When I worked here, the training for the state exam was okay but it was only 2 days. However, the training for the other licenses was actually amazing. Everything was pretty good until I got pregnant. Shorty after notifying the director and my supervisor of my pregnancy I was switched over the T2 sales when I was barely making it in T1 which I thought was ridiculous because at that point it was almost impossible to get and commission. Then a month or 2 go by and I started to get complaints and write ups about my break usage (break selection was the only option to select when going to the bathroom and/or getting something to drink, a snack, as a question from a supervisor, etc & the maximum allowed time for breaks is 15 mins per day unless your going out for lunch). When I explained to them the obvious of having to go to the restroom more the further along I get in pregnancy, their response was “we understand that but we still need you to sign this document agreeing to lower your break usage, it’s just a formality”. Low and behold they used that to fire me. So I’ll say if you’re a young woman who plans on having children, DO NOT WORK HERE. 
Oh and for the favoritism, they kept a woman there whom was late almost everyday without notes just because she was a top agent yet I got fired for going to the restroom too many times. I even got in trouble for not logging in on ADP (didn’t even know we had to do that until after getting written up for it) that I’d be late due to a prenatal appt even though I told my supervisor AND provided a doctor’s note to HR. Another favoritism issue was that employees couldn’t use puzzles or anything while waiting for calls to come in yet the Supplement team was allowed to play indoor mini golf and catch which made no sense to me. They also kept another guy there whom had complaints from customers for hanging up on them and yelling at them just because he was a top sales agent. Lastly they had a couple there that met at work and started dating there and they sat them right next to each other knowing they were dating. Would never recommend this place. This place is a joke and I wouldn’t be surprised if they have lawsuits for the way they treat people. 

Best part of the job is the pay, it’s one of the better options of job pay in the beckley area that is achievable. However, the job is very stressful regarding the job security, and the management isn’t always the best. Very hard to get responses to any questions on the phone, which ends up making the company look very unprofessional and makes you look like an idiot. They expect you to find your own answers fresh out of training. If they think your questions are stupid, you will not receive a response, if you get one it’ll be an obvious very unhelpful and short response. Overall quite frustrating, they make it very hard to hit comp goals at all on enrollments so you basically only work for your clock in pay if you don’t hit the sales goal for those applications. They do their part in giving motivation, but with the stresses of worrying everyday whether you will have a job or not the next day is so extremely stressful! They always tell you it’s a performance based job, but I’ve heard so many things from former agents I am in constant stress over if I will have a job at the end of AEP, or even next week for that matter! They can’t ever be straight with you on questions either, they’ll always say they don’t know and will let us know when they do. Think of it as you being the customer and the leads are treating you the same way, won’t be straight with you just want your compliance so they can make you do or feel what they want! Sometimes you never even see your comp plan so you have no idea what you’re making. Also pro tip- be very up to date on checking your paycheck breakdowns!! I’ve had 2 of my compensations for AEP get “missed” or incorrectly reported by sales directors and even higher ups! It also sucks that you have no set schedule, you work until cut, which can be 13 hour shifts everyday, making it impossible to have any sort of life other than insurance. The main and only reason I stay is souley for the clock in pay and that it is work from home, but from the look of things a lot of us won’t even have jobs at the end of AEP so having a backup plan is a MUST!  So much more could be said about this company, but this is just a little summary of what it is you’re possibly getting into at least with the beckley sites in 2024! 

Never did a sales job before until I got hired with this company. Work for like a year. Got license through them that they paid and you do keep it, but they do hold it for like 6 month so you can’t do anything with it for that long. Company changes rule, programs team leads etc. throughout each month or it can happen in a week or so. Which means that you have to adapt to those changes. At the beginning, they hire many people with or without license. The company those this massive hiring every  year and it becomes more clear as at the end of year, they weeded out those who can’t perform Job(numbers game). It’s sales job so you do have to keep selling. They hold it against if a you don’t sell. Be it that the client does it want it, has a good plan, or whatever. They look how many calls you take because you should be selling at least 1 in their mind. They might not bring it up to you all the time unless you start dipping down more that they would like it to be. Pretty sure there is favoritism to the top sellers, and that they sell no matter the client circumstances, or they mention certain stuff in a way to paint some that is not to sell it. I have no regrets working here, culture was mid or they try. Free food some time, and always during sep. you will learn about Medicare and good plans and bad plans. Also, they want you to try to sell to the client even if the plan they have a “competitive”, because if they say yes to a plan you sucks. It means that they might be stuck with it for three months until they can changes which is how they get pay by third parties. Money is fair, thou if you don’t have heart or don’t care about what you selling. It’s hourly pay plus commission. Company controls the commission since they pay hr. So goals might be easy to meet or not. It’s not for everyone. It’s good experience if this is what you want to do. But I would always have like a backup plan or job for they fire or if you leave.

I worked here for only a few months and was let go for ‘lack of work’. When my training class was hired we were not made aware that it was a ‘temporary’ position. They hired like 200 of us ONLY for the AEP (annual enrollment period) , with promises of 5-8k paychecks from commissions. We started hearing rumors that they always lay mostly everyone off afterwards in December, but when any of us asked they would always give us the run around, basically saying ‘probably not, but it’s based off of company needs’. Low and behold, they laid more than half of us off, and put the other half on furlough for 4 weeks, only to be brought back and put in ‘qualifying’ and not sales! So I was laid off, but someone I know still works there and says now they’re hiring hundreds of people but keeping her in qualifying (where they ask basic questions to see if custs are ale to get a plan, than transfer them to a sales agent t sign them up! But the kicker is THEY ALREADY ARE SALES AGENTS SO WHY DO THEY HAVE TO TRANSFER THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE?!! That leaves the sale up to that person so if they don’t close it than you don’t get paid!), but bringing in all these new people and getting them right over to sales, OR they keep them in qualifying but give them all the good leads so they’re able to get sales and the managers say they do that to ‘help build their confidence’! So you sit there for 8 hours a day re-calling the same tired leads who either don’t answer or hang up on you, getting no commission because you’re getting no sales. And to make matters worse, the new sales manager made up a rule that you’re not allowed to read at your desk anymore, or do ANYTHING other than stare at the computer for 8 hours getting all voicemails. It’s depressing now. When I was there last year we were allowed to color, draw, knit, do puzzles, anything to keep us busy while waiting to talk to a real person! It’s become a prison, with no money to be made.

It seemed like an MLM or Pyramid sales scheme... we were slipped info by our PM's like they were our "friends" or being "honest and transparent" about their bonuses and finances... yet never got true individual coaching to benefit both US and THEM... simply jokes about how much they took paycuts about underperformance from us agents and then whenever we DID advance it was hard negative criticism (not constructive, or helpful towards 'correct and fix' sorta thing) about how much money we were losing for THEM. We are the downline. The bonus structure is fed like rainbow unicorn baby food and isn't actually paid out how initially explained. The retention rate is ABSURD. If you have friends within your site or coworkers and talk within a regular level or have any sort of sarcastic conversation, you will be monitored via the management and persecuted. 

Also- there is NO $2 raise as propagated in orientation after 6 months- rather, after AEP they hired a new wave of agents for a full dollar/hr more than we were already struggling to make while entirely incapable of handling adult tasks... we work during regular business hours and PTO is "accrued" each paycheck or as an "incentive" for OT days... but you very much cannot use it. So, you instead "accrue" write-ups and end up walking on thin ice regardless of your quality performance or knowledge with the policies. Simply because the statistics and performance percentages are more important than ethical and well aligned client sales and satisfaction.

1. You don't start getting bonus til 6-7 months when you have a placement rate, nobody tells you this straight up, it's always different answers until you're locked in and on the phone.
2. Managers treat new agents awful, they will frown on a unforeseen emergency then cut your hours short because you have one.
3. They will put you on the phone to start selling with minimal training and then retaliate when you mess up on the phone, managers are not readily available to help, we use teams chat and 90% of the time you're stuck on a call don't know what to do and no answer from managers, other colleagues are more helpful but sometimes they tell u something wrong.
4. A bunch of team leads that will tell you 100 different things, I had a leader downplay a situation like it was no big deal then I listen to another one repremand others about it and threatened with disciplinary actions. (Don't listen to one leader!)
5. Compliance is supposed to be what us as agents keep at the forefront because our licences will be at risk, but during AEP that's the least of their problems, SALES is their biggest concerns and when you try to be compliant and ethical they act like you're doing something wrong.
6. Job is not secure, I'm yet to get a straight answer to whether or not after AEP or OEP there will be a job

You may get hired for a different job/role than what you applied for and they won't tell you until you are a few days into training. 
Terrible support system and constant change in team leads. You may even be assigned a manager who doesn't have experience with the product/department you're in. This caused many teams/agents to have different approaches to achieving performance goals. Some encourage an ethical approach, but most focus on encouraging leads to submit an application for a plan even if it doesn't truly improve their situation "because you never know if they'll agree to it or not". They praise and promote agents who submit large numbers of applications even if they are not compliant.  
Director would rather talk about Beyonce than providing useful and substantial feedback or advice. 
Awful lead generation system where people from other countries are misleading/misinforming the prospects getting transferred to you OR their advertisements are tremendously misleading.
Benefits are alright. Base pay is decent, bonus structure is alright but team leads won't coach you sufficiently for you to bonus consistently. If you are struggling you'll either get forgotten month-to-month or written up with the intent to be terminated. Even when they write you up, they won't provide any productive coaching and will continue to let you struggle.  
Management can be unprofessional and provide minimal support but want to micromanage your day. If you're late or miss time from work because of internet or power outages, they will hold you accountable for it even if it is beyond your control. Ironic coming from a company whose leaders rarely show accountability. 

Good entry level training. Very high tempo environment. Life Insurance sales call center. METLIFE, Mutual of Omaha to name a few of the companies represented there. Mostly outbound and some inbound depending on your position. Representative needs to be a sincere "people person" to work here. If you do not like office cubicle environment/high pressure sales quota demands then this is not for you. Need to be properly licensed to sell life insurance in any state. Company will pay for your state insurance licensing/training. Includes licensing in other states. Licensing classes are provided on site. Work site training also provided to get you familiar with computer operations/software and phone use. Different shifts offered to accommodate. Will be expected to work Saturdays when asked/required.  Overall a good place to start if you are getting started in insurance sales to get your feet wet before you go independent and see if it is a fit for you. You have to be thick skinned and be able to properly deal with irate callers/customers. No hangups allowed on your end. Quality Control monitors all calls. If they overhear a rude comment by you or you purposely disconnect a call even if the customer is being rude you may face disciplinary action which could mean immediate termination. You will have those days/customers trust me on this. :) If after reading this you still want to press forward and apply I sincerely wish you the best of luck in your new role.

I was living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to make ends meet when I came across Tranzact. When I started this job it was both scary and exciting for me as I had only minor sales experience and ZERO experience in the healthcare business. The training process wasn't always easy but the trainers and management were very reliable and made learning the knowledge necessary to do this job entertaining and easy to retain. Within a couple weeks you hit the ground running and you start dialing. One of the most crucial things I was given when I started with this job is support. If you are ever having trouble with any problems (in or out of the work place) the managers and team leads make it known that they are there for you.

 Within just a couple months of being on the phones you become eligible for raises and all sorts of amazing benefits but the best part about this job is the personal growth you see in yourself. In this job you are constantly surrounded by amazing people with huge amounts of confidence, kindness, leadership. It becomes impossible to not want to better yourself and push beyond any preconceived notions of what you thought you could do. 

I've been with Tranzact for 2 1/2 years now. I came from sharing a duplex with 4 roommates and driving a broken down ford focus to buying my first home and my first brand new car. Saying this job is life changing wouldn't do it enough justice. As long as you are willing to put in the work to become great, the company will be there to make sure it happens.



When I first heard of TZ, I was very excited to start. I had never been in the insurance field and wasn't really sure what to expect. Had to take two state licenses after a month long training (unpaid), a few days of system training, then thrown into sales during the busiest time of the year. That first annual enrollment period was hectic working from home because I was new, and getting ahold of a manager to ask questions wasn't always an option. You are forced to rely on the group chat. After the busy season it gets slow so they really push you to make a sale at all costs, Even if the customer would only benefit from 1 difference like a lower co-pay at the doctor's . Leads are warm leads. Most of the time we got the lead because the person or a family member went online to look up information almost Nobody actually wants the phone call or even remembers looking for information. Usually they hang up before you even say your name. For breaks you get two 15 and an unpaid 30 Min lunch which you have to use for your bathroom breaks as well. During the year I was there I had at least 6 different managers and my schedule changed too many times to count. Managers ranged, some liked to help and we're great managers and some were only promoted because they had great sales numbers. This job is great for someone with no children, likes making cold calls, and is a Killer when it comes to closing a sale. My co-workers were great and very supportive! Hands down best part of the job
