Unfortunately, the company was floundering in 'numbers' as required by DDA when I and other coworkers were hired,  so the push to hit those numbers to bring the overall company into State compliance was overbearing. Especially for new hires. Our roles as coordinators of community resources for developmentally/intellectually disabled individuals got "lost in the sauce" as they say - because of the urgent need to raise the compliance rate.  The personal touches when providing for individuals got abbreviated, and the process felt much more like assembly line work.  During COVID-19 in 2020, I did appreciate the ability to be able to work from home, 100%. The safety and wellbeing of employees as well as the people we serve was uppermost.  The benefits are good, not great, and it seems the advancement is possible within the company. But the turnover rate is high. The amount of work required and the salary amount are not equal, and people burn-out quickly due to the pressure to produce the numbers.   I must say I have learned new skills, and gotten better utilizing technology. My managers have been supportive and are there for me when needed. However, the people at the very top are too far from the front lines to truly care about the quality of the work - only the quantity.  And the way it comes off is more punitive than encouraging.  They have recently put in place a bonus incentive for employees who maintain a certain percentage of compliance.  That's a good start.

I worked for a little over a year at Total Care, and as they made them appear, things were not up to par. For your job title, there are unreasonable expectations set as well when you are asked to perform several tasks beyond your job description that they describe when "urgent needs." The new hire training is unorganized where new hires do not properly learn the fundamentals of the role and do not know the correct protocols for the position when it comes to completing documents. The working environment is closed-minded and very unprofessional. As an employee there, no matter how polite and competent they might be, you are advised not to ask the owner of the business questions. It's indeed possible to fire you for not being personally liked. Even though company policy specifies that you can not submit your own work, you can be fired for doing work that is in someone else's possession that they themselves did not turn in. You are not advised to take a day of mental wellbeing, there are no proper benefits only recommendations on businesses that give distinct benefits, and it is not properly implemented to support you when you ask for help, but more so develop a case for them to terminate you. In terms of complaints or problems about the job, there is no proper director or manager of Human Resources to go to. In one year, they have gone through at least four separate HR directors who have all resigned. I would not suggest working for this agency.

The management, the HR team are not professional. They often give attitude and talk in a condescending manner. I was given attitude in my interview, I should have known then. When an issue arose, they did not hear what I had to say, my explanation. They stated, "it sounded to us" "we took away from it". No, in a professional world you cannot assume or use your own basis, etc. You need to ask the employee questions for clarification, as HR and management you need to care about the people that are working for your company. If you cannot do that, then you don't need to be in your position. Just because a person is new, versus a vet employee doesn't make them untrustworthy. 

People are applying for jobs because they need to survive, take care of themselves. Your assumptions that cause a person to no longer be employed is a major ethical issue. Remember, just because you're HR or your job title is higher on the organizational chart than mine does not mean you know it all, that you're better than the next person, or that you're untouchable. Correct yourself or you will be corrected. 

Allowing your staff to LIE on others and then hire them is a problem!! I will be reporting this company to the Department of Maryland and the Better Business Bureau!

I enjoyed my employment with Total Care Services. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience from the company Directors and Superiors.

A typical day for me was reviewing documents, writing correspondences, filing, communicating written and orally, scanning documents, emailing, answering phones, processing outgoing mail, making travel arrangements, coordinating assessments, assisting the Director of Medicaid waiver services on special projects, examples were to audit contractors to ensure invoices were accurate. Creating a database to ensure individuals are receiving services, per contractor rendering , other projects as assigned.

The hardest part of my job was when a individual needed emergency assistance, and I could not coordinate the assessment because the individual did not have Medicaid.

I really enjoyed all my co-workers because we all worked as a team.

The most enjoyable part of my job was helping individuals' gain their independence.

My experience with Total Health Care Services was deeply disappointing. I was offered a fair wage and promised consistent hours, but once hired, my initial assignment never materialized. The company became virtually unreachable—calls and emails went unanswered, and their office appeared to exist only to project an illusion of professionalism. Training was rushed, disorganized, and dismissive, giving me no real preparation for any assignment. There was a complete lack of communication or support. I was left in financial hardship, having declined other opportunities under the assumption that this role would be stable and serious. Instead, I wasted valuable time and resources on a company that seems more concerned with appearances than accountability. I would caution others against relying on them for meaningful employment. My experience felt like a bait-and-switch, and I regret trusting them with my time and livelihood. This is not a company you can count on.



First let me start off by saying, I usually don't write reviews about any place of employment. This is by far the worst place a person can work. When I initially spoke to Human Resources, I was greeted with a woman yelling at me about if I have ever done billing before. Human Resources lacks professionalism and does not perform duties efficiently. You then will go through an intensive training for 3 weeks complete a lot of paperwork and assignments for absolutely nothing. Once they figure out they can't treat you like a child they will make up any reason to let you go. If you are professional person that has been in your career for awhile they don't want you! You are way too above their level as they are looking for below entry level. The only positive review about this job I can say is that I learned new information and also, that I was paid on time. 

AWFUL......in a nutshell, just DONT, they start the compensation at the high end but there are NO RAISES and the workload is made for a robot who has no life or family because you WILL work weekends in order to keep up with the caseload that is impossible to maintain in a regular 40 hours. There is NO OVERTIME PAY but again you WILL work overtime. They need more CSS's they have about 15-20 but need more like 50+ to handle the 40+ people on a caseload more CSS's would allow them to bring down the size of a caseload enabling them to take some pressure off the current CSS's and ultimately allowing people to actually be able to do well in the position. Unfortunately the caseload you receive will be completely OVERDUE and backed up when you receive it and therefore you will be stressed TF out from day one. The job requires a degree so if you meet that requirement take your degree elsewhere but if you need good money fast keep looking because the job is temporary. 

I met some great employees while working at TCS however, management/ upper management is very condescending and speaks to the CCS's as if they are slaves or incompetent. I had a supervisor that treated me as if I was dumb and spoke to me with little to no respect. The company values billing more than your service to the actual clients, which is pretty sad considering the fact that the focus should be on the population it serves (i.e those who are developmentally disabled). Women make up the majority that work here, so you can imagine how catty the atmosphere was. If you do work here, my advice is that you try your best to keep to yourself and stand your ground.  DO NOT let them see that you're a nice person because they will surely take advantage of you and treat you as if you're illiterate.

I was excited to work here In the beginning. I quickly found out that wasn’t true and they just throw you into the field with intensive training that you can barely remember and “a promise” of support. I stayed for only a month and a half and couldn’t take it anymore. I had 12 pcps to do which I still wasn’t sure about how to do. One of the people that I was training with left before training was over. The CEO did not know my name or my caseload. I was told to find my flow fast because there piles of unfinished work to be completed from last year. I was not doing that at all. The atmosphere was a constant reminder to Bill, Bill and Bill some more. The caseloads.... ridiculous... some people are on their 10th CCS. Turnover rate is ridiculous. Only job I ever regretted working at.
