This as far as I know is only related to the Subaru I work at. If I knew it would be this way I would've stayed at my past job. Subaru itself seems like a fantastic company with a good well rounded career path and decent pay and benefits. However. For some reason I, along with a few others, happened to pull the short straw. Starting out you can find yourself in a normal work environment. Getting the tour, meeting your co-workers. All of that fun stuff. But that loving guy that gave you an interview doesn't seem like he did during that interview. But nothing to think of. Then you are handed off to the other attendants to show you how things are done. Alright, no proper training but it has been like that in other places I've worked. No biggie. You go along and do what you are told. Check in the cars and take them to the back. Hang the keys. Repeat. That is what I learned for my first day. Besides in the morning for the first 2-4 hours, it is SLOW. You get a car or two here and there and maybe a group of them if you're lucky. But as a lot attendant you don't have much responsibility with very little busy work available. So a lot of the day you are sitting around twiddling your thumbs. Alright cool, time to go on my phone and pass the time for another car or some small task to show itself. Nope not allowed. You have to look busy for a good portion of the day. Nothing to do? Go wipe down that window you've already wiped down 3 times in the past few hours. Go sweep the *outside* lot. I stress outside. There is dirt outside. We are in Arizona. Any trash and stuff like that I understand but there is almost never any trash there. That is where the issue starts. Now out of the short straws (because there is no long straw. There is nothing good about that manager.), I happen to get the shortest. Everybody else agrees. You know how I said earlier that there is no proper training? Well I get in trouble because nobody told me that I need another thing to turn on that vehicle. I get in trouble because nobody told me where this thing I need is at. I get in trouble because I don't know how to drive manual. Even though I made it clear before getting hired that I did not and that I would be able to practice there. Lots of downtime so I would be able to easily right? Nope. Haven't been able to yet. At least time that has gotten approved. At this point his hate for me has grown to a point where he actively belittles me for every small thing. "I wouldn't doubt it is his fault." "It wouldn't surprise me if he hit that car." (It happens often. More on that later.) The favoritism in this man is beyond reasonable. That same standing around being on my phone that everybody does? I often got picked out for it. I don't do it anymore and others do. Nothing is said to them. Not knowing what something is or how to do it or whatever else? Everybody else gets a lesson. I get a lecture and a scolding. I've been there for weeks. They have been there for months and are still learning how to do basic parts of our jobs. About cars getting hit? A little before I got hired one of my co-workers hits a car. Not bad but noticeable from what I hear. Nothing ever came of it besides a talking to as far as I know. But if I drive a little too fast (which I drive just about the same way as everybody else if not slower) than I get threatened with termination. Even with my car. Until the current manager is gone I cannot recommend working any small positions at the Tuscon Subaru. As I was saying before the company itself is alright. Most of my other co-working are pretty good and even fantastic with a few exceptions. Good compensation and again besides that manager and a few others just an overall good environment. If you do go in with this mistake of a manager, you will have the support of your peers. But it is a different experience for everyone.

You're guaranteed 40 hours here, but a lot of overtime, you'll get the holiday off but be forced into a mandatory saturday the following weekend to make up for it (so its not an extra day off) Subaru likes to do a lot of temp to hire which results in a revolving door of workers plus equipment accidents. Pay is decent and Subaru actually recognized the need to increase wages and did so while i was there. Like any place there's politics involved and some of your coworkers like to go and tell management everything they hear on the floor which can result in you getting reprimanded without investigation/hearing your side of the story. Subaru does a lot of "Diversity and Inclusion" which ultimately makes people of different backgrounds feel separated as some get celebrated more than others like the one in June for example. They do offer profit sharing bonuses and give them out based on individual performance reviews. Health benefits are costly for someone with a family. 

Work consisted mainly of me coming in and immediately opening the phone lines in order for Subaru customers with issues with their odometers to contact us. I would catalog their information into a system Subaru made specifically for the lawsuit they were going through at the time. I learned a great deal from them about the regulation laws and what is and isn't under a vehicles warranty. I also learned that companies create their own systems in order to stay ahead of their competition. The hardest part of the job was suffering through the repetitious nature of the work but the most enjoyable was the fact that Subaru took very good care of their permanent and temporary employees and made everyone feel welcome and gave everyone access to many leisurely activities in order to keep us focused on our work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They lied to me telling me that accuracy is important and to ask plenty of questions during training while in the interview but then two days into training let me go for "asking to many questions during training" when I was asking for basic training questions and confirming information to be correct from my first day. And the person who was supposed to be training me was just standing around talking to coworkers all day not doing any work 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lazy good for nothing trainer who thinks "asking to many questions during training" is a valid reason to fire some one two days in

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Abysmal with a staff of lazy liars who treat temp workers with disdain 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long and with 0 direction or training from the higher ups

Subaru pays competitively and offers good bonus programs. The IT department encourages a very fair work/life balance. They have a myriad of technical options and technologies. You won't be bored.

The IT management could benefit from some mentoring by an experienced IT exec. Subaru promotes within but desperately needs fresh thinking often provided by outside hires. 

Subaru does not do any mentoring even though it's in the performance goals plus the staff management offer no unsolicited direction or guidance on the department goals. Upon initial hire, no orientation is provided thereby requiring the new hire to figure out what to do. Management is exclusively project driven and impersonal.

Personally I really enjoy working here. I started off less than a year ago making minimum wage. A couple of months ago I asked to do something else and because I actually did work I got promoted and got a raise. To start off with, I
actually got this job because I had come into the service department with my own Subaru where I got offered a position after talking with staff. The environment here is professional, this is probably the only job where I haven't
felt belittled for being younger. I also appreciate this job since my safety and other employees safety is valued considering there's a pandemic. We all follow safety codes and wear our masks, use hand sanitizer etc. And There's always opportunity for advancement as long as you put in effort and don’t call out twice a week!

After 20 years in customer service, the eight years at Subaru of America were challenging but also had some enjoyable attributes.
Supervisor role had a typical work day of assisting and addressing call escalations from the floor/call center.
Quality Coach role provided enjoyment being able to assist both new and experienced advocates with their call handling skillset and ability with the overall customer experience.
Hardest part of the job was meeting the monthly quota for calls reviewed and QC sessions for each team/advocate.

If you’re into factory work it’s the place to be, best factory I’ve ever worked at but just got tired of never having any feeling of importance, feeling like I’m wasting my life for a paycheck. Benefits and insurance are great, 2400 Christmas bonus every year plus 2 weeks off in the summer and 2 weeks off for Christmas. Overall I would say it’s a great job but it’s just not meant for some people. If you can handle screwing in the same exact nuts/bolts on to the same exact part of a car all day then it’s the place for you

I've worked here for a few years now and I will say the job is very repetitive you tend to do the same thing every day only thing that changes is the equipment you drive. Management is cool but they definitely have thier favorite group of employees they tend to favor more than others. The training isn't the best at least the person who trained our group of new hires she pretty much just expected you to know what to do how to work the Subaru system in the RF gun and if you asked any questions you were looked at like you were an idiot. And if you make the smallest mistake it will come back to you everything is tracked in real time. 

The human resource department is a complete joke from the top down. Advancement is only possible if you are friends with the right people, or you are fresh out of college and can relocate. It doesn't matter how much you know, it's all about who you know. There are also many department leads who prefer to hire outside rather then develop from within. The pay is ok, bonuses are good when sales are good. The ongoing sales streak is an accounting hack so everyone continues to drink the koolaid. If you're young and can relocate, great place to be to start your career. Be ready for HR to blow you off constantly. The benefits are really the only benefit of working here.
