Think Whole Person Healthcare

I really enjoyed my time at Think. As an experienced CNA working my way through school,  the environment was perfect for me. When I told providers that I was in respiratory school, they frequently allowed me to assist or observe procedures to learn more. I held a PRN status there, which meant I simply told the nurse manager what days/times I wanted to work each week and she assigned me a provider or providers to serve at the beginning of each shift. My duties included rooming patients, taking vitals, charting, handling faxes (e-scripts), scheduling, basic screenings/questionnaires, giving vaccines, assisting with procedures and pap smears, cleaning, stocking, and running samples to the on-site lab.

The one thing I found daunting was learning the workflows for the different providers. Since I assisted every provider in the building, I had to ensure I was doing things how they wanted, and each provider had different needs. Some wanted me to be very involved in care, screenings, and scheduling follow ups, while others wanted me to just room their patients and get out of there as quickly as possible. Figuring out how each provider preferred their charting to be done was kind of overwhelming, but there was often a nurse or MA there to give me a quick rundown at the beginning of my shift. 

Pay was on the lower side for someone with my experience, especially having come from the hospital setting where I was consistently making almost $20/hr with shift differentials, but the flexible scheduling and supportive culture more than made up for it. 

The only major downside for me was the pace of the workday. In my role, it could be very slow, especially if the provider preferred that I be as quick as possible rooming their patients. This often meant that I had downtime of about 30 minutes while they saw their patients, and it could get very boring if there was nothing else to do. I sometimes did homework to pass the time.

Think is not a good place to work, period. Staff morale is poor and several providers are extremely disrespectful and inappropriate to their team. The pay and free breakfast/lunch is what lured me in. Insurance premiums are high and they don’t offer vision. Their training is poor and they throw you into your position with high expectations. Management does not have your back and they talk behind it too.  Their meetings consist of pure gossip. 90% of the management should not be in that role. Favoritism is definitely present. It’s also still a new company so they are learning their structure. It changes often. No matter how hard you work or if you go above and beyond, it’s never noticed. If it is noticed, it’s ignored. Roles and responsibilities for all positions is non existent. They expect you to do everything and not worry about what others are or are not doing. As an RN, I was doing tasks that a secretary or different department should be doing. I never felt that my nursing skills were utilized. A lot of great healthcare workers, ie. physicians, nurses, CMAs, schedulers, etc. have left due to reasons above. Most recently, several highly regarded providers resigned and most of their patients left with them. I think that has a lot to say about this money hungry company. Overall, this is a poor company to work for and I would advise to steer clear.

Think is a great place to work!! It's a busy place, but not your typical doctor's office.  The warmth and friendliness of patients and staff, the beautiful inviting aesthetics, our cafe and gift shop can brighten up anyone's day. As with any start-up company there have been bumps and bruises along the way, and not everything has been easy or always to my liking, but the reason I am still here is because of the cooperativeness of the team and staff I work with every day and our desires to work together to take care of each other and our patients by doing whatever we can.  I can see efforts by our senior leadership to hear concerns that are voiced from staff and make strides to make changes and interact more with staff in their day-to-day roles.  Our employee engagement team is a group of staff from various areas that have worked cohesively together over the last several years to encourage recognition of staff and do fun things to take out the monotony of the workday!!  I left the hospital setting not only to have better working hours, but to be able to really enjoy what I do every day and have closer connections with staff and patients and Think is that for me!!! Think has made outpatient work for me rewarding and although I miss the excitement of a busy ER, traumas, and mass transfusion protocols in the hospital setting, I know that I am in the right place for this season in my life!!

The building is beautiful set with a professional relaxing atmosphere, very well-being incorporated, clinical, open air feel. The cafeteria for employees feels a lot like a college dining hall which is homey but can be awkward if you don’t get along with colleagues or prefer eating alone. The lunches are well made, usually healthy, and very good, like home cooked meals. However when it comes to the actual work managements a little chaotic, it is short staffed in seemingly most departments, many staff members float and/or rotate areas. Communication is not the best from my experience. It is often busy and patients can be impatient and expect you to cater to them more often than not as the company wants things to feel very individualized to each patient as if they are the center of attention. Most of the clientele of patients are older though there are plenty of younger patients, there are not many children as Think doesn’t have a peds department. I don’t think Think is a good or bad place to work, I do think it depends what you are willing to put up with, it does feel a little high school 

Think used to be a building full of amazing and caring people who wanted to change healthcare and take care of patients.  The goal of the facility was never to be the leanest in the healthcare business, but to have good outcomes at a lower cost.  New leadership took over and it was all about the money.  Goals were unclear and leadership was sneaky and underhanded.  Everything was about the "spin" and not transparency and honesty.  The culture is horrible clear to the top.  HR does nothing to defend its loyal employees they just tow the line and do what they are told.  There are some amazing providers in the building, but the kind caring employees are all leaving.   I think the saying goes - people don't leave companies - they leave leadership and that is certainly true here.  This is the place to go if you want to work for people who lie and treat people terribly

Loved my job in the beginning, but when covid hit we had management changes and it all went down hill from there. Leadership was a joke, management changes were for the worse, and all they cared about was making money. They came up with sneaky tactics, had schedulers and nurses calling patients to try to coax them into office, etc. Treatment of employees became so disgusting, forcing extra work, not giving any raises but forcing tons of extra workloads on employees, charging for lunches and items that were once free with ridiculous excuses, furloughed people with promises for guaranteed rehire and then all of them were just let go once the leadership changes happened. Sad... Place had promise, now it's just another all about money company.

My job is not stressful at all ..

The environment is very welcoming and friendly everyone says good morning company is very inclusive 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
OK.. I'm one of the guys that will feed you in the cafetería.. I get in at 6am so I will be the face you see i will make coffee and tea and breakfast..then start preparing for lunch I will prepare cook and serve you your lunch

I love working at Think!  From the first day that I started  I knew it was going to be a great place to work. Every person that I encountered made me feel very welcomed. The senior management staff is very engaged with employees. The CEO makes a point to walk around and visit with employees and will ask how they are doing, and if they needed anything.
They do a great job of allowing you to balance work and family. 
The company offers great benefits. So happy to be a part of a great team.

In my line of work- I am used to dealing with many different personalities, difficult co-workers, unrealistic expectations, and larger than life ego’s. 
This place is very Toxic, and unprofessional. 
From Nursing Managers sharing personal information to others about their staff, to the main chef being very argumentative, to training being a gigantic waste of time. 
They over promise, and under deliver. 
Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing! 
Make sure the person interviewing you is actually your boss. 

Think Whole Person Healthcare is an innovative change to the way we use healthcare daily. Still working out their bugs but all of their hardworking staff is on board. There staff is generally very helpful. I loved working with the pharmacy staff and any times I would need to work with the physicians and their support staff. They were all great and very helpful.
