Overall I love the company. I started out on the phones and worked my way up to a supervisory position that had a relatively low salary (I actually took a pay cut due to the money I was making with my sales bonus). I learned how to run over a dozen different types of programs and several different kinds of employees. Due to the "get results no matter what" additude i was instilled with, I am now able to deliver results that friends of mine in similar positions for other companies couldn’t dream of doing.

I was there almost 3 years and I didn't move any further up and wasn't making much more than what I started with. One year due to financial issues no members of management received raises (which I was fine with because this was so our agents were able to still get the raises they deserve). When I finally got a raise it was 4% which is barely a cost of living raise. I had had to work a second job on and off just to ensure I have enough to live on.

Supervisors are responsible to making the company its money. They work one on one with the people on the phones and teach them the tools of the trade in order to be successful. If we fail we take all of the heat, and if we succeed we give the credit to the agents. A good supervisor in the company is priceless. I have seen a bad supervisor lose programs that lost the company not only money but good agents. And I have seen a good supervisor save programs and turn agents that should have been fired in the awesome agents. You would think that the company would recognize that and give them the compensation that type of work deserves.

Tom used to pride himself on only promoting from within. I had not had a manager in the center that was promoted from within in a long time. They have all been from outside the company. This would not have bothered me if we didn’t have anyone to promote, but I feel that we had people in house that could be trained to do the jobs they were giving away to outside help.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The respect. When you walk in you're informed of the job expectations, shown how they have a good work/life balance, and that they'll respect you by communicating with you through all procedures. Also, if one has an emergency or Dr appointment, you won't be docked with a valid excuse, and they're likely to allow you to make up your time same week if possible. Their level of communication extends towards their training for different contracts as needed, any changes expected to happen soon on the job, and their expectations for your when you're doing good or not letting expectations. Overall, very good.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Mass, back to back, calls while keeping in mind the best responses to current scenarios.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly, respectful, with open communication, and open doors for questions/inquiries.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Find a parking spot, clock in at my computer, make sure that all the needed script and information is pulled up and organized on the screen, open up the the proper programs to work, and work. End of shift I closed out all programs and signed out.

During my time at Thomas L. Cardella & Associates, I was taught all about the products and services that we offered to our customers.  Everything was all fine and dandy for the most part - aside from getting yelled at, cursed, ignored, and all around treated like a dog's poo.  One of my supervisor's was the ideal supervisor; he was friendly and wanted to help his underlings succeed.  The other one, on the other hand, was obviously discriminating against me and another one of my coworkers.  He was too preoccupied with a particular trait of the two of us to treat us like we were his underlings.  He was friendly and warm to everyone else on the floor - all except my fellow coworker and myself.  So when I quit, I quit on terms of "hostile work environment".  Not only for the torturous phone calls we had to make for eight grueling hours, but also for the obvious ostracizing from my secondary supervisor.

If my recommendations are taken into consideration for a job, I would say that the faint of heart or any decent human being for that matter should not work at this place.  It eats away at your soul, and if you don't fit within the supervisor's guidelines, he'll make sure you know that you're far from his favorites.

we were trained on a brand new position. were not told this. if the position did not work out financially with the company we would be left without a job. fortunately, it worked out for the company but at the expense of the employees. I was promoted to train new employees on the program since I was one of the first to every work on it and exceled at it. unfortunately, if they were not "turned around" after 2 trainings they would be fired. I was never given my raise that I was promised. we were referred to as the "slaves" of the head people on numerous accounts. it was all a verbatim script. which is fine...if they have answers for everything. they did not. we would get asked questions and have to avoid them or be wrote up for answering them when they are not in the script. we offered a trial period for 1.99 that you could cancel at anytime and not be charged after your 30 days. we found out this is a scam. you cannot cancel. the number that we gave to cancel was a dud. it would ring and ring with no one ever there to answer it. but we could not tell them that. it was an awful experience. I watched people that had worked for the company for 20 years be fired on this program. DO NOT WORK FOR CARDELLA!!

I worked at the EP2 location. The organization within the company is horrific. I was switched from outbound to inbound within 2 weeks of employment and promised a raise to 13/hr. The rule was that internal agents were required to work a full week in the inbound program to get the 13hr, so managment made sure to allow us to get to either Thursday or Friday of each week and then switched us back to outbound and then the next day put us on inbound. We were promised as inbound agents we would get holiday pay and then we didn't. They finally swapped us back to outbound permanently and took away the 13/hr. We were only on the inbound program for 3 weeks. It was ridiculous. I got wrote up for something stupid everyday, my breaking point was being written us for pulling down my mask to take a sip of my red bull. This place is a job and seriously needs to work of their professionalism and the way they treat their employees. This site is brand new and the turnover rate is ridiculously high already! I had originally planned to become a supervisor here until I saw the lack of organization and favoritism that this place has. 

I enjoy working as a phone agent. Experience has taught me that I might not like every project or certain aspects of a project but that's normal. Some projects are more important than others, or more difficult. Whether that is results or navigation. No program is ideal & to have patience, things will change. Those changes may be good, great, poor or worse. Support from "Supervisors" can be most critical. Being listened to & acknowledged can make or break the moral, motivation, overall job performance. 
One of the hardest parts of this type work is simply sitting in the chair,  staying on task. Boredom, repetition, repeatedly saying the same thing, over & over, for 6 hours a day makes this type of work unacceptable to many people. 
As a phone agent my mantra was..."the only thing consistent is change". I've learned that this applies to most everything in life. 

They DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEYRE EMPLOYEES like they claim. For example i was drugged while on the clock by a co-worker and instead of management doing anything they went and were laughing with the said coworkers. Its all one legit family of brothers and sisters mainly working as managers and they dont care bout you at all. Only being top. They dont work with you on schedule. I was morning shift and they completely dropped mornings and made us all work nights or quit with literally a weeks notice. They also say they promote from within but thats not the case. They hire who they want in the positions and then move them uo after two or three weeks. Strong clique environment. Also you have to constantly look over your check to even make sure you got paid right because half the time they rip you off your attendance bonus. Also 4 out of the 5 guy managers that all have girlfrienda literally flirt with every girl on thw call floor. From underage and up. Its a disgusting environment. Also have pictures of mold in the ladies bathroom onthe toilets

manager cared more about me needing a small blanket in a FREEZING office than my customers on the line. 
It was easy work and the company was very flexable with how you handled customers but the actual management in the NEW mexico location was poorly done.  There is a HUGE disconnect between the demands from TLC and the demands from the company you take calls for. Like do we help the customer or do we get off the phone?? What do i do!? 

I like the freedom the company gave me(the company TLC worked with) We were able to actually provide customer service but the managers were trained with us by a very condescending trainer ..But the managers didnt know a thing. Mine made up answers all the time, since i would quickly discover the correct answer myself, but then my handle time is too long. Fast food places actually pay more which i now know.. but I'm good luv, Enjoy

Company states they are family oriented and that they work with you when appointments or crisis happen but they really don’t. The program managers do not look out for you. The on-site manager she doesn’t ever work. She never is there and her attitude towards everyone is not great. Plus she allows a lot of illegal things go down at TLCA. They should do drug screenings monthly. Make sure none of the sales agents are drinking on the job. Because a lot of those who work at the marshalltown site get away with all of that because the managers like them. It’s not a friendly environment. They allow employees to bully others and get away with it. If you bring up an issue they don’t handle it but ignore it. They allow employees to smoke weed on the property and in the bathroom along with drinking in their cars. It’s not a good place to work because you don’t get acknowledged for your hard work and showing up all the time. If you want to move up you have a better chance moving up through fast food places than here.

Working as a benefits specialist has been a rewarding experience. This position honed my skills in communication, problem-solving, and data analysis, as I frequently collaborated with HR teams and insurance providers. Additionally, I appreciated the chance to make a tangible impact on employees' lives by providing essential support during critical times, such as during open enrollment or when they experienced life changes. Although this was a temporary position, it provided me with valuable experience and insights into the complexities of benefits administration, equipping me with skills and knowledge that will be beneficial in future roles within human resources and beyond.
