I was most impressed with the fact that they work together, truly. On a busy night, nursing supervisors roll up their sleeves and help with changing and moving patients, giving medications, as well as their regular duties. This even includes the nursing staff supervisor, who actually took patients on multiple nights when we were short a nurse...in all of the hospitals I have traveled to, this is the first time I've seen that. They tend to take care of one another, and night shift gets along with day shift as well. 
The hardest part of the job is that they are frequently without a tech, so RNs need to take on those duties as well. If the charge nurse is free, however, she will act as tech for the night so we can focus on our duties. Fortunately, they restrict how many patients a nurse can get when there is no tech, and we have the staff supervisor to thank for that. 
As my second tenure draws to a close, I have to say that I enjoy all of these people...their sense of humor, their patience, their respect and love for one another, and their dedication to their work. We truly try to ensure that every patient and their family knows that they are in good hands. 
It has been very hard and tiring work, but the staff have made every moment bearable.

The stress, working with the public, can be very hard at times, trying to assist everyone in a timely manner is hard to do because working in the ER it’s always unpredictable and it’s almost impossible to get everyone took care of in the manner that they want us to but we all work together to try and assist them and get them what they want in the time limit that they want but I will be honest it’s very hard to do when we are really busy all we can do is the best we can do in the time we have.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Knowing that the CEO and other officers couldn’t care less about the employees, only the profit margin that leads to their bonuses at the end of the year

It is toxic and demotivating to know it doesn’t matter how hard you work or how good you are, you will not be valued or compensated even remotely fairly

Filled with stress knowing leadership doesn’t care

I wish they had 8 _ hr shifts instead of 12s.7   -3  would be great

It was decent alot of people got along go even in diffrent work departments 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Nice busy day nurses make sure the cnas get a break

I was never able to get anyone to help me transfer people safely. I never got a lunch break but they still took it out of my check after me doing a time sheet saying I didn't get a lunch. I had more than 20 patients to take care of myself and nurses and other CNAs REFUSED to help with anything. The DON always tried to make me leave my hall without staff on my unit which would have put my residents in danger.

If you work nights you are shown no priority or concern. If you're not dayshift so you can smooze with administrators and doctors then you are nothing more than an employee. You are shown no respect and no appreciation but will be expected to care for 5 to six patients that are total care and you wont have a floor tech to help you. Census is based on numbers, not the type of patients on floor. Also, when something goes wrong, nobody will have your back.

Hospital leaders welcome and encourage feedback from employees to make the workplace the best it can be. Just like all other healthcare facilities, there are staffing struggles, but I have witnessed employees work together to ensure patients receive the best care. The culture is welcoming and will make you feel like you're part of a family.

I worked at Starr for many years and happily so. The last 3-4 years and a change in management was a different experience. Administration no longer has patient care as their priority. They only listen to director positions. The staff RN on the floor has no input any longer.
 HR is just scary. When asked to do an unethical task, I reported to HR and they said there was nothing they could do. I finally decided to leave because it just wasn’t safe .

The pay is competitive. The atmosphere is encouraging.

Like anywhere else staffing matrix places a crunch at times. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Mostly positive. I don't feel miserable at the end of my shifts.

Stealing, management not caring, verbal abuse from staff to other staff, verbal abuse to residents, management hires family members, pay does not compensate the workload, exhausting both mentally and physically, rewards those who don't work but kiss butt very well.
