The Moore Law Group

I worked at The Moore Law Group for about seven months. During that time, the turnover rate was extremely high. New classes of employees were hired regularly, and many people left within their first few weeks. The floor was supposed to have around 20 people, but it often operated with half that number.

Training lasted only about a week and felt rushed. After that, most of the learning had to happen on the floor with very little reference material or ongoing support. When unfamiliar situations came up, asking questions sometimes led to criticism instead of guidance, which made it difficult to feel confident or supported.

Work expectations were demanding. We were required to hit a high number of calls per day, handle both inbound and outbound calls, and collect payments. Even though everyone had the same workload, pay across employees varied widely, which felt inconsistent and discouraging.

The main manager on the floor communicated in a very direct way that often felt unproductive and discouraging. Treatment across employees was not consistent, and some team members received more flexibility or patience than others. The general manager and hiring manager were involved, but concerns about the work environment didn’t seem to lead to any meaningful improvements.

System outages were a constant issue. The platform used for daily tasks would freeze or crash multiple times a day, sometimes for long periods. Even when the system was down and we had no way to work, we were still expected to stay at our desks and maintain the same performance goals, which added a lot of stress.

Despite these challenges, I was frequently one of the stronger performers in terms of amounts collected, but I didn’t feel recognized or supported. When concerns were brought to HR or leadership, the responses didn’t feel helpful, and issues continued without real solutions.

My employment ended suddenly with very little explanation, which was disappointing after consistently meeting the expectations set for me.

I had the distinct pleasure of working for The Moore Law Group for 2 years and if it weren't for my temporary medical issues I would still be there today.

This organization does require you to work efficiently, put in the hours necessary to fulfill the position you were hired to do, but what company doesn't?  Their focus is on team effort and each employee must carry their own weight to ensure overall success.  

The Moore Law Group pays for top performance, has a winning diverse culture and allows their employees to bring to the table their experience, their passion and their ideas to focus on continuous process improvements to stay ahead of the trends within this particular industry.  

The organization's success also comes from taking interest in employee growth and talent and values their feedback in an effort to always look at the big picture.

Employer/community involvement was one of the many "perks" for working here.  Each holiday season each employee, including the owners would find different ways to give back to the community to those less fortunate. The outpouring of selfless giving is a tribute to always driving employee appreciation within the worlplace.

You cannot just have a job at The Moore Law Group, but a desire to learn and succeed as part of an intelligent forward-thinking team.

In addition to giving back to the community, the organization provides monthly recognition lunches, an annual anniversary bowling outing, a holiday party and monthly bonuses/awards for employees who go above and beyond. 

I am honored to have been a part of such a successful organization and would without a doubt welcome any future potential opportunities.

First I would like to clarify something I have seen in other reviews that I feel is somewhat unfair. The Moore Law Group is a fast paced environment, and is deadline driven. While this may seem stressful to some (and at times it is), that will happen at any job and it is the reality at any law firm. That is simply how the industry works. It is not management's fault that the legal industry operates in this manner and I would not consider them "mean" for simply caring that deadlines are met. 

That aside, I'm quite happy with my position here. In my time here, I've been able to gain a substantial amount of experience in civil litigation, as the firm handles the entire lifespan of creditor's rights cases, from cradle to grave. Because of the fast paced environment, you'll learn a lot, and fast. 

While this job enables me to acquire significant experience, it also very rarely requires me to stay past the standard 40 hour work week, and so I am able to practice law, but also enjoy my evenings and weekends with friends and family. 

As far as the culture and coworkers are concerned, I can honestly say I enjoy spending time with my coworkers. We have fun and joke back and forth every day. 

Finally, training is continuous, so you never feel as though you've been thrown into the deep end without any guidance. In my experience here, people have ALWAYS been happy to answer questions and help in any way they can if I ever had any questions.

I worked here for a while now and this place is really only good to get your foot in the door into the legal field. People usually work here for 1-3 years and then quit. 

Those who stay here longer usually have higher positions. The workload is miserable and never ending. The pay sucks. They have more work than people and expect you to do the job of 2-3 people yet they cannot provide proper equipment to help you work faster. 

You can believe that you’re doing good at your job only for them to rip you to shreds at the annual review. They will nitpick and come up with the dumbest reasons as to why you’re not good enough and not give you a raise. Such as not putting enough effort in by not wanting to do overtime. Overtime is an OPTION and not mandatory but they will make it seem like this is mandatory. 

They also hire people with “big titles” but they’re not in office half the time. These people try to “improve” the workplace but in reality they’re only throwing numbers around and telling you to do more. 

There’s also a lot of drama going on in between departments. Managers won’t listen to you because they don’t want to stir trouble with other departments even though those departments are causing you to not be able to do your job effectively. They say they listen to employees but this is not true. if it is too troublesome, they won’t do anything about it. When it becomes a big issue, they will blame you for it. 

In addition, clerks always take the blame for attorney mistakes even though they are also responsible for checking the work. 

Let’s be reasonable here- if the pay sucks, don’t expect people to put in effort. 

TMLG is understaffed, overworked, and expanding too quickly. My only training in the 7 months that I worked at TMLG was shadowing my coworkers and managers for about an hour at a time to learn how to prepare the legal documents that were assigned to me. I tried making and updating my own work instructions, but to no avail.

Communication is terrible between management, attorneys, and legal assistants. You have to ask for everything from advice to feedback. I was not told that I was so bad at preparing documents (that I thought I was preparing just fine) until a monthly report came out with statistics. The standard for excellence at this company is 97% accuracy in preparing documents. Not many people can consistently hit that standard given the lack of training or workload that's expected of staff.

The pay is low for legal assistants who do most of the "grunt work" for the firm. I was promised a merit raise after 6 months of working there and they never gave it to me.

Management did not treat me very well, especially when I messed up documents that I thought I was preparing correctly. I always felt that I was causing more problems than helping. Most people feel that way and as a result, overall morale is low and their infrastructure is tearing at the seams.

The main positive for me was that I was able to learn about different legal documents, the litigation and post-judgment cycles, but that's about all. TMLG was a stepping stone for me to hopefully get into a better law firm.

I got this job a little after graduating from college. I was worried I would never find a job but luckily I got a call back from The Moore Law Group and the rest is history. In my time here, I have learned so much. I learned a lot about the legal field and it has reinvigorated my drive to continue my goal of becoming a lawyer. With that being said, I  also learned the negative aspects of corporate/office life. My direct manager is great and treats all of us with respect. He encourages us to do our best and meet our deadlines as best as possible. Everyone in the department is friendly towards one another and is willing to help each other out. Some negatives about the job, along with every job ever, is that some people can make your work life difficult for no reason other their own ignorance to follow procedure or communicate when necessary. Working with some is easy and comes naturally, but others have repeatedly been difficult to work with. Teamwork and common ground should be easy to come by in the workplace, but it is hard to do so when opposing parties refuse to come to any understanding other than their own. Aside from problems in that regard, this is a great place to come and learn. People are supportive and willing to help. There is a lot to be learned, one must have the courage and strength to approach it.

If you have professional experience, you can rate this place mediocre, which I am entitled to rate it as Mediocre. These people are lazy and do not care about anything. It's a sorry place of business from corporate to the Vegas location. Advice to entry level, please do not pick up their nasty, Incompetent, unprofessional behavior and habits. You will be better off taking a job somewhere else. If you show a glimpse of potential you  will f threaten the poor lady that desperately needs her job and she take you down. I don't blame the people that feel the need to if they're have no future anywhere else. Goes to show you that YOUR position doesn't matter. I had countless issues of wanting to learn and train as my position was more than an asisstant. But people like to complain that they have too much work to do yet sleeps at their desk for most time of the day. Unacceptable! The only reason why they're looking for entry level now is because they hired me, an over-qualified profession that experience actual levels of work than them, and realized they rather have someone who doesn't know well how structure and organization should work. You will remember this review when you take the job and you're sitting there watching the person you're assisting bobbing her head back and forth with her eyes close and snoring. Good luck.

I started at The Moore Law Group fresh out of college. I hadn't been getting any calls back and was amazed when after the interview here I was offered the position. I've worked at two different places since TMLG and I regret leaving. It's a very fast-paced environment and can get frustrating at times but overall it's a great place to start learning about the legal system. I worked closely with most attorney's in my time there and they were all willing to help. The only reason I left was because the one attorney I needed to work closely with (who is no longer there) was treating me unfairly. All the legal assistants that were in my department were great people to work with. My supervisor was also one of the best I've ever had as she was always willing to answer any questions and she was constantly trying to make changes that would positively benefit us all in the department. Upper management was also accessible and willing to listen to any concerns or ideas. If you want to get into the legal field and need a place to start I'd definitely recommend accepting a position here if offered.

I have worked for The Moore Law Group for 5 months. The best part of the job are the people. I love my co-workers and all the staff. We ALL work together to get the job done. No matter what department you are in there is this feeling that we are all in this together. Prior to this job I worked for a large fortune 500 organization so coming into  a smaller firm was a huge culture shock but I wouldn't trade it for the world! There is something to be said about the culture of a smaller firm. We are a crazy little family!  Also, because it is a smaller firm when something needs to get done it happens ASAP as opposed to larger corporations that require way more approvals because there is a lot more red tape. 

The work load is a lot and the learning curve is steep but if you got what it takes, YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!

Work environment is not bad. Everyone is really nice, and always offering to help. Management like to see you succeed and always follow up on my work progress. I think it really depends on who your manager is, and how well your manager open his/her door to communication. I never felt like I asked a stupid question, and I am always encouraged to suggest new ideas. Workload is definitely heavy, but like any other jobs, there are deadlines to meet. My manager is always flexible to give me extensions with a reasonable explanation. I can tell HR tries their best to bring people together during COVID, but it can be difficult during times like this where gathering is frown upon. My first time researching TMLG, I saw high turnover rates and i was quite nervous. After working here for a few months, i realized that collectors come and go hence the high turn over rates. Managers, Supervisors , and Leads I talked to stayed with the firm for 4+ years. They are really fair about giving chances, i don't see them firing anyone unless an individual did something very destructive.  I do wish TMLG offer trainings/education programs reimbursements.
