One must be careful.  There are a lot of elements to consider.  For instance, Are the physicians available for questions?  What does a tyrpical day look like for the office/?  Will  you fit well in that environment?  Will you recieve adequate feedback?  What is the culture like?  There are many MD offices at Summit and I believe you can not apply  one persons' experience to every MD office. 

As for me, my experience was very stressful from the beginning.  I was expected to see patients before I was adequately trained with the charting system. As a matter of fact, I was not given training on the charting system till I was there for a few weeks. and then it was a full day of charting ( which was overwhelming) Nor was I informed( at the hire date) that a compliance officer would be expecting my charts to be completed with in 48 hours.   I was asked about how many patients I could see in a day, to which I replied 17-25, once I was well aquainted with the charting  system.   I think the expectations were set at a high standard, even though I explained I would have questions for a while b/c I had not worked in that setting in a while.  I never did know who was trust worthy in the practice.  Additionally, I questioned some of the team placement ie new nurse with new practitioner.   

Additionally, i did not recieve new hire orientation until I had been there for over one month.  How is one supposed to be compliant to rules and regulations that they have not been informed of?!

I worked very hard to comply with all of the demands and made adjustments as advised and was making good progress.  However this went unnoticed. 

There were also some  unrealistic expectations.  The providers were expected to see 20+ patients per day with only a one  patient room.

I am sure not all offices are like this.  However my experience was very difficult from the first week.  Even though during the hire process I was assured I would have adequate training and support. Whcih In my opinion was truly lacking. 

There were many physicians and all had different practice preferences. It was difficult to learn the patients,  the flow, the way each MD liked things done, the co employees and the charting system all within less than 90 days. with very little feed back and what I consider to be inadequate training. 

I will say one thing, My manager was honest from the beginning and told me this would be a challenging practice.

I was hired and scheduled to come to Summit in mid-2020, right as COVID began sending employees home to work remotely at businesses across the company. Summit was no different, and thus pushed my start date out six weeks. I expected to receive an email stating that they would not be able to bring me on at all, but as promised, six weeks later I started my job. After arriving, I learned that the company had decided to make pay cuts for everyone at every level in order to keep from having to let any employees go - in other words, people had already started sacrificing their livelihood for me to be able to stay, and they didn't even know me yet. That spoke volumes about the way this company values and seeks to protect their employees. I work in a non-revenue generating position, so it would have been easy to let me go, but they didn't. Instead, I've been given control of a department and the ability to make decisions based on my knowledge and expertise. For me, this was a driving force behind my choice to leave my former employer and come here. The team I work for and with is amazing, and we all care about each other as people and co-workers. I also get to work directly with many clinic locations, and always find our interactions to be pleasant and productive. I am certain there are areas of opportunity for improvement, as there are with any company, but I can honestly say I trust the leadership of this organization to always do what's right for the employee - and seek to identify and improve upon any opportunities that are brought to their attention. I am looking forward to a long and happy career here with Summit Medical Group. 

Summit Medical Group is a physician owned organization, so as a PA/NP expect to work very hard seeing patients for multiple physicians every 15 minutes. But don’t worry, your hard work will go unappreciated by management and your productivity bonuses will be capped, meanwhile you’ll continue to generate more revenue for the physicians at the expense of your and your family’s quality of life. Burnout is prevalent in many healthcare settings, and how SMG respects (or the lack thereof) and utilizes their PA/NPs certainly perpetuates burnout. One caveat, each SMG site is run/managed on an individual level. However, compensation structure is pretty standard across the board. If you decide to work at SMG, understand this is a physician owned entity and during the interview process try to get a good feel for how the manager/physicians run that specific SMG site and the expectations they will want you to meet as a PA/NP. If you don’t like the culture or don’t think it will be a good fit for you as a PA/NP or RN, LPN, MA, keep looking for jobs elsewhere. To drive this point home, let me share one more thing with you. After separating from SMG, I interviewed and was offered multiple other positions at several other companies. These other companies were shocked regarding my job duties and how I was compensated. One of the physicians interviewing me at another company flat out said, “They (SMG/previous supervising physicians) were abusing you.” I’m generally a positive person, and I don’t particularly like writing such a negative review but felt it needed to be done.

I worked here for over 20 years. For about the last year before I resigned, most of the operations department evolved into a group of egotistical bullies on power trips. 

I was one of 3 people (including my manager) on my “team” to resign within a 2 week period. Even people on my own "team" turned against me and tried to throw me under the bus for things. (Each time I was able to provide documentation that supported myself.) The entire IT department is constantly under scrutiny and seems very unhappy as a result. It is sad to see them walk around like zombies- this used to be a happy place. 

There is an exorbitant amount of back stabbing at the central office. I was told by my acting manager that a doctor made a comment in a meeting with other doctors and upper management that “the entire [Implementation/Training] team needs to be ripped, and completely rehire new staff”. 

People are not treated equally- one person in the department I worked is able to work from home every single day; while all the others only have this benefit 1-3 times a week, if that. That same person received a promotion, yet I was told to perform duties that fell under that role. I expressed how I felt about this to the CIO and he told me he “understands my concern, but that’s just the way it is”. I was going to go to HR next, but my manager guilted me out of doing that. 

I used to love my job and thought I’d retire from here; however, I finally got tired of all the hate, took control of my life, and created my own happiness. 

Also, the insurance coverage is very expensive and pays for very little.

I worked at this location for a total of two weeks and I already was not liking my job. I ended up getting a interview for another job and took it.  I worked at a Dr's office for 3 years and I am familiar with EMR and how to schedule.. just have to learn to insurances and systems. As I was training I was told at one point I was "too nice" to patients and other nit picky things. I just felt like I was doing a awful job because of the comments I was receivin from the office manager. I was informed that  location had been through 17 receptionists in almost 2 years! That is crazy.. once I heard that I knew something was horribly wrong there. It is bad when other employees are telling you how bad it is and how many people have left because of the management. Someone had been there..if I remember correctly over 10 years? I have some family and family friends that go there and told me they wish they would have known about me interviewing there, they said they would have warned me.  Don't work here if you don't like being micro managed. I'm not sure how the clinical dept is but the front desk is awful. Not the people just the MANAGEMENT STYLE. One thing....it's funny how I was to nice and everything, but I was given praises for how I was treating patients once I put my notice I and had to sit and schedule and check out for two weeks.

Micromanaging underqualified leaders more concerned with getting smiles from the male employees than improving work processes.  True leadership is lacking, management will change mind multiple times daily creating a very confusing work environment due to lack of direction. No inspiration during work, only using manipulative tactics and schemes on technologists and employees. Very disgusting to witness.  
Pay is ok, lower range for the area. Hours are not terrible which could make up for lower pay scale. You are expected to do more patients in less time, you will never do enough in the "numbers" dept. 
Patients may go to one site and receive tests on updated equipment, and go to another and have testing done on equipment 20 years old.  Not the best for quality patient care.
This would be a good temporary position, or starter job. You work different places and can identify good managers and poor ones, unfortunately this company has a lot of poor managers in diagnostics.

When I first started working at Summit, it was a good place to work.  Patient care was important, employees were happy and valued, rings were ran smoothly and efficiently.  I honestly thought I would retire at Summit.  Unfortunately, with the change of management, along came poor patient care, unhappy employees, and inefficient work policies.  Summit has lost sight in what is important, which is QUALITY patient care.  Numbers and how many people they can squeeze in a schedule is what they thrive on.  The techs their do a great job, but due to them having to (cram in as many work ins as possible because they are forced to) I wouldn't recommend my family or friends to a Summit facility.

Micromanaging is a BIG issue here.  They spend WAY too much time constantly looking over our shoulders, when that time could be more effective for them to do their own jobs.  Unfortunately, "favorites" are here as well.  Like other reviews stated, if you're not in the "in group", you'll face adversity and be constantly walking on eggshells.  You'll wonder if when you come in, if it'll be your last day, because they will make you aware that you can easily be replaced.

I worked very hard and got great reviews rarely got a raise never called in sick in 9 years.     For advancement and money of company they were not willing to work with me and I was very disappointed that all my hard work did not matter when push came to shove I got pushed out.  No job security unless you are part of the group who are above all and don't care about others. Severe micro management.  You get talked too if you have a sick patient who needs more care but take to long because you need to get them more care and they want you to stick to script.  It changes often so it was hard for me to focus after realizing that the patient is not top priority.  I did really like my supervisor but after I left I was told from others that I was openly  talked about and thrown under a bus.  Sad that money comes first in the medical field and someone who truly cares is not what they wanted.

This by far is the most demoralizing place you could possibly work for. There is such a lack of communication in the office. Management doesn't hold anyone accountable for doing there jobs. It's a great place to get your online shopping done if you are part of the office staff. All the doctors are on completely different pages, no one operates in similar fashion. They neglect patients for extended periods of time. You get increased workloads without an increase in pay. The insurance is absolutely horrible. You are better off paying out of pocket. There is a lot of hostility in all departments. People will purposely try to get you fired if they feel their toes have been stepped on. Malpractice is constantly being tip toed around. Exceptions are made for friends, but not patients in need. Please just spare yourself unless you already know the doctor you are working for.

My previous review got deleted, so I’m writing another. The position I was in had such a high turnover rate I can’t even remember how many they said had been through that position. Management was horrendous. Expected absolutely impossible standards of work but did not give you enough hours even though I asked to stay late to complete my work. I was Constantly sent home early to save money, but then got in trouble because I couldnt get everything done?! I got Written up because I didnt have time to balance the payments after every payment received BECAUSE I WAS TOO BUSY trying to keep up with everything else. It’s quite impossible when you’re one person doing everything in the office and no one offers to help you either, but does nothing but criticize. Don’t work here. Just don’t.
