is rampant in the current atmosphere.

On a day to day basis no day was ever the same. Management is great very personal. The Medical Records department  everyone is a team player.File laboratory X-ray documents, slips and other information to current chart
Supply nursing staff with required forms and documents
Maintain data collection and skills acquisition files
Protect medical records from loss or defacement prior to the end of retention periods
Maintain current face sheet for every patient served
Process admission and discharge records accurately, and in a timely fashion
Maintain strict confidentiality of all medical records

I liked the people here, however the pay rate was not very competitive, and the reason I quit is because they would “flex” people off for whole days all the time. There’s something weird about how this hospital runs. There doesn’t seem to be consistent volume of cases. And HCA will count staff to case ratio or whatever and will work a skeleton crew every day. Whoever isn’t needed is flexed off. But they tell you you’re “on call” when you’re flexed off, so it’s not like you can get a PRN position to make up the days. I really felt like this place screwed me over. Anyway, that’s just my experience. Although I know several people that quit for the same reason. 

So I’ve been working here as an EVS AIDE for a while now. We have changed CEO’s recently. I have not noticed a difference yet in the place but we have a new boss in our department. This is not the first time we either, since we are managed by Sodexo. They could use a course in ethics and sensitivity training. No one works as a team and they don’t honor seniority. We do get paid well and have great benefits. A lot of new hires are friends of the boss and or they are referring candidates that lack experience. There’s on the job training but no room for Growth.

Used to be a great hospital with wonderful staff and executives.
Now just horrible. Management and executives give no thought to patients or staff. Cutting corners to save money and leaving nurses constantly understaffed and leaving patients alone after surgery. Lots of generic PR and will blame staff for any problems based on the hospitals dangerous protocol. Most good staff/doctors have left. If you care about your license and your patients, please find a different hospital.

When Covid hit but everyone came together with a plan

Diverse friendly faces and working together 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working the front desk greeting families and patients as the come and go. Getting charts ready for admissions and discharges

I helped to open a program there that, unfortunately, went through changes that did not benefit the population that we served. Politics and being monetarily recognized became more the goal of persons running the program. Every year, they made sure they began something positive only to close it the following year after a bonus was recurved.

	Provided patient care, within the scope of a certified nursing assistant, under the direction of the nurses on the unit while maintaining communication between physicians, patients, family members and other staff
	Data/order entry with typing rate of 60 wpm, transferred telephone calls to appropriate staff on the unit/patients, discharging/transferring of patients through the computer system, filing, copying, chart assembly, and supply stocking, floating to other units as needed
