Hitting the ground running, until I clock out for the day, I love taking care of my patients. I help the doctors determine the severity of their patients' lung disease, assisting each patient on managing and improving their lives through education, breathing techniques, and proper administration of breathing treatments.
     I continue to learn everyday from my patients and co workers. I take the time to listen to my patient's concerns and my job is to help the doctors help their patients so I stay updated on the latest techniques, medicine through discussion with my coworkers and attending seminars, reading periodicals, and journals. 
     Management, even though it has been evolving due to recent unfortunate events, has been a terrific support in my career. They take the time to listen to concerns of the department and do their best to acheive the goals the therapists have set. We work together as a team striving for excellence and compassion for the patients as well as each other. 
     Our diverse group of therapists that have individual thoughts, ideals and talents come together as a team to help our patients get better. We have a variety of commitees that keep the department growing so that we maintain the respect from our colleagues. 
     There is so much paperwork involved with my job that makes me feel that it takes away from taking care of my patients. I am currently working with our IT department to help alleviate that burden.
     Watching the relief on my patients' face and their loved ones as they gain my trust when I assure them we are here to help them and do the best we can so that they can get better or maintain their lung disease makes my day. Knowing that my patient understands their lung disease and how to improve their lives makes me feel that all the education that I learned is for the betterment of me as it is for each and every patient I meet. 
     I love my job and where I work makes it rewarding. I appreciate everyone that I meet, whether it be a co worker or patient because I learn from everyone of them.

Unhealthy setting where decisions are made and goals are set based on how best to get short term financial benefit and how to maximize profits over the next 10 years. As is unbelievably common now, they create a workforce that is trapped into staying there due to non-compete agreements and also due to the inbred and hostile feuding between the different hospital systems and health networks in town. physician pay structures based on productivity traps docs into a constant race against their partners and coworkers to make themselves look better individually (based on individual productivity)--not to make the whole team better as a group. The emphasis is on quantity of charges over time, with no recognition for quality. this is all to the detriment of morale, patient well-being, and safety. The overwhelming and hypocritical greed driving the administration has taken over the careers of many of the docs and nursing supervisors as well, leaving no one to stand up and keep focus on patients and purpose. The name "The Christ Hospital" has become sickeningly ironic in recent years, as the organization has strayed far from anything resembling a beacon of honest, genuine, humble service to the community.

Great place to come as a patient - excellent hospital reputation, clinically speaking.

Hoping new CEO improves leadership structure.  There seems to be no focus on organizational goals - each service line does their own thing. Leadership focus is on select service lines ($$$) - if you aren't in one of those, good luck getting resources.  Ineffective matrix.  Currently crawling with consultants - maybe some good change will come.  Could have saved that money and listened - really listened - to employees.

All about the money here.  Not about mission, employee growth or quality.  Success is never celebrated.

Physician are great clinicians - doesn't mean they should be operational leaders. No value placed on team based care.

So many silos and inefficiencies, it's exhausting to work here.

Old guard rarely lets new blood run with anything.  Stodgy.  Stale. Like Cincinnati in the 80's...

Look, if you like working in heath care and the fact that it’s all just turning into a big corporate money grab doesn’t bother you then go for it. Personally I think as a company if you’re going to throw around mission statements like “we anticipate the needs of those we serve, we are forward thinking, we build inclusive connections, we act with shared determination” that you should actually have some follow through. Patients no longer get appointment reminders unless  they have a cell phone and can receive texts, doesn’t really seem inclusive to me. Patients are being rescheduled if they cannot afford their copays because “you wouldn’t go to the store and try to buy a bag of apples without money.” Right because a bag of apples and your health are on the same playing field, doesn’t really feel like anticipating the needs of those you serve to me. The Drs are great, most of my coworkers are nice, but every morning I wake up with a sense of dread knowing that I have to come here and work for this corporation that doesn’t care about patients and only cares about money. 

This was the second worst place I worked for. It was evident that the manager had her favorite medical assistants. She expected me to know things that I wasn't trained to do. There is no formal training there and if she didn't like you, she would write you up for something you may have missed that you weren't trained to do in the first place. When the hours were extended, they didn't notify the staff until the week before so you can forget about work/life balance. There were too many physicians and not enough exam rooms. The manager would also tell other staff members things about other staff that should have remained confidential. Even the patient care was about the "favorite" patients. Absolutely no professionalism. The 403(b) match wasn't great either. This isn't to speak about the hospital departments as a whole, but I certainly know that medical assisting in the primary care office was a nightmare.

Overall this is great organization to work for with a ton of really nice people sharing a united mission. However, being a single hospital regional health system, it lacks the ability to spread overhead indirect costs across higher revenue producing services. This in turn leads to lack of innovation, slow decision making and limited job security with slim-to-no margin. Which in turn leads to sparing the expense of bringing in really talented people in management and promoting others to positions for which they have little to no experience. This has created a culture that tends to experience a strange balance of cycles of frustration and happiness. Really nice people though.

Highly would not recommend working here. This place has a bad work culture. High tech turnover. Staff pharmacist work every other weekend, rotating holiday and on-call. Clinical pharmacist don't work any weekend or holidays. Compensation is great compared to other hospitals, and lots of overtime available due to high turnover. Every few years sign on bonus offered to incentivize people to stay which results in turnover nearly year after contracts end. Plan to be micromanaged and emailed about very minor issues almost every other day or put in a weekly email. Also plan to be called in during the middle of the night for a overnight pharmacist  call off. Lack of opportunities for advancement as a staff pharmacist except to work in the satellite pharmacies. You'll get ample opportunities to do clinical work esp. on 2nd shift. Great starter job with good compensation. 

I was truly excited to start working at TCH once I heard upper management speak at orientation. I thought to myself "this has the company culture I've been looking for". I was sold a place of openness, caring, and advancement. These were all just false ideals made by people who don't work for the specialty offices nor do they care what goes on in them.
Management is never seen, micro-managers run without being checked, and everyone is a mall cop. Tattle-tales are everywhere in the network offices. I thought perhaps it was only our office but its the entire network. I've never been a part of such a strange place.
Management is also among those allowed to run wild. Providers are allowed to treat staff as they please. In dermatology alone a provider has been allowed to run off 24 assistants, another has gone through 4 in less than a year. This place is ridiculous. 10/10 would not recommend.

I've worked my way up the chain 3 times now at The Christ Hospital. The work is fast-paced but you're given all the tools and support you need to complete your tasks. The job culture is great, there are many activities going on involving all employees. They offer insurance for health, life, dental and vision. The health insurance is pricey but compared to other places, it's about the same. You get PTO added into your PTO bank every July and also build up hours every pay period. I have never had a shortage of PTO and it is very nice. The opportunity to advance is great if you put the work in and prove that you deserve to move up. They like hiring internally and its a breeze to transfer. 2 out of my 3 positions have had incredible management with the 3rd being average management style. All in all, I'm glad I started here and I recommend applying to people all the time.

I feel as my time at Christ Hospital has helped me grow in ways I’d have never even thought was possible. The culture at Christ is diverse and everyone is extremely accepting and supportive of one another. I truly believe Christ is one of the best places I’ve worked throughout my lifetime and DEFINITELY the best healthcare job I’ve had. Although upper management is not super involved in my personal day-to-day operations, they are often responsive and do their best to be as helpful as they can. The only downside I believe is that the work can be extremely stressful, and the compensation should definitely be a bit higher in relation to the workload and stress of a hospital job (for PCAs at least). However - they do offer incentive pay, but you only receive these incentives for working shifts outside of your typical work schedule.
