My experience with Spire Regency was mixed, primarily due to significant disparities between frontline staff and management. While the majority of frontline staff were compassionate and dedicated individuals, the management fell short in numerous aspects.

One of the most glaring issues was the management's reactive approach and failure to develop services effectively. Despite frequent promises of growth and development, these commitments often went unfulfilled, leaving staff feeling disillusioned and unsupported. It was evident that profits were prioritized over patient care, which was disheartening to witness.

Moreover, management's lack of support for staff facing abusive situations, particularly with self-paying or insured patients, was deeply concerning. Instances of harassment and emotional abuse by management were disregarded or denied, leaving staff feeling unsupported and vulnerable.

The toxic culture perpetuated by management has led to a significant turnover of talented staff members. It's disappointing because with the right leadership and support, Spire Regency has the potential to be a fantastic hospital. However, until the underlying issues are addressed, the toxic culture will continue to overshadow any positive aspects of the facility.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The colleagues that I worked with were the best part of my time spent working at Spire. Also the free parking. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The increasing workload and not enough staff. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment was fine in itself, most of the staff were lovely but I felt that top management did not care about understaffed departments and the stress it caused to existing staff. Also I was just a number and not a person, being told financial figures were slightly lower than expected but all was OK job wise, then 1 hour later being called in to see the Hospital Director to be told your job is now redundant and you don't need to attend again with no prior warning at all is disgraceful. It's very upsetting for hard working, loyal people to be treated like they are nothing. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy and stressful for most staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Home time, free parking (when the car park wasn’t full) 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Cliquey attitudes , bully culture. Does your face fit and are you related to anyone else who works there? Everyone is related. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Blame culture and unfair shift patterns annual leave dates reserved for the same staff Members. The culture is a blame / Bully one.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Non stop shift and hardly time to leave your desk for a comfort break.
Log on to emails from various departments asking questions that aren’t related to your work and you have to find the answers. 
Getting other colleagues shifts assigned to you if they are off sick ( this happens regularly because everyone is unhappy so off with stress)

I desperately want to get out of here.  Its a vile place to work.  If you want to work in a school playground than this is the place for you.  It has always been an odd place but it got even weirder when the new HD took over.  They say it starts at the top and filters down and this is definitely the case at the regency.  Staff are over worked and everyone is always stressed and on edge.  There has been a high turnover of staff over the last couple of years which says it all really.  There have been some great managers that were there for years but soon went when she came along.  The last HD seemed a decent chap and its a shame he didn't stay.  Im only still here because of the people i work with and its convenient but i think ill be going sooner or later.

Overall a good company to work for if you keep to yourself and get on with your responsibilities. However, if you’re good at your job they will also give you someone else’s. The turnover in staff is ludicrous yet the hiring process seems to be extremely slow. Very much a playground environment between teams and the managers. Training is non existent other than online I.e information governance, health and safety etc. no formal training given, just told to get on with what you can. The people who work there are great, I just wish they had the guts to tell others what they think to their faces, that way much more work would get done and more efficiently 

Having spent many years in the NHS I moved to Spire for a new challenge. I have NEVER regretted it! It is a great place to work with an excellent team based approach. There are obviously some areas to work on, it isn't perfect but I would let any family member be treated here and be confident they were receiving the best care. People often think the grass isn't always greener but in this scenario it quite literally is...we have beautiful surroundings, hassle free parking and lots of celebration days throughout the year. There is also a recognition of good practice scheme, salary review and bonus. Development is supported and career progression encouraged.

Currently working 6 hour shifts, 5 days a week allowing for a good work/life balance. 
Typical day at work involves checking customers in, working with consultants, making appointments and booking in minor procedures, dealing with insurance companies etc. 
Hardest part of the job is dealing with difficult consultants or customers, or consoling patients who may have received bad news or are stressed regarding treatments etc.
Most enjoyable part is seeing patients who have received treatments come in to be discharged, or patients that have undergone operations coming in happy.

Interview was too easy Manager seemed nice ..too nice so should have picked up on the desperation for good staff.
Once in the job the induction was non existent even though I had never worked this speciality before and expectation  and stress was high.It was a case of learn fast or sink.
All staff that had worked there more than a year were wanting to leave. 
There was a them and us culture with management that was reminicent of nursing in the past and any negative comments were silenced.
I left after a year of toleration working unpaid overtime and poor management at both senior and junior level.
I haven't looked back since.

Spire has so much promise but is badly let down by Hospital Management.  Higher management is not too bad and I must admit it may well be just the hospital I worked for but overall, it does make it a toxic and unfulfilling place to work.

I would have to clean patient rooms to a very high standard before admission and during their stay. I enjoyed this work although as housekeepers we felt that we were not very important by some members of staff whilst others thought we were probably one of the most important. It was hard when patients came in for treatment or procedures when you knew they were very poorly especially if it was someone who you knew. It was nice when we as housekeepers got some recognition fro doing an excellent job.
