Managers do not have Crystal Balls to foresee Staff frustrations. I have observed and experienced, that they have the ability to listen, help and resolve issues, based on their many years of experience. 

I enjoy being a part of a Team, that cares & helps one another. There are many longterm Employees, which speaks volumes in the Healthcare Community today. Nursing Staff here, still receive Shift Differential & generous PTO. Part-time also, are paid PTO. 

 Getting to know the Residents, as many share their life stories, being there for them, caring for many longterm Residents is an honor. However, the hardest part of my position is watching them become frail, no longer able to care for themselves and enter the end of life process. 

There are things I loved about the job, well being there that is. The residents are amazing and so welcoming to anyone who comes into the building. There are certain staff members who really make you feel good about yourself and about the work you do. In my situation, I found that this wasn't a good fit. I felt that my spark was put out and when brought to the attention of who it needed to go through, nothing was done. I was so stressed that I got sick and wasn't able to be the person I needed to be for those around me. This company may be good in some aspects but for the role I had, it was not. No advancement (after multiple promises), definitely not paid enough at all, no job description (was told that I was to create one), lack of communication, and just overall unprofessionalism. It's disheartening for sure, but I will cherish the relationships with the elderly and the certain managers for the rest of my life.

This could be an amazing place to work. The residents are truly wonderful and appreciate all you do for them! They learn your name and face and often thank you for your contributions to their home. If only management (and I use the term VERY loosely) could learn to do the same. This is the most disorganized and toxic workplace I have ever worked and I've worked for some doozies. Directors, supervisors and managers often burn out when they realize they that their ability to do their job effectively is a non starter. Being a "yes" man for an egocentric and inept CEO who thrives on constant lying to employees and resident about his intentions and failing to lead with integrity or knowledge. He has absolutely zero respect for employees who really care about doing great work or improving processes for the residents. He'd rather fire good help and replace with cheaper, less experienced and more "compliant" employees that will cater to his fragile ego. It won't ever change until he is replaced. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Overall dedication, teammates and hard working people are here for your family members.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Upset members and/ or their family members, at times not everyone is happy about something. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Pleasurable, and everyone is very happy there 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Cleaning of the members apartments, with my co/ worker, and at times cleaning rentals when needed. Also the offices on a weekly basis as well

Pay is decent compared to other facilities. However, a lot of turn over. Can’t keep staff and call offs are out of control. Short staffed given the type of residents they have. Dayshift is THE WORST. Horrible supervisor that always defends the rudest and laziest staff. Very negative environment for a new nurse or cna. It’s no wonder they can’t keep new staff. Wouldn’t recommend working here unless they change some things within management and hire better staff that actually care about the patients.

St Mark Village is an absolute joy to be a part of—our stunning grounds, supportive leadership, and warm, collaborative team make it rewarding. The physical grounds are top-notch and well-maintained, the dining and activities show thoughtful attention to residents’ needs, and the culture here emphasizes genuine care and teamwork. I’m consistently impressed by the respect and the sense of belonging that permeates our village. Proud to be part of this community and company!

4 years as a security guard and over 23 years of experience the management I came to work for treated employees like family the new CEO made people feel as less than although I did receive 3 raises in '22. In the beginning of '23 I was traded out to a 3rd party security company who royally screwed up the place and I left. Fast forward 2 years when I applied for a part-time job I was told "I wasn't a good fit" although for the last 2 years they go through security like s*** through a goose 

What is the best part of working at the company?
It’s a miserable place. St-Mark village is one of the worst places.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They put wrong people in wrong positions.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible work environment, not good at all.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The managers don’t know what they’re doing because the manager hire his friend as a supervisor so what to expect!

Saint Marks is a wonderful community. Everybody there is friendly and will treat you like family. The residents are adorable and so sweet. Everybody works as a team in St. Mark Village, doesn't matter what department you work in. Management in dietary at least was very flexible with my schedule and requested days off. Even as a part-timer i was making PTO.
I recommend Saint Mark Village to anybody looking to work in a friendly environment.
