Trafigura

As everybody mentioned in the other reviews, Trafigura works you really hard as most of their offices are understaffed and thus you work long hours.  You will not be trained and will learn as you go which ultimately, while hard at first, ends up being a method that will work out in the end.  There are opportunities to move up, depending on your role, and I would suggest asking about that ability in an interview.  Also, you need to be willing to relocate anywhere in the world to work here as they often shuffle people around.  I would stay away from the Stamford office in particular as the head of the office is running it into the ground and they are likely to hire quite a bit as everybody jumps ship.  Houston, however, is well run and a good place to work in the states.

I typical day in the office was reviewing sales from the day before and then invoicing to the clients. While working at Trafigura I was able to strengthen my skills in creating and updating Macros and formulas for Excel. I appreciated all the training that management gave to me when I started for the company so I could efficiently do my work. I also was very impressed with how quickly they would help me if I had any issues come up. The biggest challenge of my day to day work was fixing the kinks in the Excel formulas. Even though having to update the macros and formulas in Excel were challenging, I did enjoy the work. It allowed me to sharpen my skills and also make my future work for efficient.

We as a team we put under tremendous pressure to try to ' balance' their books. They had extremely outdated software that had been an issue for several years and the management team where aware of this.
They are in the process of installing a new system, however in the mean time they were trying to reconsile the many millions they were out on paper.
The team I was in worked well, the training was weak, the management the same and was easy to see how they got in the mess they were in.
We managed to find pretty much all the various problems abd resolved albut a tiny amount of the monies in two weeks less that was first thought required.

While in Trafigura, I not only learned to prepare food and learn about food safety. I also learned tips on how to handle life and job skills while also being in a really nice environment where not only the instructors were friendly, but the other students as well. Although I do believe that we should’ve been given more days to work with the salary they were giving.

Typical day at work is finding something new added to your list of responsibilities, no work structure what so ever that clearly states our own objectives. Things are created as you move along with the role. Have learned that a company that doesn't have a structure is frustrating to say the least. There is no management...!!! Enjoyed working with  my ex co-workers they made the day not seem that long

My day at work is working with my team members making all different kinds of jewelry. like bracelets , neck-less , earrings and etc. what i learned was learning about what other people like. The type of colors people wear as well. The best part about my job is to see what others people came up with. The part i have trouble with is making sure the jewelry is tight together so none of the Jews will not fall off.  the most enjoyable part is making the jewelry.

We were in the construction phase and start up. We were switching software while setting up new accounts and vendor packets along with purchase orders and banking information for accounts payable and receivable. It was interesting and fun to watch the development of the site.

Working hours from 6am to 6pm, after hours you may be called out for break downs etc, I reported directly to the drill manager and worked with 70 expats and 150 locals under me, It was a very challenging job and required full concentration during my stint of 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off

I really enjoyed my time in Angola and learned a lot during my time there.

Productive and great experience throughout the business. Well taught jobs for the business world. Everyday at work, the job will be completed well done before the day is over. Co- workers are friendly respectful, smart, great apperance and personality traits, very good impressions. Hardest part of the job is to maintain a schedule with our tasks on short notice
