The Party Staff

In all actuality it’s the perfect place for someone wanting to make there own schedule who either serves, wash dishes, or cook but a terrible place for admin. The worst part about it is they refused to hire people who start as server who later become qualified. Although this wasn’t the case for me I begin noticing more and more negative things. The now HR manager trash talks and have even bluntly gossip about their superior... well everyone really. Where is the open door policy or professionalism? The top HR personnel is unqualified for the role and do not know humans and a better fit for operations which could be non existent without the help of the more tenure leadership. 

With so many changes and updates they lost a lot of great people due to the hostile environment. HR is controlled using CA laws and actions are not taken into consideration for the individual office but still have yet to be standardize to optimize performance. I have performed EVERY role and have not been compensated or recognized for my efforts. 

Overall take the chance if you are new to admin and have office experience but write everything down! Don’t wait for clarification when new policies are “emailed”. Get your experience and go to a more established environment. 

So many broken promises and lies from corporate leadership. Do not take first offer! You are worth more.

Last I checked the CEO was becoming more involved which is good because he is a great guy! Hopefully this information is old and they have new VPs??? (Not actual VPs).

Ineffective and inefficient. They fall behind in the industry, held back by very oldschool processes of hiring and software. The most over-priced temp agency in town with poor quality field staff. They are often no-shows, users, criminals, homeless, etc. and if they do show up for shifts they’re often not experienced or quality. I saw the profit margins on client rates but the staff are paid lower than any temp agency too. Office staff barely make more. Absent manager and incompetent staffing coordinator. Their competitiveness while inability to communicate with teammates or complete tasks and processes they set forth themself was shocking. Many meetings week after week to figure out the problems, and instead of solving them they would create new ways to do things, that they then would never follow through on it. Our office was frequently TOLD to cover phones and/or office work remotely for other offices across the country that were under-staffed, with NO salary bumps. They over-work you with low pay, no raise, no job title, and no business cards. Additionally you are required to work weekends answering callouts and calls from clients who have your field staff no show. It’s very negative. Lots of problems here, stay away!!

This is an OK job, but it could be a really GREAT job if they paid a living wage. This company counts on the fact that most people with a passion for service are people who care about serving others, and there fore put themselves last-and tend to settle for LESS than what they are truly worth.
That being said, this is a good place to work if you like and need flexibility in your life. They have online access to your calendar and job offerings, you set your own schedule and hours and choose which assignments you want to take. They offer a lot of PAID classes for service industry professionals. The office staff and staffing coordinators work with you to try to get you the type of work you most want to do. You can end up getting stuck in unpleasant places if you do not voice your desires.
Great way to see a lot of really big, really cool events in the area.

This is the perfect gig for when you are in-between jobs, need some time off a full-time or need extra cash at the end of the month.  I work as server and bartender and - if you do good and get 'clients requests' you get enough jobs offers to work twice a day every day. The online availability calendar is simple and straightforward with a bunch of informations that tells you everything about the event; perfect for prickly pear workers. The thing I dig the most is for those clients that are stuck in the '90's or  forgot we are in the hospitality industry, you can turn the tables and refuse their job offers. This year I worked the Emmy's, Golden Globes, Grammy's and getting ready for the Oscars and I am having a good 'ol time.

I liked the flexibility with the Party Staff job and not being penalized when I didn't work.  The management team was always respectful and helped whenever I needed them.  The hardest part of this job was at the beginning of the shift for room set-up and at the end of the shift for shut down of the venue.  i liked the fact that I was sort of my own boss when working and as long as the job was getting completed in a timely manner I was able to manage my own time including lunch time and breaks.  I liked the employee moral with this job and made a lot of great friends who made going to work fun and pleasurable.  I like the team work environment where employees help each other until the job was done and everyone was willing to do their part and would help those that had more to do or who didn't get their job done in the time allotted.  Best of all I liked feeling like I was a vital part of this business and felt that my input was valued and listened to and implemented when necessary.

Compassion, enjoyment, productive, perception toward handicaps. The choice to accept working or not without repercussions. I really liked working there. I am handicap use a walker,they didn't frown on that at all. I was treated like everyone else. I  was able to attend different events all over Arizona, places and events, that I could only dream of being there, probably just watching on TV. I really really missed that.  It's a great company to work for especially if you're retired or supplementing your income. The job pays conveniently. Is located in a good area. Conveniently easy to contact and always have a job for you. There staff is very professional and courtesy. The staff makes me feel that they are happy to have me there, which would make anyone, especially an employee feel good and want to continue spreading good will and happiness. 




Being the Staffing Coordinator for the Denver Office has never had its share of dull moments. 

I am in charge of staffing all events, making sure that necessary information is on the event for staff to know, as well as making sure all client information is known and on file for the back office side of things. I am in charge of handling all staffing requests and refusals, making sure that all employment protocols are followed from an HR point of view, knowing how to utilize and operate third party systems for specific clients, knowing contractual agreements and upholding them, and am also in charge of all invoicing for clients and making sure that the payroll is completed for all staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I got to work in so many different places in such a variety of settings as well as various positions in the hospitality industry. we always encouraged each other and enjoyed working

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
We knew there was no tips especially if you were bartending and they were paying with a credit card tips got absorbed into the company

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It can vary with every shift but our supervisor Veronica price was very encouraging and very upbeat

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every job was different. Sometimes we wore a white shirt with a bow tie or a black shirt with a long black tie or khaki pants and a polo shirt as long as you check in with the supervisor and got the orders for the day just kind of wing it

After 18 years in restaurants, catering companies, and kitchens, "The Party Staff " was an excellent place to begin taking the skills I had learned in those venues and putting them to work in the exciting world of Special Events!

I enjoyed being at different events and in a different type of service role for almost every shift! One night you could be scheduled as a food server, the next night a bartender, and the next a lead server or event manager, and "The Party Staff " provides paid training for just about all of those positions!!

I met and worked with some incredibly talented people and had a lot of fun along the way!

To anyone who wants to be involved in the world of special events"The Party Staff " is by far the best company to explore with!

I was employed as a contract server and bartender for over two years. In the beginning there were times when I almost didn't need a second job and the office staff were supportive. 
Over the two years I was there the office employees changed so frequently and erratically that there was no sense of follow-through within the company.
Suddenly I was down to working two to three shifts PER MONTH and communication flew out the window. They also have a reputation within the Denver catering community as being one of the most expensive temp agencies to hire, while no longer supplying the quality staff expected. Not to mention that they make high profits and pay the staff barely above minimum wage. Disappointing.
