This job started out okay. As time went on, and people started to leave, it became truly toxic. They hired supervisors who had never had any experience in a management role. This created chaos. Classes getting canceled last minute, supervisors did not communicate instructions to each other so instructions were unclear, and the purpose of the grant (teen pregnancy prevention) is so clearly uncared for. They do not even teach teen pregnancy (maybe 2-4 classes in an entire year). Classes are an extremely triggering social emotional learning curriculum from the 90's which tell 5th graders a story about a little boy being sold as a slave, telling kids to not eat snacks, how people use their body to make money, like models and how they have to eat "junk" if they want to look good... the list goes on.  

In addition, the supervisors will take credit for work you have created on your own and upper management do not see the flaws in the system or just choose to ignore it. Multiple people have given feedback about the workplace but nothing is done to create change. In the last year there has been a very high turnover rate and only 3 employees remain that have been there for over a year, excluding upper-management. They may also make you sign a contract that says you have to pay them back money if you quit before one year.

This company preaches being trauma informed to all of its stakeholders however they create trauma and toxicity in the workplace. People are asked personal questions in team meetings in order to bond with each other/ "ice breakers". The questions that are asked have never been asked in any other professional setting I have worked in. There is also favoritism. If you are not a "favorite" you will not be promoted. Supervisors are all in each other's weddings, attend each others personal events and leave out everyone who is not in a management position. 

This grant is on its last leg, I highly recommend looking for work elsewhere as funding likely will not be around in a year or so. 

Every other professional job setting I have worked in has far exceeded my experience at Touchstone.

The only enjoyable part of this job was being in the schools and making a difference in the lives of the youth in the community. However, this is now being taken away as the school district no longer want to have Touchstone's prevention programs in their school.


DO NOT WALK RUN AWAY from this company (specifically health educator and community liaison).

I dedicated almost three years to Touchstone when I moved to AZ, and I was forever grateful to begin my journey as a social worker. However, I ended up leaving Touchstone because I was enrolled in a social work doctorate program, and Touchstone had promised to assign me to two schools as a school-based therapist. I had voiced that it was overwhelming to continue working with six different schools and having to drive back and forth to provide quality work. However, given that Touchstone was understaffed, they relied heavily on their current staff to pull additional weight. Nonetheless, I told Touchstone that I wanted to focus on finishing my doctorate, and they responded via email that they would welcome me back with open arms as a doctor, which is false. I have now completed my doctorate, and I have reapplied twice with Touchstone and have been denied each time. I was informed that Touchstone decided to pursue other candidates for the same position, which I find absurd because I am more than qualified to work the same job I once had. Their decision to dismiss my expertise and qualifications seems a bit personal for leaving them, which I find dishonest because they have rehired other staff who have quit while I was still at Touchstone. Before I left, I was told, "We are a day late and a dollar short," which I found extremely unprofessional. Nonetheless, Touchstone has shown me their true colors in valuing their staff and their level of integrity. 

First I want to say that I have a special place in my heart for the program I worked in. Most of the employees in that program truly saw the value in the work that we do. I cannot say the same for executive management. They constantly shoot down opportunities for growth, want to “promote” people with more work and no increase in pay, and have a complete lack of understanding of how behavioral health work actually works. They are so disconnected with what our employees actually go through on the daily. They make last minute decisions with little foresight and then puts it on management to relay the message to other employees and clean up the mess. They constantly blame the turnover on the managers instead of considering how their actions and decisions impact the company. Management is dropping like flies because of how consistently they are undervalued and mistreated. Like I said before, some of the programs are amazing, some of management and the employees are great, but I don’t see how a company can truly be great with all of the negativity that trickles down from executive management. 

Touchstone Health Services seems organized, but when I first started, it  was unorganized with HR. Turns out my job is grant funded, nothing actually to do with touchstone and what they offer, i  only got offered benefits. My job usually entails teaching evidence based material in classrooms at schools or in community settings. I'm often hit with many tasks such as developing social media feed, completing professional development, and so on. My position for what I do does not pay me enough, I also heard additional negative reviews about Touchstone from other workers that work directly in behavioral health. Do not recommend. The hardest part about my job is that the environment is constantly changing, we are changing different places we teach, changing tasks, changing materials we teach, and often hit with different tasks. It's a lot to keep up with and again, pay is low.

Cons: You hate being in the office after a while because the morale is so low. 2 major cuts within a year with a lot of good people being let go. Regardless of how good of a worker you are if you don't make productivity consistently the will let you go. Families suffer because of that. Don't expect your supervisor to know more than you because they won't. Career advancement is almost non-existent. Very poor management. They hold the employees that bring money accountable but won't hold themselves accountable for poor management. High turnover because of that too. Training? what training? Transparency and communication is also basically non-existent. 

Pros: Your colleagues will be one of the best you ever work with. Competitive pay. Great flexibility and autonomy. Experience you attain.

Touchstone is one of the very best organizations I have had the pleasure of working for. The leadership is passionate about quality care, always trying to improve things for the families we serve and every team member. 

The behavioral health system as a whole has undergone significant change over the last few years. I have seen many organizations experience hardships that Touchstone has successfully traversed. 

Touchstone has been around for 50 years, provides a robust system of care including pediatric medicine, psychiatry, outpatient therapy and intensive services. 

Prior to working at Touchstone I was always impressed with their programming, after working here I am even more impressed.

Touchstone does offer overtime, competative salaries, opportunities to earn bonuses each month, wonderful benefits and thoughtful supervision.

I have dedicated many years to my professional career to Touchstone and I look forward to continued years of service within the agency. During this tenure, I have directly witnessed the positive, life-changing ways in which my team's contributions have positively impacted our client's health and well-being. Ongoing education has been a critical component towards being able to increasingly contribute to that effect. Because of my time at Touchstone, I've committed myself to pursue a higher degree of knowledge/educational merits, understanding, skillsets, and overall ability to better provide services and leadership within Touchstone. I highly recommend this agency.

Management just increased again the productivity target. We understand this is a business but pretty much this is about $$$, no the families. 
There are about 69 lead positions and around 300 staff. 
The programs are not balanced. There are supervisors/directors with one (yes, just one direct staff) and there are other supervisors with 14+ employees.
Productivity target does not considers sickness, PTO or cancellations. You have to get your productivity, no matter what. So many changes, because we are losing people every week.
If you don't have connections, you will not advance. 
There were two major cuts within a year, the first one was to let go staff, the second one to let go supervisors/managers. 
Need to change all managers, chiefs and directors.

The company focus and vision has changed to $$$$ signs and not the families we serve. constant management changes and unrealistic expectations regarding productivity, not paying overtime but expecting employees to complete all their paperwork within 24 hours which forces employees to work after hours. management treat their employees poorly and do not appreciated hard working employees. lack of job security, employees who have invested many years at THS have been let go during company cut backs without any consideration or transparency. do your self a favor and stay away from this company.

Having the opportunity to work from home, or anywhere you want truly provides flexibility. Typically during the day you will be doing your best to make daily production driving and meet with families providing them and connecting them with quality services and community/local support systems. 

Touchstone is the most trauma-informed agency that I have ever worked for, which makes working here a great plus.The agency is also very easy to move around in any department you choose.

I truly enjoy making connections with the families that I meet; but that's not to say that this can't be stressful. One thing I've learned is to practice self-care.

A con to working here as I mentioned is the stress in making productivity.
