Trillium itself is a great company that is making great strides in the community. It was exciting to be a part of a company that "put their money where their mouth is" with the all inclusive playgrounds that they have opened etc. As far as the Call Center; having run my own company for 9 years and working in management for approximately 15 years, I was very surprised at the culture that exists there. The coworkers were great and found ways on their own to keep up morale working in a high paced sometimes stressful position in the absence of an effective Director. I observed that complaints against the Director are not made to the hierarchy as the employee who made the complaint was made an example of. Duties, protocols and processes seemed to change at whim with no demonstrated effectiveness. Opinions are requested; however, experience has trained the staff not to share if it is in contrast to the leadership. The staff are led to believe that those over the Director are fully aware of all changes, issues etc and are fully in support of the Director's actions. While prior to this, I have never worked in a call center, It stands to reason that if the calls are being monitored for training purposes, this would be a standard tool in the probation/training process. However, if an error is made on the phone, instead of immediately correcting the issue and using it as a learning tool, the employee does not learn of it until the next performance review. This gives the employee ample time to embed the incorrect response or technique until the next performance review thus making the correction punitive and not effective training. There is a wealth of knowledge among the Agents, Coordinators and Clinicians which could benefit Trillium greatly but it is not being utilized to its fullest capacity.

After working in mental health for more than 25 years, THR was the absolute worst job I have ever had.   The training department is a joke (it takes death by power point to a new level), and the micromanaging and redundancy of processes is exhausting.  I spent more time documenting (and documenting again) my work.  Another issue is the size of caseloads.  Some departments have very manageable numbers, while others are tripled.   Projects change quickly, and are done in addition to what is your expected care manager duties.  The pressure in care management is quite high, and productivity and numbers looked at often.   The workplace culture definitely felt like an “us vs. them” in terms of legacy THR employees, and those who came from Eastpointe and Sandhills.  I went from working a job that required a license, to one that only required 2 years post high school.   To maintain my license, I had to take PTO and pay for my continuing education, unless THR was a sponsor of the conference itself.  then they would pay for some employees to go.  There was no interviewing process or input into where we were placed.  The best part of the job was my legacy colleagues, who I could speak honestly with.  The worst part of this job was truly everything else.  I worked for SHC for 7 years, but only for THR for 6 months.

Trillium Health Resources was formed by a merger between CostalCare and East Carolina Behavioral Health on July 1,2015.

Many of us were moved into very new positions,some of which were poorly defined. Many changes and a high level of anxiety because there was definitely duplicate staffing in a number of areas and because the the nature of the new organization,many departments and functions were eliminated.  

The department where I was having a great time at the last minute was eliminated and 8 of us were assigned to the DOJ team. The program was understaffed and needed help and we went to work on this important project.
This group has been in a state of flux from the time I was assigned until the day I left last week.
Hardest part of the job was seeing people fail to do what was needed to become independent and ending up back at an assisted living facility.
The most enjoyable part was when we transitioned someone who never thought they would live outside assisted living did the work and was successful.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Remote work, State Benefits, Pay is fair, and the team I worked with did an excellent job and was team oriented. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Training!! Death by PowerPoint is an understatement. Often was told how to do certain things ( billing ) then told later it was incorrect and changed. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment was good as it was mainly remote. At first,Supervisors were there for you to answer questions and guide you if you were unsure of something. Was told we know it's a new program so don't worry about messing up we will understand. Only to be terminated later for documentation error. Termination meeting was made to feel like a criminal with no way to explain why errors were made as my access to everything was blocked from me and no support from supervisor. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Remote was very nice. Caseload was manageable. Again support from team was amazing with the exception of a few.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The team I had was amazing! They way they let me go was wrong! The job requirements were HS diploma & I had over 60 hours of college credits and because my application was marked associates because it doesn’t allow you to add “the college wrong about 20 of us out of our degree” when they closed the doors and ran! I do give props to my manager for doing the best she could to let me keep this job. But I am still upset that because I gave 110% to my training and did very well after..they wouldn’t work with me. So I give the company 2 stars! They need good workers but yet let you go on something so petty!! Job description clearly states (HS diploma) not a degree!

I worked from home so it was great! As well as culture

Busy most of the days

This is a pretty decent place of employment and boasts on inclusiveness as people from different backgrounds are served. Internally however it is not the same. Only certain people and positions get work life balance. Depending on your supervisor you may get remote work status or flexibility even after proving your ability to work without micromanaging. There is no people of color in upper management so diversity stops at a certain point. As far as work it is pretty low on the stress level if you are in a department that does not micromanage or treat certain positions as superior to others. there is joy in helping others. you leave with a sense of purpose at the end of the day.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Poorly organized company. Hiring and advancement are based on nepotism.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The constant change in direction. Supervisors and managers are extremely rude and punitive.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very poor, and stressful due to a culture of who you know to be able to make it. Very little support for the staff.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
overwhelming with the constant change in the direction of the requirement.

Trillium as a whole is okay to work for. Be prepared to have high caseloads and little guidance or the tools you need to be successful in the job. Multiple processes are duplicative because the EHR system is garbage. Raises are few and far between and the pay rate is the lowest of all the MCOs. Upper management is unwilling to make any changes to make processes more efficient. Upper management does not care about your feedback or implement any changes to address concerns despite them asking for suggestions. 

Absolutely loved my job here!  Though it could be stressful at times, I always felt happy with the work I was doing at the end of each day.   The organizations core values are embedded in all practices, including supporting their employees as well as community outreach initiatives. Very supportive team of colleagues and supervisors.  Great pay and benefits, and flexible schedule as needed.  I would still be working here if I did not move out of state.   Would work here again if provided the opportunity!

I don't know when i come to work whether i'll be randomly reprimanded for behavior deemed inappropriate by supervisor's subjective personal feelings about employees. NO open door policy. When concerns are expressed, retribution will be taken by supervisor to make you want to quit or change positions.  Its routinely communicated that if you don't like a policy or practice of the company you are welcome to leave. Keep in mind this is a Mental Health agency.  HORRIBLE leadership!
