I worked for this company 120 days. I was promised medical benefits after 60 days. Asked and asked and at 90 days nothing but promises. After 120 days I knew I would never see them and quit.
Was constantly moved to a shift where they needed a body because they were chronically understaffed. 

Never told how my performance was, good or bad. No real direction from management just take care of the problems that popped up that day.
Preventive maintenance was never really physically done, just the forms filled in and submitted.

Late pay checks with some of the worst excuses I have ever heard.
Cockroach heaven, they are EVERYWHERE! I personally changed my clothes every shift so I would not bring home any hitchhikers.

Personally witnessed trays of product fall off of transport carts onto the floor and be picked up and put back on the trays because workers  were afraid of disciplinary actions.

Avoid this place at all costs!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Training and developing direct reports to be self-sufficient with guidance and then be promoted.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Helping develop and utilize IT system setups to run the entire company since 2000.
We ended with proven platforms. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Communication between internal departments and external customers became a way of life. 
I saw 2 decades of folks promoted to higher positions based upon merit and potential. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Identify internal and external items of concern. Prioritize. Address.
Perform normal daily activities and be available to help.

A typical workd day consist of either an assigned work station-Department or unassigned work station or department. Fast Paced work environment.
I learned to Utilize different skill sets adjusting to various unfamiliar work.
Management was terrible, No direction or Management Support. Very Un-organized Company.
Workplace Culture Varied Upon types of individuals you worked with. For example various people from different temp agencies mixed in with fulltime employes caused conflict in work production.
Hardest part of job was scheduling and knowing which assigned department to work in and work duties.

A typical day at work can last anything between 12-14 hours. And of course, if you are a salaried employee, you do not get any overtime pay, even if you end up consistently working about 20-25 hours overtime, every week. You may also be expected to work on weekends on very short notice. The corporate Headquarters is in Texas, so they pay the employees in California by the same standards, which really does not work, since the cost of living is California is very much higher than Texas.

Overall pretty good experience and the company has improved a lot over the past few years.
The manufacturing environment is always fast paced and high stress but that’s what makes it fun.
Always challenges and stress but overall the work ethics of employees is pretty good.
Not the type of environment for people who are lazy. Work is steady and the company has gone to measures to raise pay and improve work life balance.
Times in the bakery business has changed and so has the efficiency of this plant.

A typical day of work consists of baking product and inspecting product while ensuring there is no contamination. I have learned the importance of sanitary work. Management and co-workers are great, they are understanding and willing to help. I can't say my job was hard since i tend to learn at a higher rate than most would. The most enjoyable part would be my co-workers because no matter how the day goes, everyone finds a way to put a smile on your face.

Typical day at work is to arrive at 7:00 AM and leave between 5:00 and 6:00 Pm.
In the five years at Sterling Foods I have learned to be more patient and also the understanding of long shelf life products such as MRE items for military
The management team are very knowledgeable and dedicated.
The hardest part of my job is pleasing sales, R&D and production as a liaison.
I enjoy being able to get involved in all areas of the company from New Product development to maintaining the equipment.

I worked night shift and half the time there is not much to do, which at times can be boring. Most the time I spent was entering data into the computer and measuring bagels. Most the people that work here speak spanish and little english, which made it hard to be an effective communicator. Since I worked night shift, there were no supervisors around. Management is poor because I did not have much interaction with them and when a problem arose they would usually text me or tell me in person.

Time is against the accomplishments.
Improvising and still in the guidelines of SOP's.
Management was very understandable on many situations.
Co workers very helpful in time of urgency.
Start up to insure product is in spec. Reprimanding and letting go of employees.
Being ahead of schedule and conversing with employees as well working beside them.

Relaxed and friendly working environment.lots of new things learned technically so are cultures and positive behaviors of different people.Management concern on safety and welfare of the workers.The hardest part of the job is during major breakdowns that requires longer hours necessary for repairs. Most enjoyable part of the job is when maintainace people becomes proactive preventing major equipment breakdowns.
