I’ve been a Commercial Supt. for 20 years and have never been associated with a company so full of miserable people. This company will breath down your neck like no other company - it’s called micro managing. Their benefit package   and compensation package is the worst I’ve experienced in my 20 years as a Supt. The higher ups make all the money and they use their Superintendents to do so. They expect each Supt. to work 12 hour days and only be compensated for 8 hours a day. There’s 0% advancement potential and after 6 months of employment with them I received a $20 Publix gift card as a “Christmas” bonus - after completing a Chase Bank in downtown Atlanta a month and a half early which is rarely done In construction  -  it’s inexcusable. Best of luck to any experienced Superintendent willing to accept a position there.

How Corporate America operates.
Dept. Management was really good for the first 4 yrs. then they got cross-ways with the Local Head of the Company and the Dept. head and 3 PM'S left Structure-tone. The next dept. head was not the same level of leadership and changed the culture.

The hardest part of the job was having to deal with the Dept. Head when he would come out to the site, make changes in the tracking of the job, which got all of the sub-contractors stirred up and changed the work flow, then the Dept. Head would leave and the field team would have to deal with getting everything back on track. After 7 yrs. he no longer works there.   

Working with my co-workers in the field to accomplish our common goal was the most enjoyable part.

STO is the best company I’ve ever worked for. You get the stability, resources, and career opportunities that come with being part of a huge international organization, but with the feel of a regional builder because of the individual operating companies/BUs. It’s a really unique balance that’s hard to find in construction.

Leadership does a good job of continuously looking for ways to improve, become more efficient, and stay competitive, while still genuinely valuing employees and prioritizing company culture.

This job pays the bills with some money left over. 
It's all about who you know and not what you know. Executives would bring on their friends and family with little to no experience and pay them way more than experienced supers. 
They talk about how great and how much revenue the company is making until it's end of the year bonuses time all of a sudden the company is in the hole. 
We all know that the bonuses pool is broken up a 3 ways executives gets first dibs then the inner circle worthless people get the seconds. Then what's left is thinly shared with the rest. 
If your not a executive or part of the inner circle don't expect a decent bonus even if you finish your project ahead of schedule or under budget. 

As a project accountant it required for me to work alone dealt with all the projects that were being worked in the tampa bay area. Handle all the invoicing for the office and projects. Due to the fact that the main office was in Tallahassee. I used to see the Tampa office manager once of week to process payments and for him to sign all the checks. Working alone was hard it was a little lonely at times when you don't have another live person in the office a little intimidating. what i enjoy the most that by fridays all the weeks work was done an i was able to leave early. 

It is a very good place to work if you are already established in the industry. If you are entry level don't expect promotions or pay raises as they just plainly don't come. Don't settle for a lower salary to "get your foot in the door" as you will be chasing lost money your whole career here

Work life balance is not there, poor pay considering the cost for insurance coverage, but company has perks for short term/long term disability (maternal and paternal leave). Typical work day was nice; show up, do your job and not many bother you. Major con is telework “policy” is mostly nonexistent and you have to provide an outrageous amount of “evidence” and supporting documentation to be able to work from home. The company as a whole has a great mission and work environment, but the accounting department needs work and revamping.  

A great company to work for.  Very family-oriented.  Worked with you during tough times. 
Always kept up with the changing technology.
During meetings Accounting Team would discuss issues that needed addressing and would work together with problem solving.
Benefits were great.
During 2008s recession our president found ways to keep all employees without cutting their pay by cutting some benefits.
As our work started to increase, our benefits were restored.

I've learned many skills while at Structure Tone. They have an open door policy when it comes to their employees and they provide training in different aspects of construction.  I was able to take part in the creating, developing, and training of CMiC which has assisted in making the document control process easier. I've enjoyed learning ways to not only perform a better job but to improve as an individual with the various courses they provide.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very difficult to find anything positive about my experience.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Enduring the misogyny, not being heard/considered and being disrespected and dismissed.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Dysfunctional, toxic and favorable to men.

Struggling to get through it.
