The day goes by fast. Lots of turn over help. Usually there’s a core tech that pulls cases for the next day. The reps that work there are wonderful. They are on it! Patient focused practices are adhered to as well. Workplace culture is “clicky” between OR managers and Staff, there is a sense of entitlement with some people in leadership roles. There seems to be major lack of leadership training for those promoted to those roles. The hardest part of the job is taking direction from people who lack knowledge in giving directives that are not experienced or equipped with the skill to manage a team. The specialties are fun to work in, total joints, sports med, and ortho spine. Good place to work in that they provide incentives if you pick up an extra shift, paid holidays, no on call. They have friendly hospital staff, and the CEO does listen to staff ideas and concerns. That’s actually pretty cool. Over all my experience could have been better, given that the leadership I was working with lacked major skills in communication. The work itself is fun if you enjoy helping people and can manage to keep your own  vibe in check. 

My time at CISH was disappointing.

My peers were extremely unprofessional and provided little to no encouragement or guidance. Often times gossiping about the appearance (Age/ethnicity) and mental capabilities of patients and colleagues 

Training was half a day of shadowing before I was thrown into a large scope of the positions responsibilities. Mistakes made along the way, in most part due to poor training, were judged harshly.

Concerns for patients safety in regard to equipment and furniture in facility were disregarded entirely when brought to managerial attention.

It’s absurd to expect the same quality of work and pay regardless of the amount of tasks at hand, the length they take and the difficulty of said tasks. 

Two weeks prior to my departure from CISH, In my last meeting I was told that I could always be replaced and needed to lower my standards. 

The bright side of CORE, looking forward, there really can’t be worse. Come here if your looking for rock bottom in terms of quality of employment. 

 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The benefits anre great but Other than that this is the most toxic environment I’ve ever worked in. Especially in the cafe

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The extremely toxic people you have to work with and HR isn’t any help either. They look at you like you’re the problem and you need to change to fit in.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Extremely toxic don’t recommend this place at ALL!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Mentally stressful someone is always playing games and setting you up to fail. No team work. Lots of finger pointing.

The staff is generally great, but since CORE took over control it is spiraling down hill. Overtime is a must, family means nothing. Training is a joke, new grads doing onboarding and training. Operating room / Periop director focuses only on OR staff. CNO lives in the past and looses it if questioned. Benefits are a joke. No standard of care, profit is the only mission. High patient ratio and little support from staff. Cafe' is excellent. Not worth a look unless you have no life outside work.

Great people focused on delivering great patient care.

Teams work well together to help each other when it gets stressful.

Team focused, people matter, and leadership is there to help

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Rewarding. It feels good to help our patients and make them feel they are in good hands.

Admitting surgery patients from start shift to mid afternoon, handle patients calls regarding Financials, chart prep for upcoming cases . Admitting management is great!!! 
Getting to know others in different departments and build relationships. 

Wish the culture was better and certain people notice who does a great job and deserves promotions rather than seeing all the good ones go 

The Core is a Great place to work when I was there. It had the best staff to work with, who were all willing to learn from each other. Management was always good to us and  they kept a great work culture and attitude in place for us to work together.

at the beginning of the year we had a tech placed on suspension for changing hours in kronos. And after being suspended for a few weeks was allowed to come back to work agents the pharmacy directors approval. After not even a month of the tech being back the pharmacy director ended up walking out due do their job being threatened multiple times by administration. Simply not a fan of how the events played out or how some people have been treated in the proses.

This company from my experience and many others that I started with does not value its employees and they do not train nor give the tools needed for success. Response time with management or human resources is either hours long or non existent all together and then they use it against you to build a case for termination.

I worked 3 12 hr shifts but sometime it was 14 hrs I learned more about the operating room and how it works management is ok the  employees were awesome the hardest part was working long hours and no food . I loved working with the nurses and admissions people human resources people and anesthesia providers were awesome
