High turnover rate for Resident Assistants/STNAs. Do not always have proper staffing for care areas. Management would rather have one nurse work teo units at once before coming in to help. Management is clique-y and favors certain staff over others. Terminated PRN staff by text message who couldn't pick up hours while the facility had active COVID-19 cases. Many things swept under the rug instead of being reported to the state. Management brushed off staff concerns about potential Resident abuse. Kept staff that were witnessed asleep on the job. Unit managers didn't know their Residents. Staff was told that Residents needed to engage in certain stations in order for the facility to continue to receive grant funds. Kept Residents in units where they could not be cared for properly due to decline in health and cognition. Cares more about the physical appearance of the building than for the well-being of the Residents. Staff were given raises based on performance, but given review based on what they DIDN'T do, rather than did (i.e., staff became upset when told they had to move to a different unit to work after beginning their shift, this was the focus rather than all of the shifts that the staff member had picked up to help with staffing issues).

This is a great place to end your career. Management is so unprofessional, poor clinical judgement and contribute to hostile work environment. Chance are when your scheduled to work when you come in you will be only one to show up and responsible for 50+ residents to yourself. FUN times! Threats of reporting you to board if you leave for abandonment, yet you physically cannot take care of that many residents to one aid or nurse. You will be hired for one unit but will work what ever unit placed. Favoritism huge priority here. Favorite people get to work where they want, bumping you to floors and assignments wishing you had never shown up. Everyday you will question yourself why do you keep putting yourself through this cause it will never change with managements broken promises. There are different rules for who your talking about. Rules do not apply to everybody. Management is very clicky and they will believe anyone in that click. This place gives other facilities bad name. Training sucks, you have people who were just trained training others. When you look at this job and apply and accept offer, you must be desperate. Only people that are desperate work at this facility.

Working here has been definitely an education on how not to run an assisted living community.I loved the residents which is why I stayed too long but when I showed up to work I never knew what I was now going to be required to do on top of my already full tasks.Most of the nurses were unwilling or unable to help so you were pretty much on your own.When office staff goes home at 430 you also have to handle all of the outside calls too on top of everything else.You want to be there for all the residents but because a few residents abuse the call system that we’re required to answer each and every time,it becomes impossible.Nothing is really done about it and as a result you end up spending a lot of your time on a few.This could be a great place if they hired more quality people and dealt with the few residents abusing the system so all the residents can be benefited.I would work here again if those changes were made

Tis place is awful!!  There is absolutely NO way to advance your career or move up the ladder at this company.  Management does not care about the residents, only the money.  They rule the workplace with fear and intimidation, making you afraid to make any decisions on your own without consulting your supervisor.  Management does not, despite what they say, care about the opinions of the general workforce and do NOT want people with different viewpoints than their own.  They see this as you do not know what you are doing or talking about, as opposed to simply having a different viewpoint, or actually doing the job.  There is very little communication between management and everyone else, and between departments.  Their business decisions make no logical sense, as they cut back in one area, but spend money extravagantly in areas they really do not need to, that give 0 return on investment.

Browning Masonic Community is a great place for residents to age successfully and also a great place to work. I love my job. I get to plan and facilitate meaningful activities for residents. The activities we plan are based solely on the desires of the residents. For example, we had a resident tell us that she wanted to learn a foreign language and it just so happens that I speak Spanish, so we started a Spanish class. Another resident gathered her peers to teach them how to do a craft that she loves. There's never a day that I don't learn something new from either residents or co-workers. We also launched our Masterpiece Living wellness initiative this past January. This initiative encourages residents to continue to set and achieve goals and break through the barriers that come with old age. The most enjoyable part of my job is listening to the aspirations of our residents who realize that old age doesn't mean dying; it's just living longer.

I have been at this facility 2+ years and it's nothing but a joke. The hours are good, but pay Is terrible. No department can keep help because no body wants to work under these conditions. Skilled Nursing is ALWAYS short staffed. We are so short staffed they are having housekeepers and laundry help out on skilled nursing for extra hours, people who are not even certified to be doing what they're doing. A nurse was just fired for negligence. The director of Dining cannot order proper stock for the weeks upcoming meals, doesn't care anymore. Management doesn't seem to care about any of the ongoing issues here at WRMC. We haven't had a solid president/administrator for years, they're always leaving and being replaced. How can we build a solid community if we have no leadership here?? As a current employee, knowing exactly how this facility runs, I would NEVER EVER put a loved one here.

With the Current administrator as of 2018, they dropped the ball. The Dietary Department has been struggling for months, major turnover, no manager. Where is help? No where to be found. STAFF kept the kitchen running, everybody working long hours. With no raises, even when they have been asked for. Then the administrator hires his good friend as a GM for the kitchen. Who has no facility experience. On top of that let’s hire an expensive customer service consultant to tell us how to fold a napkin differently, when we clearly need to focus on hiring staff and fixing months old broken equipment and getting the kitchen in properly working order. It’s like putting lipstick on a dump. Kitchen morale is at 0, and in result creates stressful work environment and poor food quality. When expressing concerns, you’re disregarded. They expect the world from you with just a penny in return.

Not enough staff at the cost of patient care. The upper management would tell us when inspectors would come and they would send more nurses and nurse aides to make it look like there were enough employees until inspectors left. Employees would scramble to clean these helpless people temporarily until they passed inspection.Patients would not be fed at times and had to sit in bodily fluids most of the day.walked off my job due to no being able to get the management to listen to my concerns about how other employees mistreated residents. Years later that place still haunts my thoughts because I could not get management to care and too see so many human beings suffer.

Used to be a great place to work, but the new administrator is horrible.  They have created an environment of fear and intimidation and are proud of it.  There is absolutely NO appreciation for hourly employees, and it is ALL about money.  They no longer care about the residents, only lining their OWN pockets and strengthening their resumes.  Do something right thousands of times for years and no one notices nor says thank you.  Do it wrong ONCE and BAM! you're written up or fired.  They would much rather fire people than to take a bad experience or situation and turn it into a learning experience.  Unless you are cronies with management, too are trash and not worth the time of day.

They are all about appearances.. that 5 star rating. They lie to get you in, paint a pretty picture of such a wonderful place. They really push that 1:10 ratio, which is the biggest lie. They run that place with the bare minimum and if you’re stuck on a floor where they only staff one aid or you’re stuck with a lazy aid.. GOOD luck. The workload is absolutely ridiculous for the amount they staff. They say part of it is assisted living when in reality half of it is just as much care as the long term floor.. they just hire non certified people, call them RAs.. pay them less and expect them to do the work of an STNA. Half the staff is rude and unhelpful, especially some of the nurses… there were a couple really helpful aids and nurses.. but the majority are not. Just don’t do it. Plenty of other places around that pay more and are less chaotic.
