I worked the evening shift 3-11 p.m. I would clock in see where I was at on the schedule and go to my station for report and narc count.During report we would make rounds therefore we could physically see every pacients .I would take the keys and begin my first med pass then id come to my station and look at orders or make calls to drs.depends on the work load if I was on 100 hall we would typically have up 2 20 pacients and on the long term halls we would have up 2 40 so id planmy day around what was pertinent and what could be done later carrying out drs. orders,ordering medications,calling lab results to drs,or calling drs, because a pacient had fallen,was sick,or even just requesting something that had to be approved by the dr. after all that was completed I would chart on my 3-11 charting and be back on the floor passing the bedtime meds by 9:00 pm  .I learned how to multi task and to work well under pressure I also learned about team work I loved my coworkers and most of them were very helpful.I think management was the problem at this facility especially the relashioinship between 1 of our supervisors and the don it made our job harder because the supervisor was very mean made several mistakes and liked to cause trouble.The hardest part of the job was time management because of the amount of pacients to staff ratio.The best part of my job was when I helped my pacients whatever it may be to the bathroom,controlled their pain,encouraged them, made them smile that is why I became a nurse to help people sumtimes we are the only people they see sumtimes we are the last so if I did anything to give sumbody a little bit of happiness reguarless of what it was I did my job.

The place is great but it's such a toxic place coworker wise it's unbelievable. Most departments are good and there are a lot of hard working people there. In my department the volunteer work was given to me to complete in two days whereas anyone else who worked four to six days didn't have to do it, or couldn't complete it. My termination was based on a technicality where my former employer didn't give a notice that they were then going to treat me like dirt. My former boss is telling people to not let me in the building or around the property and they don't own the place and ignoring my attempts to reach out and find out what is going on. Not to mention my supposed coworker threw me under the bus and proceeded to talk to me as if I were causing a scene, interrupting my conversation with two employees about who to contact about the wrongful acts bestowed upon me. It's such a cut throat and totally lacking in areas for moving up in the company. Some of the cruelest people work there as nurses and department heads. They need a new department made to look into terminations and determine whether or not they are correct. Constantly have to be moving or else your character is judged and called into question, your work is then overlooked due to the missing of one element, and then given the boot once they have nothing else to say to you. If I were you, I'd look for another company because this one is not suitable for anyone.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is really nothing positive about this facility. I feel bad for the residents there. Always short staffed and management doesn't care. Your checks are always wrong.

Always short staffed 17-25 total care residents.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You are isolated in this facility they have groups of people that bullie people and most people are related,dating or married.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very hard you want to care for the residents on your assignment but it's almost impossible. You feel guilty because it's not quality care. You start your day doing VS then breakfast after that you do changes until lunch 3 to 4 hoyer shows changes until dinner and go home exusted.

I have seen a lot of things happen that I do not approve of.  Management has changed for the 4th time.  There is no Teamwork in this facility, computer system changes to electronic and nothing coincides with documentation.  DON & ADON holds lots of meetings and asks suggestions on how we can make our facility better but they shoot every suggestion down. They plan on making everyone miserable enough to make them all quit and believe me some of our best nurses have already left.  Admissions Nurse takes way too long to get an admission done, like 8 hrs too long.  A lot of talking when they should be working.  They want 30 days advanced notice for PTO but schedules are only 2 weeks advanced.  Stay Away!

So far my experience at this facility has been somewhat tolerable. Most of the employees that I've encountered and worked with were very helpful, hard working and considerate of one another. Some not so much; instead they were lazy and unprofessional. However the main issue I have with this facility is the indecent management, low rate pay and lack of benefits/incentives. Majority of the time the facility is very short staffed and it overwhelms the very few hardworking, respectable employees. When this occurs employees aren't offered any type of incentive for helping out when needed. Instead your offered the guilt trip or a rude attitude. Also the pay rate isn't worth the amount of stress that the job can cause and raises rarely occur. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
None.  We don't have the supply's to do the job we need to do. Patients and families always calling State. We are be investigated often. Changes ownership often.

Not having what is needed to take care of our patients. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
People from all walks of life. People are overworked because they can't keep staff.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You go in to a stress and it just increases as the shift goes.  Patients always complaining that aren't being changed a d their ligh is on for long periods of time before they are answered.

Henderson, NV facility that has a high turnover rate. Large facility that has vent unit, LTC, rehab and memory care. Everyone seems to be looking for another job. Many complaints about favoritism among nurses from the Philippines. English is a second language at report and other conversations around the nurses station. You always wonder what they’re talking about. I feel like I can do a lot better and am currently searching for employment elsewhere. The pay is low and they always offer the lowest start pay they think they can get away with. LPNs are also overworked. This place is a last resort. I don’t recommend.

I was often given clients in respite care because I was qualified. I stated on the form I was given that I did not want respite care clients. They do not read the form given to us on what we want to do, hours we want to work, type of client we will work with and living conditions such as smoking, hoarding etc. Most of my clients were very enjoyable, and I liked helping them and developed a good working relationship with them. Even though I stated I was unable to work with smoking clients because I was allergic to smoke I was given several clients who smoked.  When I told them I would not go back to their home because they smoked they became upset.

They are friendly and they can help anyone. they treat everyone fairly and equally, I know! it's because they treat me with love and respect. Working with the elders it's a challenge, Each days you will learn new things but you must have to have a LOTs of patience LOL. I really love to hear their lifetime stories lol. but you gotta get used to it. some days they will have good/bad days but you have to understand they are elders and it depends on which client you're working for. As long as you do your job with honest and respectful and always have lots of patients and be on time! YOUR GOOD!!

It is an okay place to work, management isn't great in terms of their job, but they are really nice and friendly. Quite a lot had been called to work and had to cancel my plans. because somebody haven't showed up for work. Days can be tough or very delightful depending on the staff you are working with. For domestic staff (Cleaners, Kitchen staff etc.) no many opportunities to advance, pretty much stuck in the same place. Staff is very friendly, multicultural and always there for help.
