Stone Bridge Senior Living

I visit a friend weekly, in the memory care unit. No one is explaining why, but I have noticed the former administrator is no longer there. Out of concern with the way the care has been giving the past few weeks with the way the residents are being left alone for hours at a time with two aides in the cottage and one will not even leave the kitchen to assist a resident who is trying to get up. There have been numerous amounts of falls and injuries. No one seems to care. I have great concern for my friend who lives there. The family has actually even put cameras in the room. It seems as if there is just no supervision for the employees. Its just one big party and they get to do as they please. The food has resorted to eating in a school room lunch. These people pay a large amount of money to stay there and now its gotten to the point i wouldn't trust these people with my dog. When you call in the evenings the phone will ring 20 times before someone will actually pick it up. Sometimes the nurses are not in the buildings should an accident occur. There is no one to go to for complaints. Everyone that works there just acts like it is some big party they are attending. Can someone please look into this. By the website I don't believe the owners would appreciate the way it is being ran.

Honestly, having a job at ANY fast food place would be better than having to deal with the administrator on a daily bases. Both of the women in the front office are so rude, uncaring towards employees and residents, you will never make it longer than a year there before they find a reason to fire you, or reduce your full time hours to "PRN hours" and then NEVER call you when the building actually needs help. The best part about this job are the residents that reside there and actually being able to get to know them and care for them. I was heartbroken having to leave them. I truly believe the high turnover rate is due to the women in the front office as I have stated that don't care, will talk down to you, and they are not interested in your personal life or what you have going on. They care about their paychecks and that is it. Also, PTO time is a joke, you'll barely get PTO hours and when you try to use them you will get rejected. When I was there for 5 halls two of which needed to be a two person hall due to the level of care, we would only have at max 4 people for the entire shift. Literally work anywhere else beside Stonebridge, it's not worth it. You'll be called in at all hours of the night and day even if you worked that same day. 

This was one of the most horrific places I've ever had the displeasure of working for. The owners are absentee, and when they are there they are disruptive, constantly placing anyone with a license in jeopardy of loosing it.  The Maryland Heights facility is ALWAYS understaffed and then the Director of Nursing "falsifies" records, with the owners permission, to reflect full schedules.  Yes they pay a decent wage, but you need to recognize when you are being paid "hush" money, the residents get woefully poor care.  They have had scores of nurses, cna's, and wait staff to simply quit because they can no longer pretend they don't see what is going on.  Check the records, four Administrators in less than two years!  This place is a danger to the residents as well as the employees there.  Under no circumstances do I recommend anyone to work here.  Just keep looking, believe me you CANNOT DO WORSE!

Working at Stonebridge has been nothing but a positive experience! From management showing that they appreciate you, to the residents I care for, to my coworkers who have become like family, Stonebridge has easily become the best job I have ever had! 

Issues are dealt with quickly in a mature and non discriminatory way. Teamwork is the main focus and function of the whole system and it is a great one! Stonebridge has really showed me what a job should be like and what great coworkers truly are!!!

Scheduling is another one of my favorite parts. I have a set schedule so I know MONTHS in advance when I will be working on a certain day and I only work 15 days a month as a full time employee!!

Management is very easily to talk to and understanding! They are constantly trying to do special things to keep everyone happy and make our jobs easier! They truly care about us as employees!!!


In the short time I worked as a housekeeper, I spent 90% of my day going between the dryers and the laundry room. Everything else takes 15 minutes at most. I never got a chance to clean a resident's room, though I was required to collect company owned hangers for clothes. As for vacuuming, sweeping and mopping, you must be careful because residents are not strictly confined to their rooms. I learned the special procedures for Bios which is clothing belonging to residents with Aids or other serious diseases, as well as the proper way to fold sheets of all kinds. Everything besides Bios was a decently enjoyable experience as it kept me on my feet . Hardest part of it was dealing with certain residents who's mental state has deteriorated, some of which can become quite violent or disruptive. 

  In general, housekeeping at Stonebridge was wonderful... If you don't get on the director of nurses' bad side.

This is a horrible company to work for. Everyone including management and higher up positions are all in cliques. If they or someone they know personally doesnt like you , they will all work together to get rid of you. If management doesnt like you , you will get wrote up every other day for small things, that could've been talked out and fixed for future purposes. They tell you that no family is allowed to be hired, but once your hired you will realize that everyone in the building is related to someone or a few ppl there. Very toxic work environment, no real help, no real open door policy (because everything you tell management in confidence ) they turn around and tell everyone that's close to them, break the no gossip policy. Majority Cnas dont care about they residents and allow they to do whatever, whenever. Horrible work environment 

I did enjoy my job because the residents liked me a lot and really appreciated what I did for them . However getting paid 8.60 an hour at the time really wasn’t making ends meet. I enjoyed some of  my co-workers but other ones were rude and bossy and took a lot of smoke breaks. Also sometimes co-workers would not show up or just leave at random causing others to work a double shift. The nurses would ask other staff like cleaning crew or kitchen staff to take something to a resident . Sometimes they would be at a med cart just on their phone or over in a group just talking about nothing. There was a resident having issues swallowing and I had to run and get help because there was no  nurses on the floor to assist. I was part of the kitchen staff anyway. Overall working there you know the residents appreciate it but the wages are not worth it in the long run.

I’ve been here 12 years and I’m glad to have met and earned a lot of good friends through the years. The work environment is very welcoming. Having good coworkers help a lot in the day to day challenge of the job.
The biggest challenge nowadays is the staffing for both day and night shifts. We just don’t have enough workers to easily handle the acuity required by the current census. To help out, there is quite a number of workers that take on more hours than normal. 
I still honestly believed the CNAs are not compensated enough for the amount of work that they do. But this is my own view and can be considered my bias. But then again, it bothers me knowing that agency CNAs get way more than staff CNAs for the same job if not more. Maybe that’s why more CNAs opt to do agency than work full time for one facility.

The smiles on the residents faces when you come to work day after day. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I don't really think there is a stressful part if you don't let it happen. I like coming to work and every day being different. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work e vironment is great. There is no I in team and that's the way to work together. Culture is every day is different and that'd the way I like it. If I came to work every day being the same I wouldn't still be there for almost 13 years. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I like that every day is different. I also like a seeing the smiles on the residents face when they see you. Also I like when they ask if you be back tomorrow  amd I tell them yes they smile from ear to ear.

I have the most awesome job!!  My daily routine allows me to interact with a multitude of staff, residents, families and also outside organizations.  My day is packed full from the time I clock in until I clock out.  I do have days that can be a little too busy, but I always take time to make someone smile as they do to me.  This facility allows me to have a huge extended family that each have a special place in my heart.  They are my soul food.  I take pride in what we as a facility  stand for.  For the most part we all work well as a team/family.....there are times that we can spat like family too.  At the end of the day we still respect each other on the team.  No place of employment is perfect and we definitely don’t pretend to be.  We learn from mistakes instead of dwelling on them.   I want to excel in my position and will continue to grow and learn daily.
