A typical day goes something like this. Drop client meds off at 8am so that you can be at work by 8:25 so that you can be in the meeting at 8:30, meeting until 9:30 to review clients. Leave to meet with clients, drop meds, do individual counseling, take to the store, office, doctor, etc. Supposed to see about 3 maybe 4 clients daily, usually see about 5-6 clients a day, all over Washington County. Supposed to be done by 4:30, generally not done until 6pm. At the end of the day, go home and strongly encouraged to do notes on your own time so that they are done in a 24 hr time period. And if you are on-call starting at 8pm-8am, you have about 2 maybe 3 hrs to sleep. If there was upper management support in obtaining the tools, such as an iPad that could be used in the field, or designated administrative days, it would run more smoothly and there would be no gaps in services. This is a very high stress level job with the least amount of company support. The burn out rate is real and the turn over rate is about every 6 months. The team members are some of the most caring, compassionate and hard workers I have ever meet. I enjoyed working with that client population. I did not enjoy the lack of support or work/life balance. ACT is ideal for someone who may be single with no life outside of work.

At Sphs working with the community in need is very rewarding. There are always new opportunities to learn something new. The employees are wonderful to work with, and management are helpful and understanding of what you need to do your job, and when life happens they are supportive. Day to day can be busy or laid back depending on the day, client needs, but there is always someone there to help if you need it. Vacation and sick days are easy to use when you really need to use them. The hardest part of the job tends to be the pay when it comes to being a nurse, but for a job you can enjoy and see the positive impact your work does, decent benefits, personally I feel it’s rare to say but I look forward to going to work everyday. The team there is truly great. 

SPHS is an excellent facility in terms of patient care. Hospital maintains the highest level of care for the patient. The hospital employs top level of technology in the delivery of health care to the pt. The use of the technology has reduced risk for errors and where one occurs close to impossible.
Top level management are top of the class, middle level management is a work in progress.
One hard part of the job is the increasing level of acuity of patients admitted and difficulties in community placement especially for patient with limited income. Such patients frequently return to the hospital because hospital environment provides the best security and safety for them. The frequent returns makes provider feel like a failure in the effort to help the patient be the best they can be.
Most enjoyable part of the job is seeing your patient's improvement, empowering them to live independent and a more fulfilling life.

I was offered a job through SPHS with the Area Agency on Aging. The experience, benefits, supervisors, and work structure are excellent! Unfortunately, I had several offers at once and took one closer to my home in WV. The Care Manager role only covers Fayette county. Other care manager roles that I interviewed for covered 6 counties across the state and not flexible at all. This supervisor was very professional and willing to train! So close to multiple daycares and convenient for anyone in the Uniontown area. Interview, check it out, and don't overlook this great job that provides valuable resources to older adults in our community. Benefits package is excellent! Great learning opportunities, pension, paid time off, and tuition assistance. If you are looking for a great place to work, please interview and find your fit! 

The staff/peers at most programs are amazing but the management is not helpful most of the time and is honestly bad. There are few supervisors actually willing to help and are understandable about the stress of the job. The pay is okay and the benefits are good. Often times you are asked to work outside of work hours which you will not be compensated for. The clients, however, are wonderful and diverse so you will gain good experience with multiple populations especially since it is easy to get a job in a different program once you already work for the company. If you do not fall into the cliques you will not be promoted in your job. The workplace culture becomes toxic very easily especially since they are more focused on billing clients as opposed to providing quality care.

Staff all get along very well. Positive morale on most days.

Overall
Positive experience. Coworkers became family and the clients genuinely appreciate the services provided. Small unit to manage a large county so most days are fast paced and very busy. A lot of paperwork. Must be good with time management and multitasking

A typical day started at 5:30AM.  I learned about the problems that society had with Drugs.  We had 3 counselors at this facility along with a Nurse and Security Person along with the Executive Director that ran the Facility.  Out of the 3 Counselors there were 2 that really put their heart and soul into taking care of the clients. I was not pleased with the Management they changed things to suit their time schedule which made it hard for the clients.  

The most difficult part of this job was seeing clients that were my daughters age addicted to drugs.  The most enjoyable part of this job was seeing the clients that wanted to get help leave the program and live a normal healthy life without drugs.

Flexible schedule, job is fairly easy. Staff is not the greatest, management, the whole company is a joke. There is no teamwork, people do what they want. Treatment is one sided, there's favoritism, cover ups, bunch of mess.  There is no advancement if you aren't friends with the  incompetant boss. Boss has her best workers fired over nothing but lies, just so her friends can take their shifts she promised them.  If you are a good worker you will get used up and still not advance. It doesn't pay to be loyal. There is no advancement for some people. Raises are scarce. Not worth your time or efforts. Had a friend work there for over 4 years..never advanced, got treated bad over lazy friend workers, and they got to advance. Avoid and find something better.

I worked in a summer therapeutic program and I was happy with the way that the camp was managed. The staff that I worked with was welcoming and helpful and I felt like I was able to do a more effective job because of their assistance in learning the position. I was impressed with the professionalism of the management and organization of the program manager and would have been happy to return to work another summer for the company if I did not live so far away from the camp location. I would be happy to work for this company in another capacity in an area closer to where I live.

It was supposed to be an 8 hour a day job, but I was there longer due to Staff Shortages.  I learned about Drug addiction, and the people that were impacted. My direct Supervisor was very understanding and extremely cooperative. There were full time and part time staff, many of the Full time staff were willing to help out when there was an issue occurring. The hardest part of the job was dealing with corporate politics.  I thoroughly enjoyed working with the clients
