On balance, if you simply did your job and expected little else, if anything else, in return from the company, this was just an OK place to work. It is NOT a great place to grow a career--just a stepping stone to something else. The corporate management decisions made in the headquarters office in NYC were often bad, and made for difficult experiences in the offices elsewhere in the country. Management style was hyper-demanding, and unappreciative, across the board. Passive aggressive was the daily theme--straight from the top.  Company growth, expansion, and reductions often appeared to be based on personal emotions at the top-- often with questionable business practices, expensive/wasteful outcomes, and horrible failures. Instability within the Sr. Management was fully visible, with significant turnover in senior ranks.  Lack of support for employees by HR was the norm, resulting in very high turnover for internal employees in all offices. Frequent compensation plan changes resulted in reduced commissions and earnings. There was no approach for employee development, or retention.  For a long while, the company motto seemed to revolve around efforts to save money through attrition and redistribute work to remaining employees. Several office closures occurred, with full staff defections en mass in a few instances (Consulting Division, LA office, MN office, Dallas office...). The unraveling of the company is a pure shame.

Pay ok. But - they will mislead you intentionally and disrespect you and other employees. Choose another if you can.

You get paid.  The pay is decent by market rates.  But it comes with a lot of downsides.  See below.

They lie about length of project.  I am talking about saying a project will last 6 months and it goes 6 days.  I (and others) believe this is to make you choose them over say, another being honest and saying it's a one month project.

The disrespect is unusually high, even for a contract attorney.  I've heard staff openly insult co-workers.  On a project where people had to travel, co-workers were put in dangerous situations and moved around to different hotels in far-flung places at night in unsafe neighborhoods to cut costs (and fatten their bottom line.)

If you're starving, you gotta do it - but if you can, go with a place that treats you with honesty and respect.

To management:
Be honest and respectful with your contractors.  They're the ones making you money and paying your salaries.  When the economy upticks, you guys are in trouble b/c reputation spreads (contractors all talk) and given a choice, people don't like to be lied to and disrespected.

I'm sure you get that.

My daily focus is to continuously recruit licensed attorneys for our document review projects. Tower is one of the few legal staffing firms that takes the time to interview their candidates in-person before placing on projects. We strive to interview in-person, but do interview via Skype or Facetime, or via a phone call if necessary.

I feel that our standards help us to have the best candidates possible to work on document review projects for our clients.

The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting and getting to know our candidates and our clients. Building a personal relationship builds trust and confidence for an attorney working on one of our projects, as well as for a client knowing I am going to find the best people to staff their project.

The workplace culture in our Dallas office is professional and relaxed at the same time - we strive to make the environment and pleasant and comfortable work environment for our attorney document review contractors.

I didn't hate working here because I was full-time and it was calm and a stable paycheck. Along with a handful of employees, I was expected to handle sensitive tasks with responsibility a la hunger games. The position is nice to spread and nice to rest on but the roles are very much defined by personnel on an isolated basis and difficult to really replicate for time outside the office. Working here most days felt mundane and the office layout was highly sensitive so as to encourage ambivalence among employees. It felt very much like I had been working there for years when in fact much less time had past. The managers were kind and the location was amazingly convenient for locals of the city. From the top to the bottom however, this opportunity was more of a scam in the ways that opportunities to deviate from the norm in the workplace were restricted and the energy in the air was one of fear by continuing the sanity of the "high level" work being conducted or lack thereof. In hindsight my biggest regret from my experience was that I didn't work under the influence of some mind altering substance.

I would never wish upon anyone to work here as an internal staff.  It is the most degrading decision I have made for myself.   Their pay grade is low (and don't think about getting a raise).  You'd have to be an exceptional employee to feel a sense of worth but no one has reached that bar.  You are constantly treated as if you're at the bottom of the barrel. 

They are not flexible with their employees but would expect you to work all hours of the day.  The former COO who doesn't appreciate anything, would send me demanding emails through 1:30 am and start again at 6:30 am.  There is no work/life balance in this company.

Minimal training was provided/available. They do not communicate with their staff, yet expect a lot. 

It has been a couple of years since I have worked there so maybe the culture have change, but that was the worst experience I've had. EVER!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Tower leaders are fabulous. They treat us like humans deserving of respect! In a ruthless industry that has commoditized lawyers with demeaning pay and benefits, Tower is so much better than any others I’ve worked for in LA and Dallas.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Never knowing when projects will need you until the middle of the night! It’s not always, depending on the project and the outside law firm. Also, if you have any chemical sensitivities, dealing with the scent people wear unknowingly that others can’t handle - laundry detergent, body lotions, hair products, etc., and sometimes the plug-in air fresheners. Obviously, This applies to on site projects, not remote work:-)

For the last two years, it’s been remote.

Not applicable with remote work.

What is the best part of working at the company?

I enjoyed being a temp paralegal. i liked the hours and the pay. 
I learned new skills while working at Tower, both the computer and a new area of the law.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
having people watch us like we were thieves.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
if you can get past people watching your every move it was great.  We had party people on our team. They regulary arranged pot luck lunches.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get up, go to Tower. Sign in to our assigned work. Begin the regular work.  Take a break, regular work, eat lunch. Most days left the building to recoup. Go back do regular work. Break, finish daily work. Go home.

If you are placed at Prime Clerk in Brooklyn (Industrial City) good luck.

The pay is $19 an hour (not competitive as they claim in the job vacancy) and they start you off with one assignment then they pile on a lot of other assignments,the work load is ridiculous. Be prepared to work long hours and have no life, literally.

There is lot of favoritism for hispanics (bilingual) and whites.

When Tower offers you a position they expect you to stay on the assignment but they can quickly let you go. No day is promised at tower. 

Also, there are a lot of young people who are permanent and they are such mofo's, the position really got to their head.

I would never recommend working in the brooklyn (industrial city) office, it is a joke.............................................................

When I first started at Tower, it was a great place to work.  Very flexible schedule and the atmosphere was professional but lenient enough so you didn't feel like you were at kindergarten like some other doc review companies.  However, management and recruiting staff has changed and despite my 2 years at Tower, I am no longer getting confirmed to new projects despite being told they will let me know confirmation details "when they get them."  The recruiting staff is inefficient at communicating and people with less seniority are getting hired first.  Also, market rate is going down at this company so time to move on.  I highly discourage working here.

I have worked with Tower Legal Solutions as a Contract Attorney for the last ten months (since October, 2021). In that time, Tower has placed me on three projects, each with an exceedingly competitive rate of pay and with prompt rollover (2 weeks or less in-between time) from project to project. The third and current project is ongoing at this time. Each project has involved substantive and rewarding work supporting a top-shelf client firm. The Tower partner who places me on projects is a consummate professional with heightened and engaging communication skills and who provides prompt and direct responses to any inquiry or update. I highly recommend Tower Legal Solutions without reservation.
