This company has a high turnover rate and it is understandable. Pay is not competitive and employees are not given the opportunity for an annual bonus or an annual raise that keeps up with inflation. In the two years I worked there, my pre-tax salary only changed by about $2000 which was below the inflation rate from 2023-2026. This is fine if you plan on switching jobs. The health insurance plan also has many exclusions but is fine if you only plan on getting basic primary and emergency care. There are worse places to start out that have a more grueling work environment. Work-life balance is fine at TRI. 

Job stability is also not good. I have seen people who worked there for 10 years be laid off with minimal to no notice. They are then replaced by contractors who can be paid less. The replacements may also lack the skills of their predecessors, leading to more work for their supervisors and other parties involved in training. 

As a quality  professional, several members of the executive team do not set a good example when it comes to integration of quality standards and compliance with guidelines. They regularly complete standard tasks late and strongly push back on suggestions given by the QA department to improve their processes. In certain departments, there is extreme inefficiency with procedural reviews and updates being open for years. The quality department is then made to take responsibility for the faults of the other departments while being unable to enforce any real consequences. Quality works best when it is integrated, rather than departments working in silos.

Lastly, there were issues with the setup of my team in particular. My manager knew very little about what other members of the team did. We were extremely siloed and didn't have to opportunity to work cross-functionally with other parts of the QA department. Other members of QA also did not understand our system. My coworker essentially acted in a supervisory role for most of the time I worked there but they were never granted managerial status which I consider to be unfair. They were also often assigned too many tasks which they did not appropriately distribute, leading to a backlog when we needed anything from them. I felt this could be improved by more-cross functionality within the department and making this person a legitimate supervisor and thus training them as such. 



I was not trained well by my superiors, as there is such a high turnover rate(most of the people in Regulatory stay maybe a few months, so good luck with that) and I was flung into a role I wasn't well prepared for. My work performance rate was accessed as "less than adequate" even though I had trained multiple employees, had stayed in the position for longer than I really wanted to because I felt bad for my department's high turnover rate in employees(and made to feel guilty for staying because of how burdened they seemed, was "supposed to know information" that I was never properly trained in, and was never fully compensated for the extra hours I did.  They trained someone close to when they wanted me gone, and let me go. I would only recommend this job to someone if you wanted a job to keep you busy until you find a better job. Most of the people in this job either die being in this job, leave because they found a better job, or get fired.  If you want a job with corporate america from the 90's, choose this job. It's not a pleasant ride.

The smaller teams are great, but you can work at the company for nearly 10 years with the promise of a promotion annually and never receive one. My position at any other company pays 1.5x what I'm getting paid here. They say they accommodate disabilities, but do they really? Questionable at best. The lower managers are amazing, upper managers not so much. Health insurance is great, but the other benefits are not. The short term disability is through an outside company and minimum $90/mo and only pays 60% of salary, which is not great when your salary is low. You pay $65/mo to pay at the office.

I was fired after 4 months here. The company lied to my contracting company that employed me and said it was because of "decreasing work quality." My manager had told me just two weeks prior to this that I was doing really well. Our work was decreasing, and after I expressed concern that I would be let go because of the lack of work, I was told that my manager would "fight for me." Someone was lying because they fired me at 6pm after I just left the building the week before Thanksgiving, two weeks later. I only had two months left on my contract. No one will respond to my emails asking why I was let go so suddenly. This company could not care less about its employees. They play dirty. Now I'm out of a job and have no one to get a recommendation from. 

Hard pass.

Poor communication with trainees. No expectations or goals are communicated to new hires. You would literally beg them to give you what to work on. Nobody tells or checks on your progress, they are just waiting for you to fail and at end of 90 days period, they lay you off for no reason. The supervisors and managers play favoritism right in your face. They know if they want you on their team or not right from the very first project. And once you make mistakes as a newbie, they judge you throughout for that. Then, they will wait for your 90th day on the job and just lay you off for no tangible reason without 30, or 60 day review of your training progress. The team is a waste of time.

Management is the worst! Very toxic. For this reason, the turn over rate is extremely high particularly in the safety team. Underpaid for the volume of work you do. Micromanagement, favoritism, no opportunities for growth, dismal annual raises, no appreciation (except for manager’s couple of favorites - the rest of us are minions who must just work and shut up). It’s a pity that employees are mistreated this way by some of the managers because, I could tell from my interactions with the CEO and Vice President that they really care about their people. My assumption is that they are not aware of the toxic office politics in the organization. 

You may be lucky to work with a few good coworkers, but higher management and HR are 2 faced. They portray fake strictness of policies but policies disappear in a sec when its for their own benefit and those they like and close to. However when you get on their bad side the double standards will come to display.

I wouldn't recommend working here unless you want to suck up and survive like a politician in the Whitehouse.

Sometimes managers will try to keep you where you are so you can't move forward by inhibiting ways for you to get to a better position 

My position is completely remote, which provides tons of work/life flexibility.  The pay and benefits are good, though the training is minimal and communication opaque.  Written SOP's are provided in abundance, but due to the remote nature of the job, I'm left to review them and figure things out on my own.  A lot of this could be a function of the pandemic and not the company at all.  The staff and managers I interact with are all very friendly and many people have been here for years so it's a place you can settle into if you're able to find a remote niche.

High level management really does not know the day to day activities and processes of the departments that they are over so in addition to educating the client or providing information. you also have 5 other high level managers (IT, PMs, Data Managers, oh and the VP) that you also have to explain things to and educate. In my experience we were overworked ... there was terrible leadership...low compensation. However, my team was awesome.

There is a lot of opportunity to learn, grow, and get experience in clinical studies. My experience was great. I worked with great people in my department, who were all very supportive of one another. The most tedious part of the job is having to complete projects and action items for the client, which often leads to nothing but feeling like a total waste of time in the end.
