Patient care is phenomenal. The doctors are wonderful and care deeply about staff and patients (in the departments I worked in, anyway.) 
The CEO & Owners do a pretty decent job. I have no complaints there. 

HOWEVER

Management is a nightmare, especially after covid. Prison has more leniency than summit medical group/summit health. "You can't eat at your desk because, "No eating in clinical areas" but they make you eat in a patient room where we see sick patients. nO eAtiNg iN clInicAL aReAS. Breakroom is too crowded to allow for social distancing. 

Cover your tattoos but not with anything with any type of pattern. Don't cover your tattoos? Write up. 

1 minute late? Write up.

Use PTO? Write up. 

Annual bonuses are nice, about half a paycheck, but the annual raises? $0.30.

You have to justify every minute of overtime via email. "I clocked out one minute late because the patient was late."

Management: "order more material before the 3rd covid wave hits."
Also management: "Why are you ordering so much?" All in the same breath. 

They tell you there is a ton of room for growth but that is a bold-faced lie. It's all about who you know.
Patients can talk about how wonderful you are constantly and it falls on deaf ears, but if you sneeze out of line you're reprimanded. Management doesn't know how to convey a message without being nasty. Learn how to talk to people or choose a more humble position. I seriously SERIOUSLY suggest staying away, unless you don't mind being stepped all over. 

Oh I should also add that I was not fired, I quit. 

Work/personal life have no balance and management is mediocre at best. Constantly changing policies with no communication. Pay is way undercut comparatively to others and the cost of living. Don’t even ask about a raise.  Nearly no training for your position but made to shadow every position in the office for your “benefit.” Health insurance is the lowest on the totem pole and cheaper to pay for out of pocket. If you are a patient with the office or another Summit you don’t receive any discount on services and will be sent to collections if not paid in full within 30-60 days. This company is not family oriented and do not care if you have  children/family you care for will be “punished” for missing or needing to leave. Favoritism plays a huge role in management and if you are not the type of person that kisses up you will not get far and picked on unjustly. Nurses/ non-clinical staff that have expressed they are unable to stay for various valid reasons are made to stay even when management is aware in advance they need coverage for other staff and did not plan accordingly for it. Patients are allowed to treat staff however they feel and never addressed for being rude or disrespectful to staff members. If you choose to transfer to a different Summit management will absolutely treat you terribly and try to make you stay longer then the mandatory length of time for training the new staff member. 

this is the worst job i’ve ever had. favoritism is so big with management. there are plenty of employees that need a talking to about their actions and not doing their jobs but instead they pull the ones who do their work away from it to nitpick and find every small thing to write you up for and majority of the time it is not true. they just go by what they are told my others and don’t even let you discuss or ask questions. before you get into the office they will already have a write up written up for you to sign. pay was good and benefits were kinda sad for working at a medical office. but that’s besides the fact. managment hangs out outside of work and is friends with certain staff in the office so they get away with everything. do not think for a second about applying here because i wish i woulda read the reviews first. i loved the people i worked with and truly enjoyed engaging with patients and just the job all together. it was fast paced and made the days go by fast. i was terminated over someone else’s word to managment and when i went to explain my side of the story they threw in my face that i am lying and that i needed to leave my badge and leave. the worst thing to happen when the week before i was literally told that i have high potential and do very well at my job. not the place to work if you like drama and to be crapped on everyday for anything and everything. 

A typical work day consisted of training new employees, as well as existing staff. I trained them on our practice management system, customer service, fire safety, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.  I put the curriculum together for these training sessions and made improvements by analyzing the training needs of the organization and making changes where required.  As a training manager, I dealt with the management team of directors, managers and supervisors. We had monthly meetings to see where the company was and where it was going.  My co-workers were a great bunch of people.  By attending our monthly meetings, everyone knew what their jobs and goals were and did them diligently. I had to train them on various Management/Leadership Skills to keep them abreast of the upcoming trends. The hardest part of my job was annual training.  Working with an outside vendor and making sure that all 1,500 employees were compliant for the year. The most enjoyable part of my job was the actual training.  Making a difference in an employees job is the best feeling in the world. When an employee learns new information that they may use, it is quite rewarding.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great organization, they recognize your hard work and offer many growth opportunities. Of course you have to demonstrate your capabilities and earn your way but I find it encouraging and wonderful that it is recognized. In my opinion this is something that is a rarity. I would also like to spotlight the amazing leadership in this organization which is truly unique. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Managing staff, the caliber of employees today is not as it was before Covid. There is a lot of unengaged, negative mindsets, and disregard for their employment. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Supportive and team oriented. They are accepting of all and want to help employees grow and develop 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I go to many sites to check in on the staff and doctors. I attend meetings, guide the supervisors and staff, act as a liaison between doctors and staff, train clinical and nonclinical staff, work with HR.

At first summit was a good place to work due to what you were told when hired. Schedule is constantly changing on a daily bases. You get called and text on your days off. Employees gossiping behind other's backs. Money was fair but you do the job of 4 people in the clinic. You don't get a break or lunch break. You are told one thing you can do and when you do it, you are tattled on and than wrote up for it. No place for advancement. If I'd known this company was like this before I started, I would have not took it. You are told things are a certain way, your days off are a certain way and when you start, that all changes. Your interview is not consistant with the job at all. I can understand treating pts good because it is the job, but they should all be treated the same and when someone complains, suddenly you are treating them rude and harsh which is NOT the case at all.I would NOT recomment this place if you need a steady schedule or if you like having a break or lunch time because you don't get them. You can't trust anyone you work with.

As an RN, I dreaded coming into work at Summit. Hands down worst job I’ve ever had. There was favoritism, unprofessionalism, and no consequences for bullying. Following the chain of command was not helpful as inappropriate managers befriended regional supervisors so concerns were constantly blown off. I have never worked in an environment like this and thankfully my new job is organized, ethical, respectful, and rewarding. Bedside nurses beware, this is not the place for you. Structured policies, safe procedures, and equal treatment are hard to come by. Having an easy schedule will not outweigh the cons of working for this company and I strongly advise you look elsewhere if you don’t want to go home upset on a regular basis. Doctors were mostly friendly and easy to work with. Upper management and company execs have a “dont you know who I am?” attitude.

A typical day at work was fast paced and enjoyable.  Summit Medical paid for my radiology certification and allowed me plenty of opportunities to practice and study for my state exam.  I was pleased with the rate of pay as well as the evaluations corresponding to raises.  The management was very competent and well balanced within the office.  I was provided with the opportunity to learn clerical and clinical duties.  My coworkers were amazing, kind, and intelligent.  I looked forward to going to work every day and enjoyed caring for patients of all ages.  The hardest part of the job was only on days which were short-staffed, but the staff that was present worked great together.  We all took on extra job responsibilities to fill the gaps caused by absent employees.

My typical work day, is greet each patient with a friendly salutation, check in process which is making sure all the insurance and id is valide, assist the doctor or medical assistance in whatever manner I can, then schedule whatever appointment. the patient may need to follow up. I enjoy working with people and I have excellent customer service skills I functioned as our lead Patient Service Representative, the work place in which I sat was wonderful as we all got along well and worked well with each other. The hardest part of the job was not being recognized for going above and beyond or out of your way to help others. I always get up in the morning with the excitement of going to help change someones life for the better. I enjoy helping others.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people are the best part of SMG/SHM. From the administrative to medical staff working and developing relationships with the people there was the best thing at SMG/SHM.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
This may have changed due to merger 4-5 years ago so please take with a grain of salt. The hours worked could vary if short staffed or if projects were occurring. I remember many weeks where 70+ hours were normal.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
work hard/play hard is the culture.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Based on position; however, I would arrive between 6:30AM and 7:30AM and work till 4:30PM, go home and then continue to work till 9/10pm.
