At 47 years old, having had several careers, various levels of responsibility, expectations from employers and pay- I feel very blessed to have my job. The Passe being still very new is still growing and changing but things have come a long way. I love serving a variety of populations (age and issues).  I enjoy working remotely from home when not in the field serving members. I am able to set my own schedule between 8-5 daily. Encouraged to take an hour lunch break and discouraged from working over time. It is difficult at times to get everything needed done in 40 hours a week and there is not consistent flexibility like you would think there could be, but I appreciate not being expected to work time I am not paid to. Nice holiday leave time / benefits / 401K. I work more in an 8 hour day now than I ever did in an office with distractions and breaks going outside and visiting with coworkers. Very little office politics bc you are not in an office. Get along well with teammates and supervisor bc we're not with each other all day every day. If you have a good work ethic on your own, do what is expected of you to the best of your ability, are accountable for your time and whereabouts, are a good teammate, able to develop professional connections and treat your members like you care and respect them (such as following through with what you tell them)- there is very little not to like about the job. I am fortunate to have a good lead. I feel appreciated. A poor lead can make this job very frustrating, unenjoyable and results in turnover and bad reviews, but there are options if that is the case. I highly recommend the job and Summit Community Care.

I have been working here for a few years now. The upper management seems to understand us care coordinators are over worked. They allow us to vent about the issues straight to upper management during different meetings. It is honestly odd that I have had conversations with the president of the company.

The bad part, it seems like they really don't have any say in what is going on. Yea, we can vocalize our concerns without punishment. I do love that about this place, but when nothing is changed, it feels like it doesn't matter. 

When I hear people in similar fields complain about having a case load close to half of ours, it makes me realize that we are being over worked.

Outside of the caseload, I just really enjoy and love this job. I love attending events and meeting new people. I can say that I am happy to work for this company. While we care coordinators may get the short end of the stick, we strive hard to make sure the clients get what they need. I guess in the end, that is all you can ask for.

If you prefer inconsistency in your workflow and constant changes not shared with the entire company, kind of like the change in Arkansas weather, then this is the company for you. Summit is the lowest paying PASSE in the state of Arkansas, and gives the lowest mileage reimbursement. They do not have a 401k policy, and others have complained about their benefit package for medical/dental. Employees are not permitted to contact HR directly, and opportunities for advancement are only known if asked. There's not a website for employees to review to see vacant positions, however, supervisors are continuously hired without any experience in the company. There have been payroll glitches, where people went days without getting their pay on time, or benefits were not deducted appropriately. The only perk is the flexibility in taking your lunch whenever you choose!

Some supervisors can tend to micromanage, others are amazing and incredibly supportive. High caseloads can be overwhelming to balance with the amount of work required for each member. Tedious documentation requirements in a system thst loads slowly & crashes frequently, which makes it difficult to actually meet members needs. High turnover rates and slow new hire on-boarding often means juggling additional members for months. 

I absolutely love my job! It is so flexible but at the same time very demanding. I really enjoy that balance. With this job, it's all about staying proactive. If you do that, you will succeed. The PASSE has came a long way since the beginning. Summit is on the leading edge of that progress. I truly enjoy working with my lead and team. A normal day consistent of meeting with members, providers and learning something new every single day. Summit is all about ensuring we stop working at 5 and enjoy our holidays. This job has an amazing work/life balance. At the end of the day, its all about helping people and Summit supports us employees so what better can you ask for?

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to manage a 50 member caseload. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They are always encouraging. If you are having troubles in your home life they are will to work with you. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Part time work from home. You clock in and set your own pace calling and visiting your membets making sure they have everything they need to make it through the month like a place to stay, food, and paid utilities.

Expect you to complete multiple task for 50 members who may or may not cooperate monthly. Never enough time to complete task, by the time you do a new month is beginning. Upper Management does not recognize employees for the work they do unless its a friend. Regardless of the countless complaints of 

documentation going missing, they still reprimand you for that as if your fault, but its really the system. They don't care how the employees feel or if members don't cooperate they expect you to hound them constantly and are never satisfied without documentation. Waste time really.

The pay is low compared to the other PASSE. The workday can be easy if the computers would work or if they gave you a computer that was needed after the warranty ran out and did not replace it for a week which placed you behind on your work. The turn over is high. Management is not good at this company due to mistreatment of employees.  Helping people with behavioral health can be rewarding if you get the support you need. The 401k needs to be improved tremendously. The job can be very stressful due to management.

The stressful part for me was working under a supervisor who did not know how to speak to you.

Training was bad not consistent. Management awful, unclear directives. Management not inspiring at all,love throwing their weight around. I was confused daily on directives from confusing emails to relay to my staff.
