One of the most valuable things I’ve learned here is how to be a more effective advocate. The mentorship from experienced trial attorneys has been invaluable, helping me refine my litigation skills, negotiate better outcomes, and develop a strategic approach to criminal defense.

Management is supportive and genuinely invested in the success of its attorneys. There is a strong emphasis on training, professional growth, and teamwork. The leadership team is accessible and willing to provide guidance while also encouraging autonomy in handling cases.

The workplace culture is collaborative and high-energy, with a shared commitment to defending clients aggressively and ethically. There’s a strong team mentality, and everyone—from attorneys to support staff—works together to provide the best possible defense for our clients. The firm also prioritizes work-life balance and professional development, making it an ideal place to build a long-term career.

The hardest part of the job is managing a heavy caseload while ensuring each client receives the best possible representation. However, the firm's structured approach, available resources, and teamwork make it manageable and rewarding.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the satisfaction of securing great outcomes for clients. Whether it’s a dismissal, a favorable plea, or a not-guilty verdict, knowing that my work makes a real difference in someone’s life is incredibly fulfilling.

I worked for TCDG for quite sometime and I feel compelled to share my experience thus far, so other candidates looking for a job get a clear HONEST review. The company is severely understaffed, which creates an overwhelming workload for the few of us whom were left after the constant firing of employees. Instead of fostering a collaborative environment, management tends to micromanage every detail, leading to frustration and a lack of autonomy.
Additionally, the workplace is filled with unnecessary drama and stress, which distracts from productivity and creates a toxic atmosphere. Overall, it's been a challenging experience, and I hope changes are made to improve the situation for everyone involved . With such a high turnover rate with both staff and attorney’s throughout the time I was employed here, you'd think they would get a clue of where the problem(s) are but they would rather point fingers and “terminate” staff than take accountability for where the issues really are. The pay offered absolutely does not compensate for the job expectations and overwhelming workload. They promise a lot of things along the lines of “career growth and higher pay rates” and when you question on this it’s always an excuse after excuse after excuse, but they will absolutely overwork and overload you with all the work needing to be done, especially if you are bilingual or even mention you are open to learn anything. DO NOT believe all the 5-star “I love my job” reviews, as most of their reviews on here and google are compensated  to the staff if they leave a “positive review” as the overwhelming bad reviews where causing the company to “look bad”.

One of the biggest things I have learned here is how to effectively communicate and problem-solve in high-pressure situations. The experience has helped me develop both professionally and personally, strengthening my ability to adapt and succeed.

Management is hands-on, approachable, and genuinely invested in the success of employees. They provide clear expectations while also encouraging growth and initiative. Their open-door policy makes it easy to ask questions and receive feedback.

The workplace culture is one of the best aspects of the job. It is a team-oriented environment where everyone is encouraged to collaborate, support each other, and strive for excellence. There is a strong sense of camaraderie, which makes the job even more enjoyable.

The hardest part of the job is managing multiple responsibilities at once, especially in high-demand situations. However, this challenge is also an opportunity for growth, and the support from the team makes it manageable.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the sense of accomplishment that comes from helping clients and seeing the positive impact of our work. Being part of a company that values both employees and clients makes every day fulfilling.

This review is based off of my own personal experiences working for TCDG. I wouldn’t recommend this job to anyone not even my worst enemy. The highest turnover rate I’ve ever seen.. I’ve lost count of how many people have left. The group chat is filled with gossip, bullying, and unprofessional behavior. We are supposed to meet high and unreasonable expectations but are not valued at this firm even when you have reached their percentage goals you will be reminded how replaceable you are. Management speaks negatively about everyone including the attorneys which is not only unprofessional but it makes the work environment very stressful. You never want to share any personal information with management or they will use it to their advantage.. Most of the team are too scared to speak up due to retaliation (being fired).. it’s evident this is a toxic environment but if you ask management they’ll tell you they love their toxic ways and will never change!  The hardest part about this job is  trying to not make mistakes so you don’t get ridiculed in the group chat but  their training structure is unfinished and messy! 

I can only speak on the remote side of this job. Going into this job it seemed like a great fit. The pay is decent, the people seemed nice, and the job overall seemed great. Training from day one was all over the place there was no set training plan until a lot of us new hires spoke up and a training plan was made which says a lot. Let’s talk about the “calling out in the group chat.” We are human we make mistakes, we get told hey you made a mistake let’s fix that and see where you went wrong so it won’t happen again. Sounds reasonable, right? No the manager finds it okay to let everyone know you made a mistake and then pulls you into a zoom meeting to talk about it but yet not how to fix it even though it’s alway please let us know what we can do to help in emails after the meeting. They do not help you unless you worship the ground the manager walks on. No one is hiding behind a screen to bash a company, it has been brought up multiple times by multiple employees how we feel yet it does not matter. The job itself it good I won’t lie, it’s honestly just the manager who makes it unbearable to work with. 

A typical day at work involves coming into the office, going through my emails, completing new hire paperwork, completing tasks, assisting or getting assisted by my coworkers, and making sure our clients are being taken care of. Working at a criminal defense law firm as a customer service representative has taught me the importance of clear communication and maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations while assisting clients through difficult legal challenges. The hardest part of the work culture is managing the emotional intensity of clients facing legal challenges, while the most enjoyable aspect is the sense of fulfillment from helping people navigate tough situations and providing them with support during critical times.

This job could have been a great opportunity — the company is owned by two genuinely good individuals who seem to care about their business. Unfortunately, the toxic work environment created by management, particularly HR, overshadows any potential the job has to offer.

The HR representative is not only unqualified for her position but actively contributes to a hostile and demoralizing atmosphere. Rather than guiding or supporting employees, she micromanages, gaslights, and keeps a record of minor mistakes to use against staff when convenient. Constructive feedback is virtually non-existent.

There is no clear path for growth here. I took on multiple roles and responsibilities without any increase in compensation, recognition, or support. Raises? They don’t exist — no matter how much extra work you take on.

If you value your mental health, work-life balance, or basic respect in the workplace, this is not the environment for you. What looks like a dream job from the outside quickly turns into a nightmare

I worked here for several years, and I can honestly say it was the worst job I’ve ever had. The environment is toxic to the core — constant micromanagement, drama, and gossip are the norms here. The pay is terrible, and the management seems more interested in creating chaos than actually running a professional firm.The person in charge has absolutely no clue about the legal industry. It’s clear they have no respect for employees or clients, and it shows in how they run things. They mislead their clients, lie to their employees, and constantly set unrealistic expectations. No matter how hard you work, they’ll always find an excuse to replace you.
If you value your sanity, your morals, or just want a decent work environment, do yourself a favor and stay away. The culture here is all about tearing each other down, and there’s no room for growth or genuine appreciation. If you have no principles and are okay with being treated like a disposable tool, then maybe this is the place for you. But for anyone else, it's a nightmare.








Honestly worked here for 3 weeks but I saw from day 1 this company DOES NOT care for you. My experiences here have been nothing but tears, stress, no training and expecting to do your job with no guidance and rude comments. This job will expect you to jump right in with no training and when they ask you why you’re not converting and you try to explain they simply do not care, they will ridicule you and embarrass you in front of the entire team to show power. The managers here can’t even read a book to save their life and don’t care about how you feel about the work or training. The favoritism here is unreal, and some of the stories these people have told me is unimaginable for being a lawyer office, they really don’t care about your well being. People would stand up for themselves from the backlash and get fired immediately with no explanation and when they apply for unemployment pay they will take you to court to fight it. This place is so unacceptable 

Working at the Texas Criminal Defense Group has been an incredible experience. The management team is outstanding—supportive, approachable, and genuinely invested in the growth of each employee. The work is both meaningful and rewarding, with opportunities to make a real impact on clients' lives. I’ve found the environment to be both fun and professional, and the team fosters a sense of camaraderie that makes coming to work each day something I truly look forward to. If you're looking for a place where you can grow and thrive while doing important work, this is the place!
