Training is inadequate, especially if you don't have any experience working with children with autism. The work culture is also terrible. Felt very unsupported by my supervising team, HR, and the scheduling team. One of my main reasonings for leaving was how inadequate and unprofessional the scheduling team is. Be prepared for them to make mistakes on your schedule/with clients and find a way to blame you for it. The people at this company will not hesitate to turn on you if it makes them look good. Also, the scheduling team takes too long to assign cases and will give you the runaround. I went over 3 weeks with ZERO scheduled hours (essentially went 3 weeks without pay/work) because scheduling did not assign me to a case and wouldn't respond to my emails. When I asked for more hours it took them a whole month to find a case for me. Even though I was working with two clients, I was only given a total of 11 hours a week despite full availability. They also don't pay for cancellations unless a parent cancels when you're on your way to the session (i.e. about 15 minutes before your session is supposed to start). And if a session gets cut short, you are not compensated for the allotted scheduled time. Also, it’s almost impossible to get makeup hours for cancelled sessions. There are absolutely no benefits if you work part-time. Hr is terrible, and the person running it does not care about your concerns. The company preaches the importance of communication and how we're all here for each other but it's all just a big farce. Expect your emails/messages to go ignored or take weeks to receive a response. I’ve had so many emails/follow up emails go unanswered by management, Hr, and scheduling it made me go insane. I felt like my emails were being blacklisted because half the emails I would send would not get a response (even important emails like client concerns, scheduling conflicts, pay etc). I felt very unsupported working here even after reaching out to my team supervisors, trainers, management, and HR. I would ask for help/advice for a client and they would just leave me to figure it out by myself. Didn't feel like I learned anything, and everything I did learn was basically self-taught. Working with the clients was the only thing that kept me going, but the experience was not worth working at SNN. 

Additional cons for SNN:
Travel time only paid when traveling between clients, all work must be done on personal phone/device, no company tablet provided for sessions/data recording, no team support, inadequate training, low pay, no benefits or PTO for part timers, non flexible schedule, unpaid holidays, low hours, difficult to get hours, difficult to get full time, no pay increase until 1 year of employment

Pros: I worked at SNN for 2 years as a behavior technician. This company dedicates its resources to help low income families in LA.  As a fellow Angeleno, working here definitely gave me a sense of purpose I haven't gotten anywhere else. The SNN team is fantastic, literally everyone, from the BC, BCBAs, through all the support staff. They will try to support you in any way they can. Especially Thelma, from the HR team is fantastic. I know, crazy to say HR is great but it's true in my case. Would love to see her get a raise. 

Cons:  It is nearly impossible to work full time as a BT. I worked here 2 years, and rarely got the opportunity. Some families cancel way too often. You will have to advocate for yourself strongly. The BC/ BCBAs  and scheduling team are overwhelmed. Honestly, the whole team needs a raise. Hoping the facility in Compton brings enough revenue that the SNN founder can then invest money on the workers. Because they really out here doing the work. That might be the reason why the turnover rate is crazy. Just a thought. 

All in all, support is great, people are great, the families are a hit and miss (which agency doesn't have that problem.)The pay might not match the workload but the work is fulfilling and the kids are worth it. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at the company is the clients. They are so wonderful and sweet. As a BC, you can collect your hours quickly and as a BCBA, your job is mainly oversight. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company is extremely misguided with their leadership and decision making skills. They are making choices that are clearly for the profit of the company without taking into consideration the workers. They don’t see you as a human, they see you as a billable number. HR is hopeless at this point along with all the other departments. BT training is just sad, with people getting pushed out to bill hours for children they are not qualified to work with. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was really amazing a few years ago but it has drastically shifted. The environment is to bill clients, keep them in services for longer than needed, and profit off of their disability. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
See clients for 30-40 hours per week, with no time to actually see them. Your caseload can easily climb up to 40-50 clients as a BCBA. Unethical hour distribution, observing clients being harmed and no one caring.

If you are first starting in this field as a mid-level supervisor, it is a great place to learn the skills needed to be a mid-tier. Other than that, the company is very flawed. Although there are some amazing mid-level supervisors and 1-2 great BCBA's, everyone else in the company is not that great, including upper management. Areva really needs to look into the people running her business because they are ruining it. They provide no benefits to their BT's (medical, dental) and do not provide them with paid time off. Which is INSANE. BT's get hired and leave two weeks after being hired. All mid-tier supervisors and BCBAs are stressed to the point where they cannot do their job efficiently. The new RD is not that great, does not respond to emails, and has a lot of favoritism.  HR will never respond either, so if you need anything, you are pretty much on your own.  The higher ups are not all that great either. There's a lot of weird things going on with this company and some things are pretty unethical. If you want to learn, it's a good place to learn the ins and outs of a mid-level supervisor role, but do not stay long. The pay is low for a mid-level supervisor starting off at $30

Having recently started working at Special Needs Network, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the level of support that I have received from the BCBAs, supervisors, and regional directors. Since day one, they have provided me with the necessary guidance and answers to my questions to ensure that I provide the best care possible to our clients.

What I appreciate most is the personalized feedback that my supervisor provides, taking the time to understand my strengths and weaknesses as a Behavior Consultant and giving me actionable feedback to improve. They are always available to answer any questions or provide support when needed.

The BCBAs and regional directors are also incredibly supportive, offering guidance and support when required. They are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in their team's success.

Overall, I am delighted with the level of support and guidance that I have received at Special Needs Network, and I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a positive and supportive work environment.

Pros: Accruing BCBA hours, families are great to work with, and gaining supervisor experience. 

Cons: 
Experience with this company was significantly impacted by poor leadership and lack of accountability. 

Employees frequently voiced their concerns about certain BCBAs and were often unsupported which contributed to low morale, and high turnover. 

Certain BCBAs had a hero complex and they took no accountability even when families frequently communicated their concerns to management leaving BC to restore professional relationships.

Communication from management was frequently unprofessional,  unethical, and favoritism appeared to influence workplace decisions. 

There was also a lack of work-life balance with expectations and workloads that often made it difficult to maintain a healthy separation between professional and personal responsibilities. 

All in all, they prefer quantity over quality and the ones that suffer are the families. 

During training we learn a lot on how to handle behaviors, do each program correctly and how to enter data on mobile or laptop device. We also have an opportunity to get a free Behavior Technician License through the company. Which gives possible opportunity in this company. They also teach procedure that protects us. If your looking for a job please try it out. I don't regret it. If I can edit or re-do this with more knowledge and experience I'll do so. In the mean time this is all I got. It's great for college students looking for reference or even progressing in the company. They seem very enthusiastic about growth for ABA and BCBA. I don't know much about their culture yet, but this is my first impression. You'll definitely meet individuals who are friendly and passionate about growth here. They've made a great first impression on me. 



Working with the leaders at this company has been a truly rewarding experience. Their focus on mentorship has created a collaborative work environment where individuals are encouraged to grow and reach their full potential. The leaders are not just supervisors, but true mentors who invest time in understanding their team members and provide tailored support. This has fostered a culture of trust, where employees feel comfortable asking for help and are given opportunities to take on new challenges. The leadership also regularly provides constructive feedback, ensuring that everyone is on track and continuously improving. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to work with such amazing leaders who have played a key role in my professional growth

A typical day at work started by gathering the kids up from lunch to take them to their next class. Sometimes it was art, and other times it as physical education. Throughout the day we did various activities that the kids really enjoyed. I learned that every kid is different from the next. What might work for on kid wont work for the next. The management was great, I loved the people I worked under. The location was nice and very great for a place to watch children. The hardest part was getting the kids to stay in one area without them wondering off or having to chase them. The most enjoyable part was actually getting the experience to work with those kids. My favorite part was the talent show all the way at the end.

Communication is lacking across majority of company. "Policies" and expectations are constantly changing with little communication. Little to no opportunity for raises, no annual performance reviews are conducted. Employees are not valued and seen as disposable. Company does not take COVID-19 pandemic seriously and sends therapists into homes without paying behavior technicians to get covid tests or requiring families to get covid test clearance. Trainings were through zoom and video lectures.
