I have been at Thrive for 10 years and plan on staying more.  Although the pay is below what you would see in the private sector, it is on par with other community behavioral health agencies in the state.  Executive management is working on getting increases through a variety of funding streams and the goal is to pay staff what they deserve for working so hard.

The benefits are great and the flexibility I have as a working mom is second to none.  

The staff live the mission and are passionate about what they do.  I am proud to say that I work here.

As a non-profit, Thrive has to rely on outside sources for most of its funding and unfortunately, the State of RI has not increased medicaid reimbursement in around a decade. We know our salaries are not where they should be, but the support and flexibility that is available to me is amazing. My boss WANTS me to do well, it's an amazing feeling. 

I've been at Thrive for over five years and I truly enjoy my job, my team mates, and our smart and supportive CEO and leadership team. I feel as if my contributions are appreciated and I have been provided with myriad opportunities for professional and leadership development.

I have been with Thrive since it was called The Kent Center and even completed my clinical internship here. The Youth and Family Department is a wonderful & supportive environment with numerous opportunities to provide individual, family and group treatment.  Flexible schedules allow for managing personal and professional life. No micromanaging! Friendly staff! 

As a newer employee, I can tell the culture is shifting for the better. Strong DEI initiatives, efforts to increase wages, initiatives to foster collaboration, teamwork, and fun.

Low paying and the lie about hours you will work. You will be in the house covering overnights with zero support from the office. No offense the residents of the house a criminals of the worst kind. Not sure why anyone would want to work there.

The leadership within the Y&F team are amazing. They really make you feel like family and support you 100%. The pay or advancement isn’t great, but the learning and knowledge you gain out weighs that. If you want quality, apply now!

The staff are friendly and team oriented, but upper management does not listen to staff,  and do not provide staff with adequate tools to get tasks done. No raises have been given in over 11 years.

For people that love making a difference with ppl that have Mental Health problems this is not the place to work. At then end of they day nothing gets accomplished..

No pay raises. 
Inappropriate boundaries from clinicians. 
No individual will ever get thanked and acknowledged. It is either everyone or no one. 
Value the clients more than their employees.
