I used to work as an Aide in the skilled nursing department let me start off by saying I absolutely loved my coworkers who worked on the unit with me and I loved all of my residents, in general I loved being able to take care of people and enjoyed doing so I always went above and beyond for the residents there, but in reality that doesn’t matter to upper management they treated all of there employees like garbage it was a constant rotating door there always hiring and firing people for absolutely insane reasons. They are always short staffed on the Units it literally just became and everyday usual thing I started off working the 3-11 shift then went to the 12 hr shift which was from 630pm to 7am not a lot of nursing homes have that shift so that was probably one of the best pros working there was being able to work full time only working 3 days a week but I’ve had multiple issues with staffing during my shifts I was left alone once for over close to 4 hours mind you each unit usually has about 30 40 beds so I had to go around to each room one after thee other just to get residents into bed not only is that hard on a person but it puts the residents in danger too I had to have the nurse working the unit help me answer call lights and get everyone safely into bed meanwhile the nurse also has medication to pass out and a lot of the residents were a 2 person lift it’s just insane it was like nobody cared that worked in management I mean I just don’t see how you can leave one Aide on a unit for anything longer than an hr. This place would be a great place to work for had the management been good the ADON at the time was horrible she didn’t care who you were if your job title is beneath her you were scum on the bottom of her shoe and don’t even bother about trying to put in ideas to help make changes on the unit or if you have any issues they don’t care they don’t do any about it but management is real quick to pass out write ups that are ridiculous from other managers but if aides or nurses have any issues it just gets tossed into the garbage seriously don’t even bother chances are they will find something  anything within a few months to fire you. There are way better places to go work for don’t waste your time.

I was a groundskeeper so I was low on the totem pole but people who put 15-20 years in somehow were also low on the totem pole. I started in summer it was good but Winters can be brutal out here when working and you will never have enough guys/girls to help. The management was okay nothing to write home about some supervisor are awesome tho. It’s the people running the show that have it out for people I’m talking the big cheeses. If you’re not loved or liked one word run. I eventually had to get myself to leave and I did and it turned out to be my best decision I’ve made in a long time.  I ended up acquiring a new job which has made my life more fulfilling and advancement has been incredible. I’m much happier and honestly couldn’t imagine life still being there. For those looking for a groundskeeper job this one will pay the bills but leave you wondering if the money is even worth it.

In charge of 20 bed Alzheimer's /Dementia Unit.Oversaw safety of patients and assisted and monitored meal and fluid intake.Administered medicatications,assessments ,treatments,oversaw CNA's and gave them report,monitored their work .Assisted with ambulating patients .Charting and completed all Physican's orders daily for my assignment.Updated families and patients of any changes in new orders.What I had learned was time management,organization ,and assertiveness from this job.The most enjoyable part of the job was my patients and the staff nurses I worked with.

I’ve had a very positive experience working at The GreenFields. The organization makes a generous contribution toward health insurance, and the pay and hours are competitive. Onboarding and training were thorough, and I feel supported in growing and succeeding in my role.

Coworkers and management are friendly and approachable, and the company puts a lot of effort into employee engagement and appreciation. There are always fun activities for staff—like lunches, ice cream days, competitions, and recognition awards—that create a welcoming and enjoyable workplace culture.

The only downside is the limited PTO and few paid holidays, which are not as competitive as those offered at other health and human services organizations.

Overall, The GreenFields is a supportive and enjoyable place to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not sure. It was ok, but they have a high turnover rate for a reason. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Walking on eggshells kind of feeling. High stress from being called to do this and that while working on a job. Patient demands are all day. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Non inclusive. Non communicative. Clicky.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Walking around looking at order books. Working on mundane tasks. Getting calls on radio for stuff patients need. Can't leave work and if you do all tools and everything has to be picked up. I could be deep into a job then have to pick it all up to come back to it after a call that a patient has dead batteries in their remote. It's frustrating.

I have learned a lot about the non-profit world as i am new to this arena and it has been a humbling experience. This company does a great job of recognizing its employees and creating a positive culture given the tough environment of healthcare and working with the elderly. The hardest part of the job is losing the residents and the health regulations and compliance requirements to ensure we are doing the best for the residents and their families.  The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing how your work directly impacts the resident experience.

I worked as an RSA in the assisted living building, on the 3- 11, or4-9 shift.
My basic duties were helping the residents with showers or getting ready for bed. Supervising dinner time and answering the call lights. The residents are very grateful for your help, and you form great bonds with them. The and the staff and will go out of their way to work with you and the schedules, etc. The atmosphere is fun. They have many giveaways and special occasions where you get free dinners. I would recommend this job to anyone who has a heart for helping people.

Unsure of current working conditions or management, because I haven't recently worked there. It was sometimes understaffed after working there for a while, I was happy with the staffing when I originally started out in 2002, but after a while it got to be too much. Very strenuous on the body and for people who are trying to do their jobs correctly it can be hard to keep up. I just couldn't deal with the working conditions of sometimes 8/9 residents per aide on a Alzhiemers & dementia unit.

I thoroughly enjoy my role as an accountant for GreenFields Continuing Care Community. It's a fulfilling experience knowing that my work directly contributes to providing quality care for our residents. Managing the financial aspects of the facility allows me to support our dedicated staff in their mission to improve the lives of our residents. It's not just a job; it's a chance to make a positive impact, and I'm grateful to be a part of this compassionate team.

I love it here. Everyone is friendly and will help you with anything you ask them to. The problem is that it is farther away being in Lancaster and the pay sux, as a result staffing is terrible. I believe if they raised the rate of pay they would get sooo many more applicants. The place is clean, the residents are treated great. The DON and ADON are great down to earth people that are there if you need something. I believe a LPN is a unit manager there...  overall great place! It’s just really needs to take a look at the pay rates for the employees.
