Typical day at the branch starts with the team huddle to discuss our plan for the day.  It is a collaborative event in which we discuss the goals and activities we are going to engage in to meet those goals.  After that I meet one on one with each of my team members to coach and help them overcome any obstacles they may be having that are getting in the way of their growth and success.  Throughout the day I check in with my team periodically and do on the spot coaching.  Once a week I meet with each of my team members to work on their Career Path Plan.  All of my team members have aspirations to be the best version of themselves and also to move forward in their careers.  The most enjoyable part of my job is being a true inspirational leader to my team and helping them grow.  I am a developer  and individualizer by nature an as such this brings me an immense amount of satisfaction.  I also enjoy building meaningful relationships with my customers that are built on purpose, value and trust.  In my region my Manager has created an amazing workplace culture.  It is one of honesty, integrity and laughter.  There is so much support amongst my peers and I know I can count on them for anything.  We learn from each other and become better in every respect as a result of that.   The hardest part of my job is living in an economically depressed area but yet being required to achieve Sales goals that are not congruent with the demographics I have to choose from.  Overall though I love TCB.

Weirdest and most disappointing 6 months of my life.  I started seeing red flags my first week when I arrived for training and was basically shuttled between call center agents shadowing them and then just reading the operations manual. You mean to tell me a corporation with 10B in assets doesn't have a training department? I had more state of the art training at a call center I worked at in 1990 and technology has changed a lot since then. I felt bad for my supervisors and coworkers who were already very short staffed and had to figure out what to do with me. There's two offices, Chico and Redding and Chico is obviously favorited out of the two. They get catered lunch and have all kinds of perks while Redding is treated like an ugly stepchild. They obviously care nothing about retention. Their turnover and absenteeism is very high. It was a very disappointing experience 

This review is only about management and HR and they honestly deserve zeros stars. Management doesn't care about their employees or respect their opinions. Very heavy on sales and branches making their cold calls.  Small community bank but with Wells Fargo mentality. HR has COVID protocols that they should be following, but never followed through. Higher ups would send emails sending their thanks and appreciation to the frontline workers but it's easy for them to say that when they're just working from home away safely away from customers. Frontliners deserved way more. They don't pay their employees enough for the amount of jobs the employees have to do. All these hats given to the employees with no incentive or a pay they deserve.  Back office is so unorganized.  If you needed help with anything, you'll get different answers from different people in Operations Admin.

The only positive thing about this review was working with the employees at the branch and the customers. The team was very cohesive and stood up for each other. 

If you don’t like sales don’t work here. I’ve had good experiences with managers and most of the time coworkers are great. This company is pretty old school in terms of using a million different softwares that only some of your coworkers are allowed to use. You have to call around a hundred departments sometimes to get information because it’s locked behind a software only your manager is given access too. 
Lots of locations offer a fixed schedule which can be both a blessing and a curse. Lots and lots of room and opportunities for advancement. In my time working here I’ve seen so many people get promotions and opportunities which is amazing. My managers are really focused and knowledgeable. Company has a huge operational manual they update regularly with step by step instructions on how to perform most tasks. Great place to get started with banking, especially if your good with sales. Upper management is focused on sales, and you will be given resources and training for sales in any of the customer facing environments. Training is always available if you want it, and the company is friendly to work for. 

This company drains your spirit- you are underpaid undervalued and it is understood and expressed that you can easily be replaced and will be at any time; yet they are so scared of their own shadow they focus on "coaching" the employees who should find a new job rather than "coaching" and appreciating the ones that work hard. The compensation is not worth it for all the hard work you do and the only consistent thing is the inconsistency of direction. Whatever you do is never good enough and the culture is stressful. You are surrounded by a bunch of employees telling their managers what they want to hear. You have zero chance for a promotion unless you are from Wells Fargo. This bank was very different 7 years ago and now it is a bank that doesnt care about their employees or their customers. Annual merit increases are based on budget which has been minimal to none, however the bank leaves it in their budget to cater to the VP's to go to Pismo Beach every year for a week on a private plane and VIP service.

I was employed at Tri Counties Bank for eight years; I held three different positions in three different departments. First was call center representative, second was credit under writing and auto dealer financing, and third was consumer collection and insurance lapse agent.

All of my memorable experiences were due to the people that worked and had fun while working, which established professional and personal working relationships with.

Beginning with the President, the mission was to provide excellent customer service to our entire customer. Without them we would not have our jobs, the vision was to constantly listen to the employees, their concerns, or how to effectively streamline procedures.

Which created a close family environment; that lead to growth at a rapid pace.....

The typical night was the same each night. I really enjoyed this part of the job because it really allowed us to hone the nightly process and improve our production. Even though the department had the same responsibility each night there were always challenges that kept the job interesting. 

Working in a "behind the scenes" department gave us the ability to dress casually (Shorts and t-shirts). We also were "the fun" department. During slower nights or when we had to wait on the carrier service to deliver our night work we would always make the best of our time. There was always something to do to pass the time. If we knew it was going to be slow night, many times we would schedule potluck type of night which were always enjoyable.

Tri Counties is a great company to work for. I have a great branch manager and a fantastic group of employees that I manage. The hardest part of my position is overcoming struggles with Teller Retention. With so many employees being college students, they tend to come and go pretty quickly. It often times leaves the branch a bit short handed which causes customers to have to wait longer than they typically would. That can create a poor experience for the customer, which is a huge priority for me. Overall though, I really enjoy going to work everyday. The customer interaction is the most enjoyable part of my job. Having the opportunity to help our customer be financially successful is an honor. Tri Counties does a fantastic job of helping all of it's customers be successful, as well as the employees. I am proud to be part of a great company.

Tri Counties Bank is a small-ish regional bank, and as a result not up to date with the latest technology or streamline processes like the big banks are. But what they do offer is advancement opportunities, decent benefits (like stock options), and reachable upper-middle management. Since the bank is constantly expanding it can be easy to get into a role that is not totally defined and therefore open be changed based on what you can contribute. My biggest gripe is that most of the operations roles are filled with older folk closer to retirement and stuck in their ways. The company as a whole could use a healthy dose of young, ambitious professionals who are more competent with current and changing technology.

I worked for this Bank for almost a decade. Executive Management is constantly at odds with one another. Poor leadership from the top which trickles down. Employee moral has always been at an all time low. They are slow to provide employees with tools & resources to do their job well. Often, most job descriptions, outside of the retail platform, are 4 jobs rolled into 1 with you reporting to multiple people. Gender inequality is a HUGE issue. Women are not paid the same as their male counterparts, however, there are more female department managers leading the way. 

If you do apply, stay for what little experience you can gain, but don't hesitate to grow and expand your horizons and the opportunity to be grown and appreciated at another company.
