I would not recommend this company to job seekers who are looking for consistent work, clear communication, or professionalism.

Despite ongoing job postings and claims of available assignments, there was little to no actual work provided. The hiring process created the impression of opportunity that did not align with reality once onboarded. This felt misleading and frustrating, especially for applicants who are actively seeking employment and relying on timely income.

Communication was a major issue. Follow-ups were inconsistent, questions often went unanswered, and there was a general lack of clarity regarding scheduling, expectations, and next steps. Professional courtesy and consideration for employees’ time were noticeably lacking.

Overall, this organization appears disorganized and unprepared to properly support its workforce. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this company to prospective applicants.

I have worked here for more than 3 years and have enjoyed it. During my time at special touch I have had an opportunity to work with some great people and help the elderly and frail on a daily basis.  You can move upward if you stand out as being better at your job than others, if you don’t, you probably won’t move up but you’ll have a steady and stable rewarding job. 

I had one grandparent that received aide services (she has since passed), and one that is currently with their cdpap program. I’ve only heard good things on the service side of things. 

Lastly, ive recommended friend’s apply for hha jobs as well as office jobs in their multiple offices and I would recommend others do the same, particularly to motivated people that want to build a career with a company that rewards hard work.

Very stressful work environment despite being a corporation still runs like a family business, nepotism is the common rule in this place with unqualified related to the owner individuals running the place and healthcare coordinators doing all the work , no checks and balances whatsoever some do as they're pleased and some slave themselves into 8 long hours. The only positive aspect of this "business" is that you are able to meet a lot of good and in need people that sometimes end up paying the price of a fractured agency that is all about the benefits they receive as a family and could careless about their clients and employees. Opportunity for growth does not exist unless you are related to this people or they favor you in any way. Supervisors are individuals that have work there for 10 years or more and they get paid only to sit around and abuse their power at any given time.

I never really didnt knew what hours I would have from week to week. It seemed to vary often and I would have call in sometimes and speak to whom ever was available to find out what clients and hours I would have for that day. However the management is very flexible and will be fair in judgement if a conflict should arise. The hardest part of the job is losing a client. It reminds you that your face maybe the last face that a sick and elderly client may see. The care you provide makes each day easier for them. The most enjoyable part of the job is the interaction with the families and clients. I have encountered all nationalities. There is always something to learn from another culture. From the different foods to everyday activities, the client's and their families allow you to be a part of unique cultural experiences.

I love helping people, being there when they just need someone there,talking to the when they need someone to talk or to just someone listen to, Taking them out to get fresh air when they cant go alone, try everything in my power to turn their frown into a smile even if it just for a little while. my goal is to put a smile on their face and let then feel and know someone do care about them and that they do matter.It makes me feel good to put a little happiness in someone else unfortunately the Elderly are the forgotten people. They need to know that they do matter and is imprtant

This company is lazy and unorganized. If you don't work like a slave for them then you will be black listed with zero cases. I couldn't work 12 hour cases and they gave me problems for it. I wanted at least 6 hours they gave me 3 hour cover cases whenever they felt like it. I was getting paid only 30 to 60 dollars a week. The coordinators are extremely disgusting, rude, and have no respect for HHAs, they always call an hour before a case started and expected me to get to the case within the hour which was not a realistic expectation. They don't work with the aides, patients or the patients families. Don't waste your time working for them you'll be done with them within months.

I enjoy working with my wonderful patients on a day to day basis. Many of my patients have become very close to me and I cherish the relationships we have attained. My patients have showed me much gratitude just because I can understand that they truly need the help and I am always willing to go the extra mile to get them the help they need. I also enjoy working with my home attendants and helping them grow long relationships with Special Touch's patients as well. I have learned that the simple things we take for granted many of my patients wish they had. A simple task such as walking to a restroom is very hard for them and I am happy that our home attendants can assist them with that!

Love what I do, love most of my colleagues, love most of my clients, and love most of our home health aides.

We work with a lot of sick, ill, and fragile clients, you’d have to not be human for it to not impact you somewhat but it’s rewarding at the same time.  Overall the company does a good job of recruiting the best aides and dismissing the individuals that are not in the industry for the “right reason”. To me there is no better testimonial than trusting a home care agency with your parent or grandparents in-home care and I personally know several coworkers who’s relatives are being cared for by Special Touch. To me that says everything you need to know about the quality of the service .

This company lack professionalism!!!... The coordinators are very disrespectful. I left this company because they had no hours. I use to go two weeks without working so I end up getting my security license. I even ended up being a shift Supervisor for 3 years. I only returned to hha because I didn’t want my certificate to expire. However, it’s not worth the hassle when I’m making 18 per hour, so many other agencies, and I’m in college. Half of these coordinators are miserable in that office. As of today I’m going to another agency.

Stay away from special touch!! They are very unprofessional, disrespectful, and unorganized. ..every check it got was shorted hours until I just had to quit...when I went to the union they told me they are the worst agency to work for and gave me a list of all the agencies with 1199 benifits...my advice is to avoid this agency at all cost...trust me you will regret it...instead here is a few that was on that list the union gave me...RAIN home care ...priority home care ...school settlement  home care ...unlimited care ...region care ...all metro  .I hope this helps my fellow hard working haha out there.
