I joined CCS and honestly only expected to be here for 6 months, I was new to the area and needed to grow my network. 

I currently hit my 4 year mark with CCS; I started off on the phones as a Customer Service Associate working banking debt. The first 1-2 months was a struggle; I was that one collector accepting $25 payments on every account. However, with training, strategized seating, and my management team investing the time in me, I learned how to collect the full balance on accounts. After 6 months of collecting, I was one of the top collectors. 

I received my first promotion as a Quality Monitor Representative, teaching others how to perfect their skills. I was in this position for 6 months and received another promotion as a Senior Supervisor of Collections. 

I vastly transitioned into a new role as a Supervisor of MCL (Manual Call Launch). I was able to learn, grow, and really develop my understanding of what it meant to be a leader (Thanks to all the training and Free Online Courses offered). During this time I graduated from S.A.I.L, a mentoring program, I gained a better understanding of the company and developed my leadership skills even more. 

After a year in my position, I found a new home in Portsmouth, NH where I was able to use all my training and skills to help develop my team as a Senior Supervisor. I finally knew what it meant to be a leader, a mentor, a teacher. I met the needs of each team member and they went from being my team to being a family. They excelled tremendously, with several of them being promoted within the company. 

A little after a year, I made the decision to grow even more. I was promoted to a Project Manager, working out of the Corporate office, implementing clients, and learning from the most brilliant minds. I've been in my current position for 7 months now and I couldn't be happier. 

CCS invested I me and I invested in CCS. This company goes above and beyond for it's employees. I don't just have a job, I have a career. It wasn't easy, I worked all the O.T possible, I came in early to prepare for the day (Constantly writing down daily goals), I applied what I learned in trainings, I took advantage of the free online courses, I ask questions, and most importantly I ALWAYS HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE. You get what you put into it. 

I can't thank CCS enough for taking the time to invest in me; I am the leader and individual I am today because of this company. I am thankful for all the opportunities I had and continue to have at CCS. 

I made the most money in my life at CCS however, I have to say I hated my job
Speaking to people who are in financial crisis and convincing them to pay you their money so that your commission check is as big as possible weighs on the conscience 
Subrogation is so much worse than just general collecting. some people aren’t even at fault in car accidents and have to pay tens of thousands because they weren’t insured. 
The support you receive from upper management is great. You are consistently given feedback on how to make your collections better and if you listen to it, it typically does work however, these are still not easy conversations to have.
I was privileged to learn a lot about finances on a personal level, debt management and negotiation.
You will receive precisely 2 15minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. I personally have never had a job require me to clock out for bathroom breaks like this one.  if you go over Break by more than a minute, you have a chance of being written up if you do not meet your collection goals more than two weeks in a row you have a chance of being written up if your QM score is not higher than somewhere in the 94% range more than one month in a row you will be written up 
While there’s great support to make yourself the best collection agent possible, the goals are outstandingly high on not only amount collected, but quality management and time management
Upper management knows exactly how hard it is to be a collection agent as most of them came from the collection floor and were promoted from within however, we are not provided enough breaks considering how mentally draining this job is
This all being said this company loves to promote from within, and there is ample opportunity for growth so long as you hit your goals. hitting your goals isn’t difficult in a competency way as it is difficult in a I don’t want to pressure people to pay more money than they can afford to keep something off their credit score or keep their license way
We received three weeks of PTO, including a floating holiday your birthday off and about 5 to 6 paid holidays. Hours were flexible. 
In short you can make a lot of money with no relevant experience (about 2k every 2 weeks) but burnout is almost inevitable

A typical day at work varies depending on the position. Most applicants will start as customer service agents which is mostly answering phone calls and assisting callers with resolutions on past due accounts. I am always learning something new everyday here which keeps the job interesting. A brief summary of what I've learned here is how to improve skills in delivering quality customer service, conflict management, negotiation skills, computer skills, time management, and other skills related to completing job related tasks. I can only speak for the Portsmouth location but as far as management goes, I've never been more impressed with how welcoming, knowledgeable, supportive, and overall friendly and down to earth management here is. I couldn't ask for better management, and can't say enough good things about them. Regarding workplace culture, it's a friendly and competitive environment but in a good way. There are standards and metrics that are calculated to determine what individual goals should be and management does a great job helping their employees meet these goals. The hardest part of the job is dealing with difficult callers, but that is the nature of the job. Not every caller is going to be reasonable and pleasant, but you could say the same for customers in any line of work. At least with a call center, you don't have to be face to face with a difficult customer. The most enjoyable part of the job for me is honestly the people I work with. I look forward to coming into work and working with and supporting my other associates and have never had the same experience at other companies I have worked for. Obviously no company is perfect, CCS could improve some areas but overall the company provides ample opportunities for people to succeed here. I can honestly say that out of every place I've worked, CCS is by far my favorite employer. I hope that potential applicants find this review informative and helpful when deciding to apply to work for CCS. 

A typical day for our department included coming in to an office without anyone in our direct chain to communicate with. We had no supervisor because they quit and our director on up worked remotely 99% of the time. When we were communicating with management via email it was a back and forth which sometimes took hours. Management is very reactive and not proactive at all. Multiple times we were required to fix reports from weeks ago due to changes that were thought to have been communicated to our team.  A deadline of the end of next week turned into a deadline of Monday the next week which ended up turning into a deadline of the same week which caused backup and required us to do 2 weeks worth of work in 1 week to play catch up. The only time we saw our management team was when we were told we were being laid off due to a contract ending at 13 months when during the interview process we were told it was a 5 year contract. Do not assume that the job description listed will be your only job. You will be asked to fill multiple other positions such as giving power point presentations to new hire classes, supervising floor support employees, and taking inbound calls even if you are not part of the operations team. You will be expected to do this for the same pay you agreed to when you were hired. 

Employee retention (or in this case lack there of) can often be an indication as to how well an employer treats the employee. CCS has frequent high turn over. Pay: Substandard considering the nature and the scope of the work performed. Debt collection is the type of work where you often deal with unpleasant individuals throughout your work day. Don't think to yourself "If you don't like it there is the door". I know where the door is, thanks. As a matter of fact I was looking for work even after securing employment. I knew it was not going to last. Like all good things, all bad things also come to an end.

This is unstable work with a very bleak future compounded by a staff of unprofessional, disrespectful and unsupportive supervisors. Favoritism runs rampant. Work rules are a farce. (It's OK for some people but not for others). You cannot even wear a hooded jacket or sweatshirt (again SOME people can). This is a line of business which is heavily regulated by both state and federal laws due to the fact of the disreputable nature of many collection agencies. I will say CCS knows this quite well and you are expected to know the letter of the law. Again, the pay is substandard for what is expected of the employee. You can make a bonus every month but the goal is somewhat unrealistic and if you sneeze the wrong way you get placed on disciplinary action (level) which means goodbye bonus. The best day I had at CCS was the day I resigned. I submiited a resignation offering the customary two weeks notice. They had me clean out my desk and showed me the door. CCS is a stop gap until you find greener pastures. Watch your back, Jack.

The best part about working here was the professional experience I gained. The PTO time given was generous and they were pretty flexible about scheduling. Also, if you show up every day and try your best,  you're unlikely to be let go and job security is pretty good. They are good about providing training for your job role and for pursuing professional advancement. Now for the bad.  While I was there management consistently took on far more work than the department could do and we were always months behind, which put the Arbitration Representatives under constant pressure to maintain unrealistically high production standards at all times. No matter how much you did it was never enough and we never caught up. This of course upset our clients and employees and we lost both business and good employees because of it. Management consistently ignored constructive feedback about this and made it clear they expected the employees to tolerate this situation indefinitely. It became clear that management was incompetent and prone to making poor decisions, and did not care about or respect their employees at all.  I left because I felt my hard work and commitment were not valued and because I felt things were unlikely to ever improve. I cannot recommend this job.  The actual work is both boring and stressful due to the amount of work you are expected to produce and the repetitive nature of the work.  The pay is not competitive either and there are better opportunities to be had  elsewhere. 

You get to work, answer calls, enter in information, log off and leave for the day. 
Simple work that could also be done from home if given the time to do so.  Management (at the time) was so high strung and made the work stress full and provided some help. HR, however, would not be as helpful in regards to needing time off. Any accommodations that you need (less time at the work place) would be denied and told "we cannot accept this type of accommodation as it goes against your work schedule". They would refuse doctors notes about needing time off due to it "going against your work schedule". Again, this is why it is an accommodation and they will refuse it. 

Taking time off for certain things was also a nightmare for doctors appointments as "it goes against your work schedule". But the management there approves it and HR would need to accept it. This goes in your file and works against you. 

I left the company due to HR NOT allowing any sort of accommodations for my health needs, and I did sign a paper saying "accommodations will be accepted at all times". I loved what I did, I loved my management team. HR was a nightmare to deal with as they would not meet their employees needs. 

Never had any issues with any of the staff or co-works, everything was great. HR needs more work and the standards need to be more flexible.

As a former employee, I will say, what you put in is what you get back. I struggled for much of my time there after a promotion, and got a lot of support regarding personal factors that were impacting my job performance. There is something to be said about the amount of effort put forth by the company to “save face.” This is clearly illustrated by the fact that after a lengthy negative review, there are over a dozen “positive” reviews within a rather short timespan (all submitted by administrators and managers? Weird.) see: June 3, 2019 through June, 11, 2019. Collections and call center environments do require a “thick skin”, but being a leader to employees in these settings requires empathy. Something I do believe is exemplified within the company, but that unfortunately is more talked about something as that is there than what actually exists. 

I think that if leadership was more focused on BEING what they claim, than talking about being that, results would swiftly become evident. 

I have an average schedule of 8:30am to 5pm which include two paid 15 minute breaks and an unpaid 30 minute lunch that I can choose when to take.  In my team,  I never hesitate to ask a question, ask for time off, or ask for help in any situation because I know that management is incredibly flexible and very reasonable when it comes to my personal needs. Especially when it comes to making me a better collector, my leader always is there to motivate me and work one on one with me when needed. 
There's constantly incentives to be a better collector and get the work done. There's raffles, bonuses, contests, and other opportunities to keep  things from getting stale.
I will say, the CCS Companies may not have the easiest line of work but they by far have the most pleasant set of employees that make the job just a little easier. 

If you are looking for a job that requires you to sit and answer calls CONSTANLY for 8 hours a day , you don't take threats personally, and don't mind management micromanaging THIS is the job for you. If you still have doubts please read the following .. a typical day at work will be answering phone to people who are yelling and cursing at you constantly and management gives no support and advice you to not take it personal (when they are never on the phones). I wouldn't even recommend this to my worse enemy. The pay is good IF you collect enough and once management doesn't like you (as a person) you can forget about any opportunity to advance within the company. You practically have to beg or call out to take a day off. I was miserable and depressed everyday working there until I decided to quit. They micromanage you and they have meeting with you for everything and you can't even go over 1 minute in your breaks/lunch or they will write you up. I hope they are able to fix these problems for future employees but my experience unfortunately was the worse.
