SteadyMD offers a face paced flexible opportunity for doctors looking to be on the cutting edge of care delivery. They partner with a number of companies which is great for those looking for a variety of digital health work. One drawback is that the work volume is often dependent on the partners, but during my tenure with the company they seem to be growing quickly. Unfortunately they did have to do a layoff recently to correct for market pressures, but from my standpoint the company seems to be moving in the right direction now. I always feel supported by leadership. Remote work can be hard for some. I have noticed that some clinicians who don’t have experience using slack and working remotely can struggle and have a hard time finding work. All in all, I have very positive things to share about this company. They have helped me with multiple state licenses and have changed my life by allowing me to work from home which is something as a doctor I did not ever imagine could happen. I felt compelled to writ this after reading the comment that called out SteadyMD as a scam, which just is NOT true.

There are pros and cons.  There is usually a lot of flexibility in schedules. But you can get hired and then have nothing to do because the program they hired you for just filled up as you got hired, then you sit around waiting for work and have to email and find someone to explain what to do.  People get hired for an hourly rate in a contract, but some programs pay at a different rate or structure (not hourly but per visit) and sometimes they just change mid-stream from hourly to per visit payment.  A lot of important stuff is sent over slack and  lots of staff just miss important details.  If you are not savy with technology and computers, and able to solve issues on your own, you will not be happy as the tech seems to be a mix of a bunch of systems just stuck together.  Not  a bad side gig, but if they are moving from hourly pay rates to some kind of per-chart payment, the pay could be very unpredictable if you have no shows or a lack of visits-so I have to wonder how anyone can work there full time as a clinical provider if you have no idea what your salary is month to month--far too dependent on inconsistent volume.

This job seemed attractive due to the work form home capability and the promise of flexible scheduling. Once I was brought on full-time, I was told I could either work every weekend or 5-8 hours days with one of them being eery Satruday. This was not what was presented to me during my interview and I had expressed I wanted to work more evenings and was told I could do so.

When I started, it was like nobody knew I had been hired. There was no communication about onboarding and I had to email multiple people to find out what I needed to do. It took several weeks just to get my profile corect so that I could access the system to report my time and enroll in benefits. 

I was eventually trained on multiple programs and never really could get my feet wet on one before being thrown into something else. There was one program that I asked for additional training on and although it was promised, it never happened. 


Pay is less than I made as an RN, but thought working from home would be less stressful- I was wrong. They are essentially the middle men (recruiters) putting you on any and every program they can find so they can make as much off your back as possible. You will be doing multiple programs all at once. Some of the programs they accepted are ridiculous with no support from the actual programs because you are "hired help." The physicians on call will leave you on read. My biggest irk, the physicians who are doing the same job as you make at least double. For instance "we are offering any nps for these hours 20 dollars an hour, or 60 if you are a physician." Found a different remote job with much better pay really quick. Don't sell yourself short, youre better than what SMD sells you for. 

I'm very happy at SteadyMD. It is apparent SteadyMD strives to create an exceptional work environment through being accommodating and offering work-life balance and stability, flexibility, generous paid time off, licensure reimbursement, and an overall supportive network of clinicians encouraging one another. It’s a supportive work environment where gratitude and appreciation are very much encouraged and conveyed, not only among all staff members, but leadership and upper management as well. I feel encouraged and supported to become the best clinician or the best version of myself professionally. SteadyMD offers continuing education and ongoing live training in various healthcare-related topics as well. It's an overall great place to work!!! 

What is the best part of working at the company?
IT is helpful. Different opportunities to see a variety of patients. Licensing dept is thorough. Can make your own schedule. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Attempting to figure out changes in process through the never ending posts of questions. You never know if you have missed something important . They use slack for 98% communications. If you are off a few days, good luck find the important post on Slack. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I work autonomously. They do not valve nurse practitioners. They pay MD 2x the salary for the same job. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Seeing patients over video and text.

The company is overall unorganized. If you don’t have an amazing manager, you won’t grow or learn in your role due to higher ups not knowing how to delegate correctly. The CEO will harass, text and berate employees, all the way down to the associate level. Layoffs happens every year, if not twice. Like this year. 
The best part was remote but now they require those in STL to come in to office basically FT. 
Feel very much like a bait and switch from when I started to now. 

They promise you tons of work opportunities and then once you sign on, they have no patients for you to see! All they are is a terrible staffing service. They just want a pool of physicians and NPs to choose. I have no idea who my direct supervisor is. If you don’t bug them, you’d never hear from anyone ever again. It’s like you don’t even exist. 

I do not recommend working here at all. You get hired and there is no work for you.  I did not receive one client even after they strongly encouraged me to finish the trainings quickly, which I did. Other clinicians also reported not getting any clients since they started as well. Everything is communicated through a messaging app, so you just have to start asking around to figure out how things work.  No one even tells you who your immediate supervisor is, which is strange.

Great place to work! Numerous work opportunities with great support and leadership.

Nothing yet that I can think off.
