The Bernard Group

The Bernard Group is such an AMAZING place to work! Being an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), everyone cares a little more than at other companies since they have a stake in the company. They have been rolling out a new Total Rewards Program this year focusing on different needs/wants of all the employees which was determined through a company-wide survey. Some of the following new great incentives that are effective January 2020 are listed below:

 - PAID PATERNITY PROGRAM where eligible employees may receive up to 12 weeks of paid leave (based on their income, up to $1,000 per week maximum) for the birth or adoption of a child. This is completely unheard of for any company to offer such a sweet program! If companies offer anything, it's usually just a maternity program if you're the mother who's had the child but this is WAY above and BEYOND!
 - PTO will now be based on tenure with the chance to earn up to 27 days off per year with one week being able to be carried over each year. This is on top of the 10.5 holidays given each year too (1/2 day for Good Friday which I've never seen before either)!
 - Changing to HealthPartners from Preferred One as our healthcare provider will end up saving me $1,022.88 next year which is HUGE! My husband also works at the company so that is an annual savings of $2,045.76 total for us next year! We always buy the best coverage with the most expensive plan but other plans whether they be different coverage or family plans reduced as well in some areas but maybe not as much as we saw being on individual plans each.

Other things that help make The Bernard Group so awesome are all the people! It really has the nicest people who care and are engaged through Gallup's Employee Engagement. We also rolled out Clifton Strengths assessments and workshops to help all of us focus on each other's strengths this year. 

For their 401K program, after one year of employment, they will match the first 3% dollar for dollar. They will then match 0.5% for every percent after that up to a maximum match of 4% so if you contribute 5%, the company will match 4% which is pretty awesome too as every little bit counts!

There is a great work/life balance and flexibility when needed which obviously will vary from job-to-job like in any company.

All in all, I couldn't imagine myself working anywhere else and will be here until they tell me otherwise!

Young management team in the fabrication department, and it shows.  They finger point at all the wrongs but not the rights.  They literally will place blame on others to save there own butts.  It's who you are in this group, there a click management group that have no clue on how to manage, which makes things unprofessional, in organized, and lost.  The entire management team has no past experience in managing but received there titles because of there clicky group. They claim to be a top 150 best places to work company they pertain this by telling there employees that they expect a good  reviews on the survey thats giving.  I've seen them let a person go, because his opinions were negative.

They strive on what you do wrong but never thank you for all of the rights.  They expect you to bend over backwards for them and in return  there ungrateful.  

Stay away from this poor culture environment unless you have friends and family working here.

've read all of these reviews and the negative ones have me baffled. 
I truly have not experienced any of these negative things people are saying. 
I've worked at The Bernard Group full-time since 2014 and I was the 200th or so employee when I was hired. Now, there is 650 employees and a lot has changed within a few short years. They have experienced huge growth so naturally processes and policies have changed. I can see why these changes could be interpreted as unorganized, however people forget that changes are necessary when growth is occurring and that the leadership at TBG make these changes to try to improve processes all for the better of the employees and for the company as a whole. 

Sure, TBG is not perfect, but to be apart of this company has been amazing. The people who work here care about the work they do and are passionate about serving their teammates and their clients. The leadership team and upper management truly care about the employees and I can tell they do their best to make sure TBG values are being implemented into lower management. 
TBG is not perfect, no company is. However, don't let these negative reviews fool you, majority of TBG employees love working here!

I really enjoy working at The Bernard Group because I feel important and appreciated for the work I do. Managers acknowledge my ideas and effort and I've been able to advance in my position. The people who work here are passionate about wowing the customer, and they go to great lengths to help each other whenever needed. I've stayed late to help out with projects because I chose to, not because I felt like I was required to. I've experience a good work/life balance. I have always felt welcomed in different departments and have never encountered cliques. I appreciate the fact that this company is very active in being environmentally responsible. All factory wastes are recycled in a multiple ways that contribute to sustainability. The benefits are great and I especially like that this company is an ESOP because it gives me an opportunity to accumulate future wealth. This company is rad and I highly recommend!

We produce high quality work at a very fast pace. I sometimes feel conflicted because at the pace that projects are driven through, there isn't enough time to actually think through the best possible design/solution. I often only have time to go with my first idea because the design time and other processes consume the rest of the time until the deadline. 

Although the deadlines can be stressful at times, It is very fun work and rewarding when the final product is complete and looks amazing. 

Management also seems to care as they set up weekly touch-bases to give you time to bring up any conflicts or concerns regarding your employment, or even to personally get to know you.

I recently started a new position with The Bernard Group. I felt very welcomed and immediately at home with all the friendly co-owners and support I received in establishing my position. There is an awesome,  creative energy at The Bernard Group that definitely sets it apart from the other places I've worked in the past! I feel a freedom to utilize my talents and push the possibilities of the projects I am involved with! The management is very encouraging and supportive in identifying co-owner's strengths and allowing room for growth! 

If you are a team player you will certainly enjoy working at The Bernard Group! There is a strong "team culture" here as it seems everyone is ready to lend a hand in helping accomplish the current task. This is highly motivating and, given the abundance of shared talent, very productive! Every day offers new challenges and opportunities which keeps it interesting!

This company does not care about their employees - they only care about pushing jobs through on-time.  The communication between departments is atrocious.  As a result, there is a lot of "pointing fingers" and inefficiencies. They have difficulty finding parts and how to efficiently complete  job orders.  There is a lot of turn-over and use of temporary workers who are not trained and very few speak or understand English. Upper management seems to have a good vision for the company and high expectations but the line leads and lower management don't seem very competent in implementing logical changes in processes. There is also a ton of wasted material.  They are definitely not a "green company". In the end, everything they make ends up in the garbage.

A lot of changes have happened over the time I have been here. With new initiatives taking place across the whole organization the company culture is more positive, more positive impacts on employee engagement with recognition and training initiatives with more development from recruiting to hiring to developing each individual employee. Excited for more implementation for systems come to fruition with total rewards and internal workflows and processes. Great to have staff members working together for a common goal and mass scale greatness across the organization from leadership down.

Having been in printing for over 25 years and owning my own business I would expect to be compensated accordingly. Not only did they low ball on salary they paid someone with really no printing experience more $. I was trained on a new press so I took less with the understanding I would be paid more once I hit 90 days. This never occurred. I was helping other operators learn the press. I had almost no reworks actually had less than the lead. Co workers were great to work with but management does not communicate. Which is ironic because having had a serious infection that is what I was let go for. Lack of communication. Typical printing company that doesn't recognize effort just lets you go when you are ill.

After working for a large corporation for most of my career, it has been so awesome to work for a smaller company that has a family feel. Employees are co-owners, which is amazing- everyone takes ownership in what they do and works hard to help the company succeed. Each team within the company is so strong- willing to help each other out even when busy, answer questions, etc- and the employees are truly the strength of the company. I feel so proud and thankful to work at The Bernard Group! I highly recommend it!
