While the company emphasizes its commitment to a positive company culture, the actions of executive management and HR paint a different picture. Lack of support for management decisions and frequent retractions by HR or executives create a challenging environment. Despite long-tenured employees, there's a pervasive sense of insecurity. Decision-makers often lack insight into day-to-day operations and resort to frequent changes rather than addressing underlying issues like departmental roles and compliance issues. The recent shift to hybrid work without explanation further exacerbates talent retention challenges. Overall, there's a disconnect between company rhetoric and operational reality. While the CEO's efforts to communicate positively via email are commendable, they fail to garner trust or credibility among employees. Despite well-intentioned messages, employees perceive them as lacking substance or sincerity. As a result, there's a significant disconnect between the CEO's communication efforts and employees' trust in their leadership.  While the talent among department VPs / Directors /Managers is undeniably impressive, their lack of decision-making authority undermines their effectiveness. Despite their expertise and capabilities, they are often unable to enact meaningful changes or initiatives. This underutilization of talent represents a missed opportunity for the company to leverage the skills and insights of its leadership team

A typical day at Promptcare is to come in work with at least 10 emails. The emails are about patients I am currently working on, new patients, and whose off today. I would typical get 4-5 new patients a day while working on the orders from the pervious days. I am in consistent communication with sales representatives, liaisons, case managers, respiratory therapist, drivers, and dispatch. I have learned time management is everything with this job. I need to be able to stay off top my work load. I have to submit authorizations and flow up with them. The work place culture is ok. We all communicate with each other. Every now and then we will do a pot luck to bring every department together. The hardest part of the job is to not get frustrated. It's been times that the communication between the case manger, sales representative, and respiratory therapist have not been on the same page. Some where along the line someone was told the wrong information. It's my job to get us all back on track. The most enjoyable part is when someone tells me I did a good time. This job can be stressful at times so it's nice to know somebody is recognizing my hard work and efforts.

When I started at the company the atmosphere felt like it was a positive team environment with plenty of support from above, as well as room for advancement. Fast forward a few years and things have changed quite a bit.

With some new owners, and what feels like a culling of effective leaders, hard work and adherence to safety standards seem to go unnoticed, while bad behavior and laziness get rewarded.

Another issue of late is that the major promotions all seem to get handed out to people who share family ties to upper management, regardless of how well suited that person may or may not be for the role. In other words, if your last name isn't X, Y or Z....don't bother applying for a higher position.

Currently, across multiple branches, employees are overworked, drastically unsupported by their leaders, held to unrealistic standards with no rhyme or reason (and don't bother to ask because reasons) and the team environment has all but disappeared. People are burnt out and not being compensated fairly despite the fact that the company seems to always have plenty of money to buy out smaller companies and hand out bonuses to executives.

Pay & benefits
Pay is not terrible but for the amount of work they throw your way isnt worth it

Management
Training is not good. They train you half way and then say good luck. I do understand that a lot of things are only able to be learned by doing and learning but a lot of small things are not communicated with you that can make your job easier. This is more of a live and learn type of training. Unless you ask questions you probably will never learn anything

Culture
Great culture. Human resource is excellent and so is upper management. Very friendly place to work

Overall
Overall, the company is good. Im not happy about my pay because of the amount of work that is thrown my way. It is a very high paced, demanding job. You have to know how to multitask and prioritize your time. You must also be very organized. I think they put too much on their customer service reps. We literally do everything to phone calls, insurance matters, scheduling and coordinating supplies, and prescription requests. Company is understaffed and probably always will be.

Your day involves trouble shooting medical equipment in the home care setting, you have to be prepared for almost anything as a Respiratory Therapist, out on the road. As a supervisor I was involved in training RT whom had no experience working with cpap, bipap, and liquid oxygen. You can get calls anytime during the night for any respiratory related problems. My co-workers are a strong team, that I developed to help in assisting each other. The hardest part is losing 
an employee who couldn't handle the position.  I really enjoy using my Respiratory Skills in training patients and their families, especially mechanical ventilators in the home. Things are constantly
changing, so you have to keep up with your continuing education classes that are provided by the N.B.R.C. and local hospitals


Experience,  work ethic and exemplary work performance mean nothing. Good employees are let go while subpar employees are retained. Newer people placed in management and executive positions are on a power trip and setting employees and the company up to fail.  People with less experience and deplorable work ethic are promoted while employees who go above and beyond with years of experience are released. The company could cate less about it's employees as long as the executives meet their numbers and get their bonuses.  
As a Healthcare company they should be ashamed how they treat the employees who actually care about the patients and go above and beyond. Some employess are constantly helping the same individuals for months and months yet they still fail but are retained while the helping employee are let go. Unethical management at its best. 

Don’t do it y’all. I felt so uncomfortable since day one but I tried to give it a chance. I came here from being a pharmacy technician I wanted to learn billing so they promised to teach me. The training is horrible and they train you as if you already know but they do things differently here. The team leads have been there for 8 plus year you ask them a question they don’t know anything. They bill incorrectly and there favorite response is “ it’s ok to make mistakes” not for me especially if I don’t know what I’m doing. They have no way of letting you know if you’re doing anything wrong unless a collector complains about you. They have like 50 million chats to communicate on teams and if you do something wrong they will broadcast it to the whole billing team instead of telling you separately. This place is the worst place I’ve ever worked. 

Working at Prompt Care has been a great experience.  I currently work a 12 hours shift and generally see between 45 to 80 patient's a day.  This job has given me a chance to gain a lot of knowledge about caring for a variety of age groups.  This clinic offers both acute and primary care to a slightly diverse culture.  Living in southern West Virginia limits the exposure to a great deal of diversity.  Prompt Care is privately owned and within the past 2 years has become a NP clinic only.  This change has been somewhat difficult to adjust to and poor management has created tension among some of the staff.  I really enjoy seeing my regular patient's who I have established a great provider/ client relationship with however, management problems have created a desire for me to seek new employment.

If you lack education and the desire to progress in your career this is probably a good place for you. If you're ambitious and professional...then probably not.

The culture is one of absolute fear and anxiety which trickles down directly from the execs due to their own insecurities. They simply do not care about extra effort, hard work, or the progression of anyone's career as long as they hit their numbers for PE ownership. 3 different CFO's over a 10 month period pretty much sums up the disarray at this "organization".   

Unprofessional and disruptive behavior is rampant and completely ignored in most cases. HR is weak and couldn't care less either, so don't go looking to them for help. The way different groups and departments interact with one another is actually appalling.

This was a company that had poor management, and a retired military doctor. He had a very negative review amoung patients and the community that he worked in. Once people found out that is who I was employed with looked at me and didnt understand why I was there, I started looking for other employment since the pay was not up tp par even though I had a certifications in my field and was national, he would not give me a raise, so I went somewhere else that was a better environment and paid me what I deserved and actually cared for the people that we were treating.
