Worked from 9 till almost 6:30, standing all day. 1/2 hour for lunch and it took 10 minutes to get to the lunch room and 10 back. Mostly run by teenagers who had been there a year or 2. They couldn't stand to see you not doing something every minute. 2 extremely  overweight coworkers actually accused me, a retired professional woman, of fat shaming them because i recommended a restaurant apparently too upscale in which they would feel comfortable due to their enormous size. This is the only job i actually  ever walked off in disgust, exhaustion and frustration. I have cautioned several people who tbought of working there not to do it. The park is a nice, clean park for children and families. Thats the best i can say about it.

Story Land is a great place to work, sadly it is only open during the summers. I was a ride operator and also did guest support. I would clean the park and help guests when I first started then I became a ride operator. I enjoyed working there. I learned discipline and hard work there. It was my first job. The management team was great and very supportive and you got to meet fellow staff members from all over the world through their international program. The worst part of the job is being outside in the heat of the summer. The best part was making memories for our guests and making friends with the other staff.

Due to mechanical trouble with my car, Storyland offers a van ride which I took advantage of. It's a great way for students who don't have transportation to get to work. I enjoyed working there, meeting people from all walks of life and interacting with them.  They hire over 100 foreign exchange students from several different countries, and it's great making new friends.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As a ride coordinator we would open and close areas of the park check on all ride operators cover breaks and call outs. Taking care of all guests needs

A typical day at Story Land was ok but very tiring and busy and had no free time at all. I learned how to work with people I couldnt stand and not to always be on my phone and most of my co-workers were friendly and some were not. iI didnt like management at all and i still tried to make it work. I would say the most enjoyable part was being around the kids which I loved.

No work appreciation, with no work security. The parks different sections were broken apart with different managers, and too many co-workers, and the managers often were chosen to be promoted to manager positions, because of the length of time that they have been working in the park, not because of their background experience and/or their qualities.

Story land is the kind of place you go to for your first job. It's not too difficult and you get to work with friends and meet new people. It can be a fast paced job but nothing overwhelming.

Many of the locations I had to work at throughout the park were lonely, non air conditioned or over air conditioned, little shield from the rain, and on slow days it was hours in between customers with only a radio to pass time. Getting payed New Hampshire’s minimum wage wasn’t what I was looking for.

Story Land hires students who have VERY active social lives. They don't always give employees positions that play to their strengths and discourage/prohibit said employees from switching roles.

Story Land was my first job, and it was a very excellent experience. While working there I had been given the responsibility of running a show called "Tea Time with Cinderella" and with that experience it helped me gain leadership skills and time management.
