Traders is a growing company with a focus on doing what is right. This sometimes can result in some growing pains but leadership makes a point of sharing its plans with all employees. This goes into a lot of depth as to "the why" which is really cool to get to be a part of and learn. A lot of changes have been made, a lot of positive people have been brought on board (which was needed) and Traders is better because of it. I have referred several people to work for Traders and would not hesitate to encourage anyone interested in working here to apply. The owners are on site and incredibly social, executive management is a big proponent of the open door policy and makes a point to know everyone personally. Its a great place to be and the investment into fun events and company outings is the cherry on the top.

I came here just short of a year ago from a larger insurance company. I am really glad I did. This company makes its home in Kansas City and will not be moving or relocating like other insurance companies. Besides that, there are lots of opportunities. Sure, the work is challenging, but being a claims adjuster at any company can be challenging. It's my understanding the company is being considered for one of the top companies in Kansas City. We are really involved with charities and the local community. I read the other reviews that are negative, and they could not be further from the truth. Go to Glassdoor and you can see real reviews. There are a lot of changes going on, but for the good and they are hiring some really good people. Again, I could not be happier.

I have been a claims rep for about 2 years. I came from a larger carrier. The claims organization is currently undergoing some changes for the better. We now have the management and supervisor leadership that has been needed. People around me are being held accountable for the first time in a very long time. We are now attracting some of the best people which is making my job much easier. Obviously, there will be people that are unhappy about changing (as can be seen in a prior review). If you don't like change and moving ahead of the competition, this is probably not the place for you. If you like to be challenged and looking for opportunities, you definitely want to be here.

I have been working at Traders Insurance for over a year. The company is making the right changes to move forward. Because of the growth there's lots of opportunities to advance which motivates you to work hard. Management at all levels cares about their employees. They have an open door policy which allows you to always stop in and get questions answered at anytime. They do hold you accountable which is a good thing. It definitely has that family like environment which I love. I believe it's a very exciting time to be apart of Traders.

Not a company I would recommend.  No trust with upper management that changes constantly.  Old systems that they keep promising to update but never seems to happen. Inconsistent feedback across the board. Favoritism is valued over everything else.  PTO is allowed but you either have to work during PTO in attempt to keep your head above water or work double before and after, which defeats the purpose of time off. 

Senior leadership meets with all employees monthly to share corporate vision, "happenings" and overall results.  New employees are greeted on their first day by a guide that introduces them to staff throughout the office and takes them on a tour of the entire building.  The company staff at all levels truly appreciates it's greatest asset - it's people - and they walk the talk each day.

This is a group of talented, collaborative people, who work very hard at providing service to customers, while nurturing a quality focused team environment.

I have been at Traders for almost a year now. It was a big change coming from a large company handling multiple states to a smaller company working only in four. Overall I have been satisfied with the change. Though it may lack in rewards and discounts I received at my old company it makes up in how the employees are treated. Management is very supportive of their employees work and life balance. Management sets guidelines to help us achieve success and move up. Smaller insurance companies seem to also be less stressful than larger companies.

Starts out great, since it’s small you feel important and more than just a number. After getting in the trenches you get buried, and there is no way to be productive and provide the quality work that you’d like to. If you do not have kids and don’t mind long hours, you can move up pretty quickly, but if you have outside obligations it’s very hard to move around because to get everything done take a lot of time. They are improving in some aspects as virtual is now a sort of option.  There is a ton of turnover which makes the job even harder since they like to keep the claims teams thin.

Horrible company to work for especially with new management. They have lost that small business feel. They have hired a horrible vice president and he is on a firing spree. They no longer care about their employees. Their management is not trained they just kiss butt to get into their management position. The policy services manager is horrible and they all speak to you as if you are beneath them.

Worked with the new software vendor to ensure that the application met the companies objective. Migrated claims data into the new web based application. Reviewed and developed business rules needed in the new application. Worked with department heads to develop workflow and necessary reporting requirements.
