Started off as a case manager and did well at that position. Worked as a case manager for about 8  months before I moved into an available counseling position. Learned a lot of stuff regarding addiction and recovery and really bonded with the persons served. 
The clients are genuinely the best part about the company. I loved coming to work just to interact and teach the clients life skills. The management is truly awful. The supervisors, program coordinators, the counselors, even the  program directors are all awful individuals. During my time there, managers show you that they don’t care about the clients. I’ve physically been in the same room with managers, counselors, and directors and heard them making fun of clients including the way they walk, talk, and behave. They constantly treat the clients like criminals and show favoritism. A lot of my time has been at detox and residential settings and it’s all the same everywhere you go. Aside from upper management being terrible people that treat the clients like they are beneath them, the culture is very toxic for employees and the work load is a lot more than what you’re actually paid. Employees at Tri-County are severely underpaid and overworked. You ARE NOT paid for overtime work and they make it clear at the beginning that you’re only allowed to work your 40 and nothing more. The most enjoyable part of the job is most definitely the clients. The worse part of the job is most definitely the management. Lots of immaturity, spitefulness, micromanagement, and favoritism. The saddest part is the clients are aware of it and they know how bad the management and directors are. For some people in management  to have a history with addiction and substance abuse, they treat the clients like they’re beneath them and I would never work a company that has a culture like Tri-County. My experience has been a terrible one and I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. 

I enjoyed the work and I usually felt supported. The benefits are iffy. It is almost impossible to afford their health insurance, especially if you want to buy it for a family. Doing so would have taken almost all of my pay. Other benefits are good, such as their vision insurance. Very cheap and the plan pays out without question. They do have a retirement account available, as well as dental insurance. All full-time employees are entitled to holidays off, but it may not be on the actual holiday, depending on your program and role. Some management plays favorites, which impacts your schedule, hours, overtime, etc. Overall, it is a fairly good company to work for. They will hire from within. When COVID first began, they went to extremes to try to keep their employees working. Keep in mind, it is a non-profit organization, so it holds true that the pay is not the best. On the other hand, it is a good place to "get your foot in the door" in the behavioral health field. 

It's a great company to start out with as your first job! It pays more than minimum wage start. Flexible schedule. My managers are very nice and easy going with me. I'm always told I do a great job. I don't get OT, I'd have to guess it depends on who's the upper corporate management within the area, however I work full time. Easiest part, if you pick everything up in the parking lots every day and do what you gotta do, the next day won't be so bad. The hardest part are the leaves as some landscapers don't pick up all the leaves and will leaf blow the leaves AND debris into the lake. (Landscapers not within the company). The most enjoyable part is you're outside and as long as you do your job, you got the freedom to do what you want. The only consequence I deal with are the homeless bums (sometimes but the store and I try to keep them away), and just people in general. Some people can have nasty attitudes and not like you for any reason. I have yet to see if a promotion will happen or if I'll get any raises but so far I'm doing great with the company. I hope this helps!

I actually really enjoyed working at Tri-County. We were understaffed, so that made the job more difficult, but overall I was very happy working for this company. My immediate supervisor was inexperienced, incompetent, and had zero empathy for our persons served. However, all the other supervisors I encountered and worked under were amazing. Most of my co-workers were people who were passionate about the work we did. The pay was less than desirable, but lower wages are to be expected from a non-profit company. The health insurance was absolutely unaffordable for a family. My workload was manageable. Upper management did truly seem to care about the employees and made themselves available. Work/life balance was great. Although I worked a shift that was not ideal for a parent, I always felt as if I would be able to leave and take care of any problems at home, should they arise. This is one of the reasons why I felt valued as an employee.

Tri-County Human Services is a good agency to work for as their mission is to help those who are in need. Some really great people work their but some drawbacks and they are noted by most is that they don't have great benefits-there is very limited time off-the salary is low and you do not get annual raises-the only way you get a raise is if you move to a higher level paying job. their health benefits are extremely expensive and their retirement program is very lacking. They do not have an organized training program for new hires which can set someone up for failure.
overall they are a great company to work for short term but your reviews do not come with compensation.

Tri-County Human Services does not seem to care about its employees at all. As a full time employee I got no benefits, a paygrade far below my previous job and the average for my education skills (I took it because I needed the experience on my resume), and hardly any PTO (I might get a day every two months). I was told this was a salary position, but it flips between hourly and salary (whichever helps Tri-County's bottom dollar, not yours). My boss's flexibility is the bright side to this job, obviously that will vary by location. I have learned a lot on this job via experience and love working with my clients, but as for the business of Tri-County itself, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Depending on the individuals you work with the typical day at work can be stressful or very relaxing. I learned a lot about mental health and addiction throughout my years. The management had their good and bad days, however, they expected the good workers to continue to be assertive and disciplined when most of the staff did not enforce the rules that they stated they wanted us to follow. The workplace culture was very clique and favorable to others non-colored. The hardest part of the job was trying to keep the clients and staff in order. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the clients become the best version of themselves without their choice of drugs.  

Working with children in elementary school and working one on one with them through out the day. Addressing any concerns immediately and reporting to management and the parents daily. I've learned how to address the issues with young children at the onset of a problem. Management was very supportive, understanding and very professional. The workplace culture was also professional. The hardest part of the job was not having enough clients available. The most enjoyable part of the job was working at a job where it was employee friendly.

Administration and management create a culture resistant to positive change. You are supported, only if your ideas do not conflict with "the way we have always done it". Clinical focus is secondary to time and numbers concern. You have an opportunity to positively effect the lives of people who need help and their is a lot of job satisfaction to be found in that task. The management expectation is "yes" to their current policies and practices and any suggestions for change are viewed as personal attacks rather than opportunities for growth.

A typical day is when the phones are busy and you are processing files to be billed. Learned how to audit medical files and saw how the people in the company work and saw different locations that the company has. The management in an overall was okay. The co workers were also okay and they were a joy to talk to when there was time to talk. The hardest part is getting started and learning the job or position you are hired for. Very little training. It is more like a hands on location. The best part of the job is you knowing what you did for the day and then you go home with the sense that you acomplished something that day.
