Transystems LLC is a company that truly does understand that the employees are the ones that make everything possible. Yes, there are projects, efficiencies to maintain, standards to uphold, but it is all done with the employees front and center as the difference-makers. 
The company is not stuck in its ways, it is always looking for ways to improve and change with the workforce. 
Even in terms of advertising, it is looking to focus more on the people rather than the equipment. 

My personal experience has been amazing. I'd spent my last few years working in a retail environment where I was nothing but a number or a piece on the chess board. Here I am treated like an individual, my feedback is requested and taken into consideration. My manager gives me the training I need, allows me to do my work, and follows up to make sure I didn't run into complications with my tasks. 
This company has been in business for 80 years, and you don't accomplish that without focusing on what's important...the people. 

This truly is a great place to work, from administrative personnel to the front-line workers. 

Though local management and the upper management are nice people (or at least make  a pretense of caring) they do micromanage. The attitude is mostly "just get it on the road" which is obvious by the junky trailers.There is no shop supervisor, just a lead tech who barely knows anything about trucks or trailers and puts broken equipment back on the road again. Company preaches safety but have techs work ten or more hour shifts completely alone which isn't safe in the least. One location has only one tech who is on call 24/7. How's that for cheap? During the winter months the equipment is frozen and covered with ice and mud which melts on you and the shop making a nasty mess. This is no fault of the company, but it is a depressing condition you will have to work in for three or four months. No kind of training provided. Tool trucks aren't allowed on the property which is beyond ridiculous. Per diem to work out of town is only 350 a week for hotel and food. Not enough. At least the pay was good and the people I worked with were easy to get along with.

Review based on the Burley/Paul area plant. 

Most of the drivers they hire have no experience (because 'real' drivers don't want to deal with them). 
Student drivers are taught everything (from how to drive, to pre and post inspections etc.)
They are shown how the plant works, and where most of the beet dumps are located. 
Trainees are guided over a summer and start the season prepared to go to work... oh, and the shifts are 12 hours. 

If you come into the job with an existing commercial drivers licence you are expected to learn it all on your own. 
If you slip up it will count against you even if you are told otherwise. 

I was sad to leave, because of the people I worked directly with (Liberty and American Falls). They were the nicest, most helpful and good natured people I have ever worked with. 
I am glad however that I don't have to deal with brown-nosing, and obvious *** kissing at the plant. 
Oh, and another thing....you will not make the fictitious $$$ they advertise. If you aint moving you aint earnin'. 
Plus you are laid off from end of March to Sept. 

This company has the most unreliable trucks in the entire trucking industry. I quit this place 3 times. Only went back when I needed money and had no other job. They pay by the load so expect long hours for non competitive pay. Expect the plant to break down only allowing you 1 load in the 12hr shift. Expect the plant to break down constantly!  Expect the truck to break down once a week and expect to show up on time with no job that day because of these constant issues which make the entire job itself unreliable. If you can’t find another job and are desperate and love sitting for hours in suspense take it. Just know this. They have their go-to guys and that’s who will get the better trucks and better loads. This company would go bankrupt if they offered a competitive hourly wage only,  and I hope you keep that in mind. You WILL break down allot. You Will sit for hours. The Plant Will break down. Other than that if McDonalds isn’t hiring take it. 

When I was hired with this company I was very excited. They seemed to really value their three pillars of safety, respect and responsibility.  What I’ve learned is they only do these things when it’s convenient.  If there is an issue with equipment that might cause prolonged down time - it’s no longer important.   New employees are not welcomed.  The culture of this company is not all inclusive and bad behavior is not punished.  An “open door policy” is in place but you’re made to feel like you’re keeping them from important things or causing an inconvenience.

The culture I have experienced in this company is contra indicative of their three pillars.  I will not be returning for another season.

Had I known these things before applying - I wouldn’t have.

Also, the 5700 a month they advertise on their job postings includes job referrals.  It’s unobtainable.

The equipment is under maintenance and trucks break down. The pay per load is low with average pay in 12-14 hour period at $5-$10 per hour. Everyone wants the longer higher pay loads but not everyone can get them. The average pay of "3600" per month (if lucky) is before taxes. Shifts are 4 on 2 off and newbies get the 12am-1pm shift not leaving any time for family time. The training is little to none and you have to rely on the older seasoned drivers to give you tips, (which the are reluctant to do so because it'll cut into their earnings the less you know them more they make) . If you have a problem with payroll don't expect to talk to anyone in payroll ever.... you can only do relays with you manger, who makes a call to someone who makes a call to payroll. However most everyone is polite as for people wise.

I would get there 15 min early to put on my shop uniform was five minutes early three times and was told each time that I needed to be there 15 min early and would not get paid for the 15 min every morning I would be bombarded about why things weren't getting done that wasn't my department I was the only welder fabricator responsible for a fleet 42 that ran 24/7 constantly having issues with getting parts work place culture is every tech hating there  job management would tell you if completed training and certifications you would get a dollar raise for each one I did 5 and didn't see a raise the most enjoyable thing was going home 

The hardest part of the job is working in the winter. jan-feb is terrible to be on the roads. Not just as a driver. But, getting to and from work in the areas Transystems has operations are flatland states. Which means sub arctic winters with 10-80 mph sustained winds.

It is how ever great for experienced and new workers to learn skills of the trade. I have worked at 5 different districts and the only place i'd avoid is the billings montana division. Unless they re did the pay rates. no sense in operating a loader for 22 an hour when jobs in the area offer 40 per hour for less strenuous work. or driving a 75 ton doubles semi for 23 an hour when 40 ton single trailer work in the area pays 40 per hour.

Friendly and helpful coworkers, good mechanics, you do have hourly wage but you are getting paid by how many loads you dump at the plant it’s based on how long it takes you to get loaded till you dump your load at the plant, should equal your hourly wage, A negative part of this  formula is your total time doesn’t equal your total loads you have done.Safety orientated, always monitoring your speed in zones deer and speed limits, fellow drivers Communicate dangers on the road, can get $2,000 bonus if you start at the beginning of the season and work through the  sugarbeet season.

They are a good outfit to work with to get your foot in the door of truck driving to see if you like it or not

Hoping the new truck drivers fresh out of class don't run you over or crash into you

A lot of new people fresh out of truck driving school that don't have a clue what is going on or how to respect another driver 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Just do your best and get out of there before something goes wrong because they like to throw each other under the bus
