Promises never fulfilled over and over..  coworkers that will tattle on you for the most minute thing just so they look better because they have structured your jobs to try and compete to be the managers best friend or you get dumped on..... work your butt off and you'll get the pleasure of taking care of everyone else's work that is too lazy to do their own and you better do it with a smile..  3 years and two promotions to get up to a pay rate just for a new employee with zero experience to be hired in at the lowest position making that same pay rate it took you years to get to (which is still low pay for your average).. every individuals pay rate is hush hush because everyone is paid drastically different... favoritism like the plauge.. the only way you advance is playing favorites and even then you'll be promised certain things and never receive them for YEARS.. during covid they have dumped on us every single chance they've got.. took away employee contributions to 401k cut hours etc.. all while posting "record sales" for your store...   all they want is to have the lowest paid employees as possible and to make as much money as possible doing, w.e. they need to to achieve that...

I was with TLG for a few years.  My experience with all the people in the corporate office in Springfield was great.  You did NOT feel like a number.  They were always extremely helpful and nice.

There were a lot of great people at Raleigh as well.  TLG has only been there a few years so there was a lot of personnel turnover, disorganization and craziness over those three years but that's understandable since it is a new location for them.  They are getting better and strive to improve every day.

I had ups and downs there over the three years but I learned a lot and overall had a fun time.  

They are a large dealership with over 20 locations so the corporate office can not control the politics and drama at each location so your experience with TLG can vary greatly depending on who your manager is.  

Just like any dealership, you have to know how to play the dealership game.  Whom you have to flatter and whom you can trust.

Working at a dealership is like Game of Thrones.  If you are not a part of the in-crowd (management mainly) at your particular location you may end up with your head cut off.

If you work hard and play the game correctly you will do fine at TLG.

My first year are TLG has been nothing short of amazing! I have had the honor of meeting and working with many of the leadership at all of our locations. During that time I have been pleasantly surprised to see that everyone has a great culture focused around family. 

I was amazed at how well TLG is set up for working from home or in the office for my position. Of course some positions are based in the shop only and couldn't be completed from home. I was used to very outdated resources so the fact that I don't have a single filing cabinet was very exciting to me. 

We continue to grow and learn and that is not without it's challenges, making the change to our new HRIS system has probably been one of the hardest things. It has come along way and will be a great resource for the company to have available to its employees, I am just excited for it to be fully functioning and everyone on the same system.

Over all I would recommend TLG to anyone and everyone! 

My experience with The Larson Group was very mixed. It seemed as if the company as a whole was very down to earth but as they grew to a larger dealer group they lost some of the passion. Regionally there was a lot of favoritism and some nepotism that occurred. The industry a whole seems like a revolving door of the same people switching companies when things go bad. So when employees jumped ship from our competitors they brought along their work friends and stopped development from within. If you are a great match for the listed job and don't expect growth it may be a good fit for you. But who you know goes further than what you do. This can be seen at all levels of the company, especially at the corporate level in the past few years.

I have been with TLG for almost three years and it has been the best three years of my entire world history.  I knew little to nothing about semis going into this job and now I can see a semi rolling down the highway and indentify parts and see how the work.  If I want to learn something, I ask my manager or someone who might know and they teach me.  Is there stress? Of course there is, I work in the warehouse and everytime it's closing in on inventory time it gets super stressful.  Is it worth it? Yes, I'd say so. Could I get paid more? Sure I could go somewhere and make more, but  you end up hating going to work at those places, here I don't have that morning dread.  If all goes well, I will retire from this company.

I've worked at the Portage, Indiana store for a little over a year and half and its one of the better jobs ive had. Before working here i didnt know much about semis or their parts but i've learned so much that I'm driving them now! I started in parts delivery and a typical day isn't always the same. It can be go go go a whole shift and other days not so much, but even on busy days you don't have someone breathing down your neck or yelling at you to get the work done like some jobs can be. Everyone I work with is easy to get along with and very friendly. I can't complain about any of them. If your looking for a company that you can grow with and learn something new TLG is the place to be! 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Never fix a problem. Just enjoy the blame. Bottom feeders. Give you a pizza party for doing 2 peoples job. Than have the nerve to say ask for help. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As long as it takes to train a person. They treat you like yesterdays trash. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Glum. Most of the time you pray to god that you make it through the day. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Looking at the clock so you can time warp out if there.

Working hard will only get you stabbed in the back unless your friends with management. I saw plenty of workers get away with murder only to be retained. Management will find an excuse to get rid of you for a person with lower pay and then say it's based on absenteeism so the company does not have to pay for unemployment. Also, HR will not even call you back and just support the horrible management in this company.

I learned a great deal while working there. It is a very customer service oriented business. there were opportunities to grow from within. Covid19 and the drop in the economy encouraged Corporate to eliminate my job description otherwise I would still be working there.

The Larson Group's culture is beyond what words can describe! Everyone from the top to the bottom are friendly and willing to lend a helping hand! There is a lot of room for growth and career path potential! I am excited to be apart of a company that is making such a large impact on the industry and setting a top notch standard!
