First of all, the post cards that potential clients return are very misleading. It sounds like they might qualify for a free benefit that will pay 100% of their funeral expenses. It also states they’ll receive a free Walmart gift card if they return the post card. Guess who pays for the gift card? Not The Assurance Group (TAG), YOU DO!!
The call center charges 11.50 per appointment that they set. That’s all fine and good if you’re making money! I’ve listened to the calls and the scripts are as deceptive as the post card! They don’t tell the people why someone is coming to their house other than to “deliver the gift card and their info”. You’d be amazed how many people will either say they only wanted the gift card or they thought they won it. They do not know you’re there to sell life insurance; however, you still owe for the bogus appointments. So you’ll literally go in the hole paying for appointments. 
They don’t tell you all the fees that carriers charge etc. I only wrote 4 applications after working for 3-4 weeks and was only paid $137 TOTAL!!! 
It’s a JOKE!! Good luck if you still decide to work for TAG. 

Training was almost nonexistent.  The training was to be 3 parts but only part 1 was completed by the trainer.  It felt that I was thrown to the wolves.  So, if you’re new to the insurance field, do not go to work for TAG.

As far as receiving leads, most of the leads received from the company were between 3 and 6 years old.  Selling final expense insurance with leads that old, there were a lot of people that moved or had died.  

When I terminated my contract with TAG, they did not pay my earned commissions.  In addition, they would not release my appointments so I could got to work for another insurance agency/company.   I'm now getting the state insurrance commission involved in this, something that i shouldn't have to do.

Now on the other hand, there are other agent/brokers that are friendly and will answer questions

I came into TAG in Greenville years ago, overall the company is solid. They provide excellent potential for growth, and a strong team of experienced agents to help you succeed, and if you have the drive and the ambition to get in there with you make sure you are staying the course.

I think for agents with experience this company is a great fit because they have excellent options to offer to overall consumers and a wealth of knowledge to those who are willing to continue mastering their journey to success. 

You need to know you are commissioned in this job, this is what it is. You can make a great living, but if you aren't dedicated you can easily and quickly fall behind. 

Probably one of the worse Insurance agencies you can work for.  They start you out at 50% to 60% comp plan. They control your pay, most carriers send direct deposit directly to the agent but not these guys.  No day 1 vesting.  Company is in a trust you will never own any shares of it. Lead system is horrible that's why they are free and they run out of leads in certain areas so you have to drive sometimes 2 hrs to work. The leads are free because at that low comp plan you are paying for them and the "FREE" trips for hitting certain levels you are paying for that also. Ask them to start you at 100% like most agencies do they will laugh at you. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Sometime provided leads. Parameters for leads changes weekly to a point where if one milestone it’s reached, another falls away, leaving agents scrambling

The amount of effort it takes to work rural areas to keep up with established agents

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A lot of how others succeed. You’re 1099 and treated that way. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Knocking on doors of leads. Working to accommodate clients and their needs. Success in doing that is fulfilling.

Positives: 
-Great support system, Free leads, Great training.
-Retirement seminars & Call centers
-Ability to use office space for materials, printing, and getting handouts.
Negatives:
-40% contract for using the free lead system only bumps to 55% if buying leads.
-Multi-level & Not paid directly from the carrier so expect an additional week of delay on commissions.
-I can't get a firm answer but pretty sure the commission caps at 70% when you reach the highest contract level (achieved by recruiting + Production)

I dont really have much to compare this to as I've only worked at one other agency.


I was with this company for a summer. They gave me 3-5 year old leads that had little to know chance of success. They push Final expense insurance to everyone that breathes. Some of the people we contacted had no money to spare and were barely making ends meat but expected us to try to sell them some terrible policy. 
They also only pay like 60% of what is written. I know other insurance comps that pay over 100% of what is written. Worst decision of my life. Do not touch. 

management was unpredictable. Management controlled commission pay and promotions.  many agents left the company including me. I enjoyed working with people. My skills are the top of excellence. working as an independent agent was restricted and writing for other companies was forbidden. This company was said to be non captive but the company was captive which interfered with my other companies.

A staffing agency, where I held several positions in all different areas of employment. I am a reliable & prompt organized individual and can just about get along and fit in anywhere. My experiences range in a broad spectrum in the many position that I have filled. All were given my best effort, but unfortunately none were temp to perm.

Worked closely with Senior Sales professionals in obtaining NEW CLIENTS for placement in the working world.Cold calling 100 potential new clients a day by phone to get them interested in making an employment change.
Restructure of the company was reason for leaving.
